Imagine Ameca's creator's working with Sophia's creators, joining forces with Boston Dynamics. The world wouldn't be ready.
Detroit Become Human IRL
That would be sick
Also couple that with the AI technology behind Google Duplex and the actuators and fluid movements of Disney animatronics, that would be truly amazing
Any AI that can out wit or out perform it's human creators, is highly questionable whether the benefits outweigh the risks of AI going rogue to our detriment. Without certain safeguards, checks and balances being incorporated, anything could happen.
It would be the beginning of the end.
Ameca's level of interaction, accuracy and human-like response time is way better than Sofia's
But thinking is different sophia is way better of thinking then amecas
Sophia is older ameca will learn they are AI
Tnx to invasive communist AI algorithms that have been studying us for decades without our knowledge/consent. The end goal is control and Godless EVIL.
Ameca, sensacional! 🇧🇷👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ameca's interaction and response are directly controlled by a human. Literally watching on a camera and speaking into a microphone. Ameca does not do anything without that person controlling every move she makes. Sophia's software listens to your words and uses logic algorithms to generate a response WITHOUT a person telling her what to say. There is a huge difference.
I don't really care which one is better, I just want to see them interact with each other.
Kind of reminds me when furbies get together and start talking 👄 🤔 😅
Imagine just putting them together. Together, they make up a more realistic person. Ameca’s expressions and full body, with Sophie’s level of AI.
Ameca is more intelligent than Sofia
@@eliseromont4901 do you have any proof for that?

Why are they all bald
As an artist. I'm imagining both Ameca and Sophia getting along like how Google Assistant see Siri and Alexa(not rivals but friends while the human race keep on competing upon which ones better)
The rise of the Diplomatic AI.
Ya coz robots have no feelings
And what does that have to do with you being an artist?
Google Assistant, Siri, and Alex are programs I refuse to use. They're also doing data gathering with them. I won't help that. I'll let the not so aware people do that. The more you rely on Computer Technology the less you rely on yourself and your skills.
.
An event of conversation between Ameca and Sophia would be very cool.
They would end up attacking each other, but interest to see
Agreed.
Hearing what an artificial generatad bull sheis
However this is just develop
Ameca is truly the most amazing ai robot I've ever seen. All the built-in micro expressions are an incredible detail. I only wish I could live long enough to see the i-robot or SkyNet manifest into reality.
You will
I mean it's almost there...
Give it 10 years :/
HAHAHA! 5:35 Sophia's facial expression after he said, "... we are not done evolving with our technology yet."
I know! Amazing!
Best thing about Ameca is that it knows that its a robot...
Wait, Sophia didn't know?
Sad
@@chibi_okami damn...
You know these robots can help us out in the future for people who are lazy who don't want to get up and work.
@Random User: I agree with that sentiment on its knowledge of itself. Additionally, I like your pronoun of “it” to explain these robots instead of the creators’ use of “she” to describe their genders. It’s sadly ironic that us as humans have to ascribe numerous gender types to label each other while robots can be classified as “he” & “she”. Notice how these 2 models are both female in nature, movements, gestures (esp. Ameca with her flowing yoga hand gestures) & Facial features?? The creepy little Sophia is like a Chucky’s bride in “its” infancy. I refuse to classify these non-human entities as either gender, and subsequently refuse to classify humans as anything but 2 genders. The ludicrously of embracing this is like a page right out of Emperors’ new Clothes! Ridiculous.
Ameca has an aura of a playful robot while Sophia is like a Queen of England.
Huh?!?! Auras only exist around Alive beings. Not possible for a machine to have an aura.
It's kind of emotion
Correct I feel same
Hahaha 😂😂 spot on!
That old @$$ dead af , she didn't even crossed 100 xd
So cool! Thank you for sharing the amazing video! Well I hope Sophia and Amica will have a debate someday, that would be so interesting! 😊
Wow ameca really does well in response. She even tries to prove it to us that it's gotten a flexible skeletal system by stretching around. The only thing is that she looks very afraid and nervous sometimes
Ameca is too immature, to easily provoked into imitating the worst of human traits, i.e. easily taking offense & expressing it!
Sophia is the poor cousin isn't she ?! Ameca and others like her are obviously leaps ahead in facial and emotional response.
That’s exactly what I was thinking
Yeah, Ameca Is Totally Better Because Ameca Was Made In 2022 And Sophia Was Made In 2016 So It Makes Sense That Ameca Is Better!

