    • It is brilliant and it has to be as it carries the entire album. Time I is a well thought-through composition end to end but Sons Of Winter and Stars is what makes it stand out. Time is a good song by itself but doesn't bring anything new to the table. The other songs are just filler material. I cannot remember playing any of them on purpose outside the context of listening to the full album.

    • I remember this is Jari's most ambitious work so far. He put time and effort to this, and he's prone to perfectionism. This is pretty... perfect :) After many listening I just kinda wish they'd use the double base and rest of the drums a bit more varied in the beginning. I mean it's good for the first attack for the first phrase where it comes. But the 2nd theme it gets with the chugging is more musical, more interesting Even slight pauses, and couple of speed changes would sound good. I feel the drums should co-op the quire a bit more there. And that would still not mean they would really lose something from the speed.

    • @@jamespeterson4275 To this day it's one of the best written and best composed songs of all time, if not the best, and will continue to be until the 'end of time' itself. It will now come in modern quality, completely mastered anew. Only songs from Time II can potentially compete with this, and whatever Jari continues to write. An absolute masterpiece. Equilibrium's instrumental song 'Mana' is the modern answer to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. This however, is on another level. 1500 tracks and more ideas than entire albums of other bands, beautifully put together. It was just like Jari said, Time I was a demo (although it didn't feel like it), but this live version ... holy shit.

It can also cause a number of digestive issues for your body, that you don't want in a weakened state. Do what your doctor says, and don't start something like that without consulting them first.

    • Alternative medicine guarantees even less. "Official" medicine is proven, defensible and backed by people who have more often than not spent DECADES studying a very narrow field of medicine just so they can contribute something to a greater knowledge-based whole. Alternative "medicine" falsely raises hopes and provides zero expectations of efficacy. The best alternative medicine we have here in Finland is telling people like yourself to lick lamp posts midwinter. I suggest that you "look into" this.

    • There are forms of music that aren't my style but I recognize talent & masterful songwritting when I hear it whether it is what I enjoy or not. I've never understood why anyone that truly appreciates music could just write Metal off & ignore it their entire life because much of the best music written today is Metal. Is every band something exceptional? No, of course not. Especially when you're listening to pop-rock. Bands like Disturbed & Korn, for exaple. They do not stick out as something exceptional & if one thinks that bands like that are representative of the genre overall then I can see why someone wouldn't be impressed. Every style of Music is found within Metal. Nothing else is as interesting & it all pales in comparison next to Metal. Plain & simple.

Rain of Stars] Behold the rain of stars - The awakening of darkened skies Falling from the dark - The symphony of dying lights Behold the rain of stars - The blazing fire came pouring down Falling from the dark - And life and death became unbound Sons of winter and stars Rise! Sons of winter and stars Rise! Sons of winter and stars! Rise! Rise! Fly with us through the darkness Sons of winter and stars! Rise! Rise! And we shall embrace the stars And we shall open the doors of time [II. Surrounded by Darkness] I have awakened the darkness Taste the fear! Taste the pain! I am the one who seeks vengeance Into the darkness we fly Into the shadows they hide Into the darkness we fly They will never survive, they’ll die Oh they will die! I sacrifice everything, just for one moment I throw away everything that matters to me the most I’m flying through the darkness The fire casts a shadow on me I tear a part of my heart for creation of dimensions And we fly beyond the restless shadows We fly beyond the stars We fly beyond the birth of the worlds So old I’ve become - Thousand years staring into emptiness But now I realize - That it was just an illusion All this time I thought it was you that would save the sun Oh rain comes and washes the hate away Now I am at the crossroads with questions Somewhere, someday I will find what I am here for Who am I [III. Journey inside a Dream] I’m wondering now where will you take me From the horizon the light comes alive Into the mountains high we set our way Will we find our way in this long winter night I see the land of fading sun and rising mountains And I finally feel that I’ve found my home But oh, how it feels so cold when my dreams wither in fragments of time Revealing that this land will die Before the winds so cold The world was shattered in the fragments of time Before the autumn rains The coldness will again awake Falling snow, so soft and cold Dying moon cast down so weak Frozen lake, the dancing spirits Calling me to join in the cosmic dream The silence is tempting me now... [IV. Sons of Winter and Stars] We are the Sons of Winter and Stars We’ve come from a far beyond time Forever the fire burns in our hearts Our world shall never die In the arms of the wind we ride till dawn As the waves of the ocean grind so strong We wander in the stars until we’re gone Our fate is sealed by eternal sun [x2] Until we fade away - Fate will find it’s way Until we drift into the dark It’s not too late to find a way - Fate will find it’s way And fly in cold embrace of stars Mysteries of time Unfolding in cosmic dreams Leaving life and death meaningless Before the revelation of infinity Embrace the stars! The energy flows in me like a river of stars I’m surrounded by the circle of fire, but eternal ice has frozen my heart I’m lost in the pathways of time But now the time has come for us! We are the Sons of Winter and Stars We’ve come from a far beyond time Forever the fire burns in our hearts Our world shall never die In the arms of the wind we ride till dawn As the waves of the ocean grind so strong We wander in the stars until we’re gone Our fate is sealed by eternal sun [x2] We are the Sons of Winter and Stars! • I wouldn't say they are underrated. They're one of the biggest bands in the Extreme Metal genre, and that's quite a large umbrella term. They frequently sell out shows, and have played in some pretty huge festivals. Maybe the genre as a whole is fairly underrated, sure, but Wintersun get a ton of recognition for being in a kinda niche genre.

The fact that Ensiferium where on their prime at this time helped alot due the fact most metal interessted people already knew Jari for his great work and ear for details in making music at this point. The fame whent low due the extrem time between the release of the second album. some people just forgoten them and Time one, even well recieved, couldnt bring them the fame back. Way to much time has past. • I think Jari might not have the vocal capacity to sing the song in its entirety, in its original key well enough in one take for him to be comfortable putting it out there. And I don't want to see a version with a lower key, because it could never live up to the album version like that. Perhaps he sings it in a lower key on tour, because it's too much for his vocal folds to handle while he's touring, screaming and singing as much as he does while on tour, though. I've been a vocalist all my life, so I know how that stuff is. The more you use and stress your voice, the more you "use it up". If he can sing it close to as well as he did on the album if he hasn't been stressing his voice beforehand in one take, I'd be all for it. I'd love to see it. I don't know which one of those two options could be the case with him.

    • @@watchbabe5479 saw them live a little while back....didn't sound like it was in a lower key but he sang it phenomenally. Their whole set was near perfect. Aside from one of their guitarists not making it into Canada, but Jari doesnt sing and play guitar anymore so he can just focus on vocals maybe partly for the reasons you've mentioned so he can focus and take care of his voice and just be able to put on a better performance. Who knows for sure. But still. Amazing live

As far as I know, Kai is now playing drums full time in Nightwish after their original drummer had to step down due to a severe sleep disorder. But Jari is the musical genius of Wintersun. His band mates are always exceptional musicians though. They _HAVE_ to be or else they'd fall flat on their face trying to play Jari's music.

Everyone in the building sings along the entire show which makes it all the more epic. Kai was drumming the first 2 times I seen them but Timo Häkkinen was playing with them the last time I seen them on The Forest Seasons U.S. tour & he was no less impressive. The Metal Archives says that Kai Hahto is still Wintersun's drummer but he is also Nightwish's drummer now so I don't know what's going on with that. Many Metal musicians are in more than 1 active band so he could very well be a full time member of both bands.

I know that everyone don't appreciate this type of music (still don't understand why but that's another story) but regardless you must admire the craftmanship and excellence in performance to do what they're doing.
