Stolen Dodge Challenger hits 161 MPH to escape THE LEGEND Trooper Byrd

Trooper Byrd's Report:
On May 24, 2023 approximately 12:52AM, I (Trp. Jacob Byrd) was patrolling on Interstate 30 westbound near Interstate 630
when I entered a Texas tag PGH0050 into ACIC. Upon running the tag, I received a return to a 2021 Jeep. The tag was
displayed on a silver Dodge Challenger (V1).
As we approached Roosevelt Road on I30WB, V1 decreased his speed into the upper 40's before accelerating at a high rate of
speed in excess of 100-mph. At the south interchange, V1 merged onto Interstate 440 eastbound where the driver blacked out,
turning the headlights off on V1. V1 continued to flee recklessly at speeds reaching 161-mph confirmed by my front radar.
The pursuit continued to Fourche Dam where V1 exited I440EB. V1 fled south on Fourche Dam before turning west onto
Frazier Pike. Near the intersection of Frazier Pike and Stout Street, I lost sight of V1 and discontinued the pursuit.

    • I think ASP is just good about uploading to their channel(s). My brother in law is a cop in OKC, he says you'd be amazed at the number of people who attempt to evade/elude/run when they get lit up. The reason Chargers/hellcats can often 'win' is because they aren't beholden to the laws that cops have to abide by, whether it's the 130mph ceiling or themaximum speed allowance for blowing through stop signs (which is the main reason people get off the highway and then trawl cops through residential grid w/ 4-way stops since they can blow through them with no braking, then zig zag left right at each stop sign or every other stop sign and with that stronger engine and no need to brake, you gain huge swaths of lead each time the cop slows for a stop sign. Regardless, Byrd is a demon! I imagine some of these dudes are in shock seeing Byrd right on their tail the entire chase

  • I am always hearing how Trooper Byrd is LEGENDARY. Well this video proves otherwise. Going to fast for his tires to continue gripping; lost the suspect in a matter of seconds and continued the pursuit far past what he should have. Sounds like someone's ego got bruised.

    • When your car tops out at 140 you aren't going to catch a Hellcat that can do 165.

    • Also, this pursuit is a non-sense dangerous game fuel by ego! That put a lot of people in danger without justification!
