A couple hours for a newby, less than an hour for an experienced turner. This one is made from Laurel and is finished with only Acks Abrasive Paste and Polish.

Phil, i really enjoy your videos. I am an old guy of 73, getting back into wood turning. I like the fact that your stuff is all wood. No plastic/ epoxy. Just wood. I like your designs and I hope to be able to incorporate some of your ideas in my work. I'm collecting materials and tools currently and hope to be able to start turning soon.

I’m a Biker and I’ve been cutting wood with a scrollsaw for 23 years. My Biker group gave me the name Termite. I decided to get a wood Lathe. I bought a big Lathe a few years ago but I’ve never used it, I just bought a 10” x 18” wood Lathe at Christmas and I’m fixing to start turning wood. I made a homemade lathe out of birch plywood, carriage bolts, t-nuts, a cheap variable speed drill and some skate bearings. I know I'll just want a real lathe soon
