It's all "crowdfunding = satan spawn" and folk moaning because they legit haven't the slightest clue what goes into music production when you aren't some indie bedroom gig 😂 let alone trying to mix something as packed as what he's cooking. Even the "time between releases" moaning is off-point in the end. This aint that rap garbage where you're irrelevant for not vomiting oit something every 2 months somehow.

I think there are some valid criticisms - like that it's possible to work out other arrangements for recording and mixing and releasing music. People do it all the time. But Jari wanted it done his way, and while I personally respect that, I think it is a valid criticism. Does anyone know what mixing/editing software Jari uses for his music production btw? Is it protools or what exactly is it?

I have been like a little child waiting for Christmas. "One With the Shadows" will be mind blowing, I have missed that kind of singing and Jari knows how to do that.
The vocals on 'One with the Shadows' are absolutely stunning and Powers Inside is like a song I've never heard but somehow feels nostalgic. I've never anticipated something coming out quite like this.
The Dragon Song reminds me so much of the Ensiferum debut album. I can't wait for it!

So excited I can hardly breathe! Storm has such an “In the Hall of the Mountain King” vibe. Jari born in a different century would have stood alongside Wagner and Grieg. What a talent we are blessed with!

@@windrider6124 the dragon with the castle definitely loosk ai generated. They still look great, I too would be curious about the actual program. Pretty sure the AI just gave a baseline, the animations had to be done more or less manually.

tbh the snare sounds kind of dead, all of the ring has been EQ'd out of it, i do get the design choice to make it sound like that though.
The drums are my one concern, as they lack feel, and have a mediocre sound. I also doubt Kai recorded any drums for this. Maybe back in the day, for the original version that was scrapped, but I doubt he touched this. I'm willing to bet these are 100% programmed.
@@BlackMetal0189 not even close. The drums were recorded in 2006 during TIME I recordings. (If im not completely mistaken)… as a drummer i have been following hahtos playing for years and i can 100% quarantee you that this is Kai Hahto behind this drumming for sure… its just the mixing that does the trick because the drums are sampled to fit the songs athmosphere etc..
@@jimiinnanen402 I will bet anything these were not recorded in 2006. It’s obvious that they are sampled, considering how fake they sound, but even if Kai actually recorded these, I highly doubt this is from the original version that was recorded in 2006.
@@BlackMetal0189 If you slow it down you can hear imperfections, they are 100% not programmed. 1:51 you can hear the blast beats get sloppy towards the end of that. That is just 1 example. But I very much see why one would think they are sampled. They sound quite "plastic". The snare could do with a bit more decay in my opinion. The Time I snare was very snappy, unlike the Time II snare.

@@bobvanka, "Storm" one is more akin to "Beautiful Death", I think. "The Way Of The Fire"'s two solos are closer to "Winter Madness".

I am almost in tears hearing all this. Sounds amazing! But as such I think you would expect nothing less from Jari and the rest of this amazing band. Sure it has taken a long time. I'm almost 49 now and I started listening to Jari already in Ensiferum. Been listening to his brilliance just about 2 decades. But when I finally get my hands on this finalized product later this year. I know I will cry even before I'll listen any music on it. Call me sentimental but I'd like to spend a day or 2 as a fly with Jari in the studio just listening what his one of a kind mind produces.
It's crazy that Time II was already recorded in 2006 but it just took years of audio engineering to finish it.. At least that's what Teemu said in his interview.
@@MikaTarkela Yeah. That is true. Jari said a long time ago that the technology wasn't there yet to produce this record at that time. I can only imagine how many tracks he has in one song. I have dabbled all my life with music basically since I was a child and I have struggled also with PC's Cubase Pro or Mac's Logic Pro with songs that have a lot of tracks. But they have to be massive and in Jari's case I don't think that my massive means just about next to nothing.
@@narmagil7524 Yep his visions are massive and what we've seen from his daw projects there really are a large number of tracks and instruments. It doesn't bother me at all because it all sounds awesome! I just somehow had no idea that the tracks were as "old" as they are heheh. But then again, new mixing methods etc make them new.
Hot take: I look even more forward to the stuff he wrote from 1992 to 2000 than time 2. lol While Time 2 certainly will be great, but I just love the rough and dark finish metal of 90s.
I expect to love it all but Time II for me will unbeatable, not just from Wintersun, from anyone.

In "One with the shadows", that scream ("to say to you what I feel") seems full of pain and desperation. Was that your idea Jari? Because that scream is not just vocal, you made it part of the way of telling the song. Nice part Jari, nice part.
I got into metal because of Ensiferum's Self-Titled album and Iron back in mid 2000's. Wintersun was the natural path forward, so seeing those legendary demos come out made me quite emotional. Not only Time II, but I'm most excited for Silver Leaves and Fields of Snow. Jari you mad man, stop having such a grasp on my life.

Storm has a really brutal meaning and that little part which Jari posted was enough to destroy me,what a masterpiece in there but…. I remember in a interviene where Jari spoke about silver leaves was as brutal as loneliness ….but once again it keeps as a mistery . I am so happy to listen Time II…. Cannot wait for it. Been very hyped for The Way of the Fire in a studio quality track, and that's not stopped, but god damn if One With the Shadows didn't sound even better. Storm is very intense and fast paced, which is cool, kinda has that older Wintersun feel to it, but I'm less excited about that than I think I should be. Lots of amazing music in here I'm looking forward to, and I think the modern remaster of The Forest Seasons is going to be fantastic as well. The original album didn't really do it for me, but this version sounds like it's going to be fantastic, and right up my alley.
