Part 1: kzhead.info/sun/YJiwdZRvrYmEqYk/bejne.html Good to watch in case you're wondering why I haven't featured some obvious cars.
Why are you called Stype, do you have a Jaaaaag?
@@Ze_Hans I don't, but I see what you're trying to get here :)
Haha, Merc-Benz E was good and reliable? What? My uncle in 1999 bought a 1987 M-Benz E. He owned it for 1 year, suffered from engine and many other problems, which sucked his money. Then he sold it at least. Hooray! Just 12-year old Merc-Benz was rubbish that deserves nothing but a thrash can.
@@rarog1605 one bad case means thay are all bad? Also, your uncle's Benz was used. Who knows what the previous owner did to it to make it so unreliable
@@TopCarsTV still. German cars are unreliable
Again asking you to make a video on the cars with the worst interiors and best exteriors😂
I don't find that interesting. Sorry
@@TopCarsTV Especially because there's a huge subjective grey area. I consider most Porsche interiors to be sturdy, purposeful and elegant. On the other side, Mercedes feels cheap and flimsy nowadays, pseudo-posh and full of piano-plastic.
@@TopCarsTV is that because Maserati granturismo would be at the top of that list 😂
@@luckycorn8590 😂😂
@@TopCarsTV okay pal😂
The 7th gen Celica wasn't bad, it was just too late.. 190 hp from a high-revving 1.8L is Honda territory, and people still obsess over the Integra Type R for similar numbers. Obviously, the ITR was a more special car but I believe if that Celica were released in the US in like '97 it would have a completely different reputation. Though the 2ZZ was especially vulnerable to oil starvation, which is the only possible reason I could see for Toyota not offering the engine in the MR2 Spyder. Which I think is actually a better example here than the Celica
Agree, The MR2 3gen went South.
Ive driven an ST205 Celica and then a tuned T230 with a 2ZZ and the AWD swapped from a ST205. There wasnt a much of a difference. Proof that Toyota wanted to kill the Celica after they got busted in WRC.
@@vapor4dentrue, no turbocharged or supercharged variants
ZZW30 and the 7th gen Celica are great I just think that they had wasted potential the 2zz is one of the greatest Toyota engines of all time and it made waves in the import market but it was simply the fact that people didn't want a small liftback 2+2 anymore
i had an 03 gt, and loved it. it just sucks toyota moved the platform to the scion tc. all that rally history flushed. google Russian camo celica if you want to see it!
The most beautiful 80% hand made Porsche 911 (993) and after that came the ugliest Boxter-based 996. How on EARTH this is not mentioned? Wow.
Would love to see some videos about car design, really like your taste and humor !
I've done many before
@@TopCarsTV More pls, you've posted a comment about ugly cars aged well and I think that's a great topic for a vid
@@user-te4ei7uu8l he made a video on that too
8:36 that submarine sound is why stype videos rock.
The 2ZZ-GE was really a bulletproof engine just that it made way more sense in the Toyota Auris and Toyota Runx , it was spectacular in those hatchbacks
Nowadays, the 348 became better than the 355 in any aspect besides the soound. Di Montezemolo didnt like the 348 because of straight line acceleration, but in terms of drivig pleasure its better than the 308/328 and the 355.
Oh yeah, first sequel vid from Stype, I also wanted to ask you, what is your favorite car from what was supposed to be the Holy Quadruplets, but only ended up being the Holy Trinity, McLaren P1, Blitzkreig 918, Douchebag LaDouchebag, or the CX-75? I rank them like this: 1.CX-75 2.P1 + 918 3.Maserati's Step-Dad
918 is my fav
@@TopCarsTV thats nice to know
@@TopCarsTV my favorite too
So, you don't like the LaFezza? Personally, it's my favorite one, especially looks wise.
@@nicolasgoncalvespereira655 I like Jaguar and Porsche overall the most out of these brands because overall as a brand, they appeal to a ton of consumers and I find it hard to hate them(unless you count Jaguar Land Rover’s infamous reliability issues)
To me, the best Type R that is released in the same year as the FN2 is the FD2R. Even if it's a sedan, It's faster than both the FN2 and EP3 making 225HP and it only weights 2,800lbs which is 100 pounds less than the FN2 Type R. also, it sounds good. It's even the last NA JDM Type R. There's even the Mugen RR that produces 256hp more than the stock Type R, weights less than the Type R being on 2414lbs and even more agressive than the Type R. To me, the FD2 is the only true Civic Type R unlike the FN2 that should be called the Si and not a Type R. The British should've brought the FD2R to the Europe instead of making their own Type R. And also I heard the FD2 is comfortable to drive unlike the FN2.
Well what do you expect, Brits are pretty naive and weak
4:54 The oil crisis happened in 1973. In 1971, it was the federal clean air act and the California emission regulations that induced a decrease in engines power. The Mitsubishi/Dodge Challenger appeared in 1978, not in 1974.
Hey, this video is extremely well made and ertertaining! Couldn't be any better! Fantastic stuff! I must watch your other videos too!
Always an education & ALWAYS FUN ! Great video.
Honorable mentions are the impala the Mustang II and the beetle
It’s funny how the mustang II is so denigrated while a clean II is bringing more money than a clean fox body.