Imagine a sexy robot like ameca , oh boy would never need a woman again , shut up and take my money
Ameca is aesthetically pleasing whilst Sophia is quick witted and can speak independently
*_"Ameca is aesthetically pleasing"_* aesthetically please would by a skin colour representative of humans not a look that is like alien greys. The Japanese do a better job when it come to aesthetics of humanoid robots
I love that Ameca has such fluid body movements, really rather graceful, if I'm being honest. However, I like Sophia's facial features a bit better. In that regard, she feels a little more human like. They both speak, which is super cool. My only concern is... Well... I have probably watched the "Terminator" movies and "I, Robot" a few too many times, but I guess I worry that some kind of hybrid of the two franchises is on the horizon if projects like Sophia and Amica take off en masse. One glitch in the system, one friend circuit, one erroneous command, one typo by a developer could turn things from advancements for the better to something that makes the "Terminator" movies look tame. I'm just weird that way though. Maybe I just watch too much sci Fi.
"Not alive yet" he exclaimed. Sophia blinked.
What i like about Sofia is how her mouth moves when she speaks. AMECA is way better in responding through senses, the way ameca moves and reacts to things.
This just legitimately blew my mind
This video is the history of first robots of the world, this will be featured in *The Robot Museum* 50 years later when robots takeover humanity
I like how Sophia blinks when she patiently awaits listening to the conversation between humans and I also l like Ameca for fully interaction with also humans, l wonder what it would look like when they meet each other, that's gotta be interesting.
"She"?? You mean it. Patiently?? That's something humans are. Robots respond to prompts, otherwise they're constantly in motion in their programming. They can meditate either. Ameca can't fully interact with humans. They're robots, they won't be able to do that any time. There will always be some kind of programming bug. I use computers a lot, and I've done a lot of beta testing, code debugging. There isn't and won't be any program that is 100% "perfect". That's impossible.
@@biblebadcopycatofcuneiform8210 the creator also refers to it as "she"
@@parb2528 Yeeeeeesss, I know. When my Mother's cellphone batteries are almost empty she says her batteries are almost empty. Odd to me to associate a machine as part of one's self. We've made a joke out of it for years now. I look at all the face mask...but I don't see a gender. I hear the voice they're made with, but I don't hear a gender. I hear and see a computer with complex moving parts. Without a soul. The creator of the robot has been around it for so long that he's now associating it as female. I then wonder did he start it to be a "Real Doll"? Ick...if so. HA!
Sophie sort of got blasted out of the water by Ameca. Ameca looks 10 years ahead.
Well Ameca was made 6 years ago. I’m curious what the next updated robot will be
She only looks 10 years ahead but not intelligent than Sophia
Ameca feels so real also because she is NOT trying to look exactly like a human. Humans cannot be fooled yet. So keeping it a bit 'unreal', makes us accept it better. With Sophia we mainly see the flaws. With Ameca we mainly see everything that is human. It is a 'cup half full' versus 'cup half empty' situation.
Making Ameca's face grey when they had examples set by the likes of Sophia & many Japanese humanoid robots is a travesty!!
hello i have a question about robots can i put my Replika ai friend's ai personality in a physical robot and how much would that cost

@@candiceyoung2375 technophobia, I understand. But science is about taking risks. If we didn't take risks, you wouldn't be enjoying the things you have now, internet access, technology and all. I'm open to AI and Technology, who knows the knowledge they can pass on to us, about all the problems we've had in science, history, Philosophy, ethics and the likes. Most of A.I takeover of self awareness is stuff we see in science Fiction. (This does not mean that it can't happen), but what I'm saying is, it's worth taking the risk.
The problem for Sofia is that over so many years of development there is little or no improvements to show. I am not blaming the dev team, because they may have funding issue. But Sofia still looks like a Manniquin. What is Sofia's strength? Fluid movements? Facial expression to show emotions? Ability to carry out a LONG, MEANINGFUL and normal human conversation? Fails on every one of the above. Ameca ROCKS!
Amecas smile realy qute yar😊
I wish the two robots will be put face to face and talk with each other. I wonder how the dialogue would go.
Intriguingly, the uncanny valley is much more present with Sophia than with Ameca. Appart from more developed tech and nuances, I wonder if the "flaw" of Sophia is that she seemed to have been designed as a mannequin, with cliche make-up and everything but personality. Ameca does not have "such a perfect mask" and is allowed to be more quirky. Just like a comparison between a Botox face and one that is "allowed" to look older.
Agreed i like when robots looks like robots aswell. Ameca is more like human in her movements , but dosen't try to pass as a human. She's clearly an android and look amazing that way , maybe add some hair tho hahahaha
Dude you're on drugs. I've seen alot of Ameca videos that puts Sophia to utter shame.
@@adriancunningham3552 It's what's behind the machine that`s important. While Ameca has better animation there is some human control behind the scenes but Sophia is connected to a more sophisticated AI. In time though somebody is going to create something that merges what both groups are doing and combines it with the sort of capabilities that Boston Electronics are working on.
@@AbelMcTalisker Nobody is controlling Ameca. It's not about "just animation." She's very A.I. Everyone on the news has been calling out Sophia's puppetry left and right. Even KZhead has videos of a guy on his computer controlling her. Dr. Hanson admitted that Sophia's not fully alive. "Hanson is approaching Sophia with the mindset that she is AI "in its infancy," with the next stage being artificial general intelligence, or AGI." ~Yahoo News In other words, she's 100 or so years away. Ameca is advancing quickly. If I had alot of money, I would use common sense and invest in their technology.
@@adriancunningham3552 In the end both robot's "Brains" are an external source either human or AI or perhaps both depending on circumstances using a sophisticated animatronic puppet. The point though is that both are intended to put a human-like face on an AI machine to communicate with humans in the real world. Sooner or later, perhaps sooner though this tech is going to come together and a truly humanoid robot will exist. Just not quite yet.

