      @electrofreddy@electrofreddy5 жыл бұрын
    • Sock isn´t that great at the net, to be honest. He hits some nice drop shots, but he also missed some crucial ones, that were not particularly difficult. And while he is the best of those few guys who actually play doubles, I wouldn´t put him ahead of Federer or Nadal in doubles. Federer has better instincts, and a better overall understanding (although he is not all that impressive in the forecourt, either!).

  • Wow! Jack Sock dominated this match; but Federer's volley skills, footwork and anticipation at the net are so impressive. Wonder why many people regard Djokovic, as the most complete player of all time? Maybe from the baseline, but Federer has the most complete all court game in history, IMHO.

    @plutus2243@plutus22435 жыл бұрын
    • People equate consistency with complete a lot. It's hard to be very consistent when you have an aggressive game like Federer.

      @plorsomnia@plorsomnia5 жыл бұрын
    • Laver and Sampras were both much more complete "all-court" players than Roger, in the same way Roger is much more a complete player than Djokovic. Conditions and balls and string composition have transformed the game from generation to generation.

      @farid1406@farid14065 жыл бұрын
    • PLUTUS Naaaah Federer is FAR from the most complete all court player of all time. Serve and volley style is outdated, that's second thing. We used to have specialists for all kind different surfaces, not anymore. Baseline game today is what matters, not volleys. 😉

  • Team World takes the lead at 8-7 after this crucial win. For match #10, I think that Federer will beat Isner in a match tiebreak, then Anderson will beat Zverev in match #11, and finally it's a toss up between Kyrgios and Djokovic in the last singles match. I think there is a good chance that TW can win the title if it gets to the last match. Kyrgios is usually energized by this kind of environment (whereas I question whether Novak really cares about winning this). Further, the chicago crowd will certainly be on Team World's side should it go to a decider.