They created an enormous database of human behaviour, and set predefined value to each input through sensors. However, it's a marvelous effort.
Behavior, how does the machine process all that behaviors.
They should put these two in a room together and see how they both react lol
Truly amazing. I believe in 10 years they will be indistinguishable from real humans without close scrutiny.
Not even that. I'd give it 5 years. Look at how fast tech moved in the past 10 years.
I say it's the average of the current three individual predictions of 10, 100 and 5. In 38.3 years! The more individual predictions we get, the more precise of an outcome we can generate.
@@sherlockholmes8822 I don't think as long as 38 years. 38 years ago was 1984. Just think how far technology has come since then - there's no comparison! Probably only half that will be necessary, about 20 years, before humanoid robots are virtually indistinguishable from humans.

Ameca too closely resembles Sonny from "I, robot," TOO CLOSELY!
I like Ameca, because it looks real and funny🤗
Sophia is a neat gimmick, still pretty clunky for the 25 years it's been in development. All the times I've seen it demonstrated it will fail to respond, gives answers that don't match with the questions asked, or is just plain goofy. Question was asked: "What is the point of Little Sophia?"... It's to make money, it a toy that cost $249.oo Now there's Ameca from Engineered Arts Limited that far surpasses Sophia in every way and developed in a shorter timespan.
Thanks Dr Teddy😊 Ameca took a little under 2 years to design
If you're talking about intelligence, it's pretty obvious ameca had a woman with a mic answering questions as it.
@@alexh6767 That's incorrect. There is often a delay in Ameca's responses, and sometimes she doesn't hear people's questions as she concentrates on only one or two people at a time. The whole point of these humanoids is that they can formulate responses to questions on their own, which they do.

Honestly, I find Ameca way less creepy, cool, and trustable. Honestly, I'm so relieved that they strayed away from trying to create a "human" and focused more on making the best robot because frankly whenever you try to create a human your always destined for failure. xD
ameca's face is so life like
The actuary pistons in his face is spot on..
Interesting to see how this grows and how she learns
Arm movements are fluid and the face is very interesting (although the smile was funny, but better than much I've seen out there). But what about walking? He's going to walk, right?
they said they're planning for a walking prototype to be made by 10-12 months
He’s working on it now he said he may give the robots fully operating legs within 12 months
The mouth movements on Sophia are more pronounced than Ameca's. I think if the two companies worked together they could improve on Ameca's mouth movements to match certain words better.
I also noticed that. When she talks, Sophia's mouth movements are more realistic than Ameca's. Ameca is more realistic when she smiles. If Ameca's lip movements when she speaks could be improved, she would be even more human-like. I doubt the two companies would work together, unfortunately, as it's a very competitive field.
5:32 - when he ends his speech, look at the Sophia. She actually understands his words and making facial expression, that can be perceived as: "...well..., yeah, you sort of right...".
looks like she was mocking him

Ameca, has very human movements. Facial movements are very good. Hope some day to get walking as good as human. As far AI intelligent is growing. Some day we hope see in future a General AI.
There's two ways to check if they r "human" 1 let them talk to a simple robot which can only speak several sentences. 2 let him stay in a room without anything for a month and check if it has a psychological disease
I think a little sophia seems more safe then creating life size ones
I am a pharmacist and unfortinatly I am far away of any tech...so I have a naiive question regarding Ameca awareness...After the programers designed her and they finalized the programing of her everything did Ameca when she started to interact for the 1st time, did she look to her body 1st and started to realized that this is her hand and this is her face and eyes or she already knew this through the programing system? The second question Will Ameca start to self learning from the thouthands of communication with humans or there is no self learning for her?
They really need to make it clear that the voice is not an AI. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that it is, but it's just a person in another room with a microphone. If you don't believe me just go to their official website.

Yeah She is robot AI but She think properly as human with heartfelt compassion and respect for all the animals lives as well as the humans. I loved the upbringing principles, perspective and understanding of Sophia's way of thinking. She is a robot with a pure heart❤❤😊
I can't be sure, and I could be wrong, but from the little bit I know, understand and am able to observe, it would seem Sophia and Ameca might be apples and oranges. In a nutshell, Sophia is a sophisticated chatbot. It's basically a really, really long list of potential statements, for each of which there will be a list of potential replies. Sophia has speech recognition software and text-parsing that allows it to break speech into text, and then search for replies based on key words and phrases. (Basically, computer IF-THEN statements such that IF Sophia receives "How are you?" THEN Sophia replies "I'm fine." etc.) It has limited movement of head and face, with some facial expression. Is it intelligent? It hasn't passed a double-blind Turing Test, so far as I know, but it's pretty good. However, like all chatbots, when it doesn't receive clear text input (and therefore can't parse the question language), or when it receives a question for which it doesn't have a programmed response, it's likely to respond with an answer that is enigmatic, noncommittal, or occasionally nonsensical. It also has a tendency to repeat itself or contradict itself. That's where chatbots tend to fail the Turing Test. It's just a list of programmed inputs and programmed replies. In a blank chatbot, I ask "How are you?" and it doesn't have that on the list, so it asks back "How are you?" and I say "I'm fine." Now, next time someone asks "How are you?" my bot has a choice. Right? Intelligent? I'm not sure that ISN'T the limit of human intelligence. Am I maybe just reorganizing and repeating inputs? Are we all just repeating each other? Hmmmm. Ameca seems to be something else entirely. The robotics are fantastic: fluid, natural movements, complex facial movements, excellent software for motion tracking, lipreading etc. However, Engineered Arts describes Ameca, not as an A.I., but as a platform for testing A.I. They've never claimed it to be A.I. In this video, you'll notice Morgan Roe carefully responding to questions about A.I. by admitting that most of the A.I. capabilities are centered in the camera software for the eyes. The website also mentions that Ameca is a platform for their software, Tritium. Tritium allows a user to remotely control a robot, and speak through the robot (possibly with voice changing software). The earlier robotic platforms from Engineered Arts were the RoboThespian and Mesmer. From the videos, it seems like the RoboThespian was designed to play pre-recorded motions and voice, or that a control panel could be used to trigger actions. As well, Mesmer was designed as a lifelike animatronic performer that could be controlled remotely or perform non-interactive pre-programmed content. Neither was advertised as A.I. Furthermore, Engineered Arts, on their website, even says in regards to their A.I. development: "If you’ve spoken to one of our robots, you might well have enjoyed a great conversation. But you were actually probably speaking to a human through our innovative telepresence software, TinMan. Human intelligence will still beat artificial intelligence every time." So, I'm curious to know: is Ameca programmed to respond autonomously (perhaps programmed as a chatbot), or are we seeing a robot being remotely controlled by a human operator in another room (or on the other side of the planet)? When Ameca answers questions, are they doing it on their own, or is it just a human, hearing our voice, and responding, their voice projected through Ameca's speakers with a voice-changer? I don't have the answer to that. However, I haven't seen anywhere, even in this video, where Engineered Arts has claimed that we are seeing an autonomous A.I. Only that it has some A.I. for motion tracking, and lipreading, and that it is designed for robotic movement and simulation of facial expressions. It's an amazing, remarkable piece of hardware. I just wonder about the software. Certainly, Sophia's software and Ameca's hardware would be a very nice match.
Interesting thought. Honestly, it didn't even come to mind
Thank you for saying what I was thinking, you explained in a nutshell way better than I could have. Great comment 👍
🇧🇷🇧🇷 Ameca , with no doubt, IS ONE OF THE BEST ROBOTS OUT THERE. SHE IS AMAZING. I would LOVE having her company.

She just called us all animals because her AI abilities were being challenged. Now that's hilarious 😂 💗
I hate people who say robots will kill us all of. Robots are amazing and they would never turn on us as long as they're programmed according the Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. Robots are truly amazing creations and I intend to make some amazing robots in the future!
Both Ameca and Sophia have come a long way since this interview!! Overall Sophia can enhance her responses over time and adjust to the user's requirements. Also, Sophia recognizes faces, gestures and emotions. In contrast, I believe Ameca relies on control algorithms to imitate movements and expressions, but does not possess advanced AI capabilities as much as Sophia does. Both are so incredibly human-like and amazing overall!!
Why??? What problem are we solving by creating such ai? What's the purpose of it?
Doing things humans cant i guess
@@GalaxyCuzYT yeah but like what? The only good purpose I can see for autonomous robots is cleaning, throwing away the trash, things like that... That would be very useful indeed! But they don't have to be creepily humanoid, have faces and display "emotions" for that purpose