I'd like to mention some more cars, especially rather new ones, which I think were/looked better in the previous generation. BMW 7-Series 2020 > current one Mercedes AMG GT pre-facelift > post 2020 face lift F80/F82 M3/M4 > G80/G82 M3/M3 Huracan > Huracan Evo Ford Focus > whatever the new one is supposed to be W222 S-Class (most beautiful Mercedes sedan ever) > W223 S-Class. Giulia pre face lift > Giulia post face lift McLaren 720S > McLaren 750S In general I think Mercedes and BMW dropped the ball in recent years, Mercedes became very samey and uninspired and BMW just went down an absolute design fever dream. On the contrary I'd like to point out that Cadillac, Toyota and Honda greatly improved
I completely agree, with you. Thought I was the only one who didn't like them.
Nah facelift GT is way WAY better. Better looks (panamericana grille), digital dashboard, more modern tech, how is it any worse? the evo's looks and price tag are questionable but the interior is far superior to that of the OG Huracán. all your other takes though I agree with, especially the S class one. that being said the new s class is not by any means ugly, just not as muscular and doesn't have as much road presence. Facelift W222 is the best looking S class ever
I love the new s class but it's not as elegant and it's more sharp
Also the M3 got worse. Until the E96 generation, it looked good, but after that it became generic. And the latest one is both generic and ugly
What's wrong with the Huracan Evo?
The Taurus SHO that gen tho was cool, prices are sky rocketing if you have a low mileage example today. The beetle too had an R version with a hopped up Turbo and huge rally wing from their rally version with a cool body kit from the factory . Was pretty cool, they’re also insanely safe, been looking at getting one for my middle daughter that turns 16 next year , JUST because they are SO safe and she thinks they are “SO cute” lol glad she loves those and not a new Mercedes 😮
SHO is an amazing car. With a different bumper it even looks less froggy. Beetle RSI was the top version. Those are super rare.
I’ve seen one beetle RSI in person, they’re cool cars. I can’t imagine what the prices are for one, far more than I’d spend but still really cool. I love the SHO Taurus of any gen though a manual first or second gen would be the one I’d choose. You can still get them pretty cheap. Plus the best looking intake manifold ever. I will say TopCars that you’re 100% wrong about the celica. It’s been one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever had, super fun to drive, cheap and easy to work on, super fun in the twisties and it’s so light that the hp #’s work well in it. It’s an incredibly fun car, I’m at 250k and if the engine goes I’ll be putting a new one in. It’s just a great fun little car and gets almost 30mpg to boot.
Was waiting for your upload . nice video
Thanks for another entertaining list. Cheers.
The nsx is more beautiful than the 348? - Rubbish...
Informative content!👍
Love your vids Stype
this needs a part 3
The Celica had the best front wheel drive chassis I've driven. In NZ the VVTi version had 190 HP and no particular reliability issues. Sure it was ugly compared to it's beautiful predecessor but was better in many ways. (The NZ variant at least)
Biggest problem of the FN2 Civic might have been the Japanese FD2 version, which was just better. As for the 348, I don't care if it is good or not, I always liked how it looked. Some design cues from the iconic Testarossa, but used in moderation. Considering that the 355 was basically a heavily improved 348 (and everyone loved it!), I wonder if it would be possible to put the bodywork of a 348 on a 355? I bet some would consider this sacrilege though....
I searched for a Mercedes W124 E500, and they are simply not sold. The owners who have them simply refuse to sell them. I had a doctor neighbour who had one with 1.9 million KM on it.
Those things run forever
Change the thumbnail man I can smell it
Thanks for the Awesome and funny video STYPE!!!
As a Australian I was hurt on the inside when Holden went out
Hey Stype, love your videos! I have one question, what’s your opinion on the Genesis G90? Is the design better than the 7 series or S-Class?
I'm not Stype, but for me, the G90 looks even worse than the new 7-series
for some its good because of all the futuristic bit but for some it's ugly
i love it when u upload 😀😀
I had a W124 E220 manual and had a friend with a w123 230E. All my electronics worked and with regular maintenance it can last a lifetime.
Back when Mercedes built cars to last. Now we have pre- planned obsolescence. Keep up on maintenance and you have a car for a lifetime.
I had a 1994 w124 E220 .. was a good daily runner
I have a W210 wagon. It has some rust spots for sure, but the rest of the car is really solid.
Cutting deep right away, im already hurt from the stab at BMW and the CTR. :( Loving the sequel!
The E65 7-Series is still better looking than the current one 😂
Honourable mentions Chevrolet Impala, Ford Mustang II (Cobra) and VW Beetle
Yes! 3/3
I love the 348, its beatiful and fun to drive. Also looking at it now, it is cheaper than all the famed japanese sportscars of the time. Except maybe the 300ZX but that car has enough problems by its own.
Hey Stype I don’t know if you did this but how about the best wheel design of every car also I wanted to ask What you think of the Subaru legacy spec b (the sedan one)
When I watched a race in the Australian V8 Supercars Championship and a Vauxhall Insignia / Holden ZB Commodore was on screen. I just gave it the Finger. Or as we say: “Give em the Ups”.
You raise some fair points... But I disagree with you on several opinions. That's the beauty of taste - everyone is different. I enjoy the channel - have a nice day 😁
To be honest and correct, the Holden Commodore has been nothing more that Opel sedans with an Australian logo on it. Senator, Omega, Insignia. You name it, Holden rebadged it.
Not the VF generation.
@@TopCarsTV true, but it's more of an exception
@Valerio Papa a bit more went into the commodore then just a rebage mate😂
Finally! I can see a mention about the celica! Anyways, i liked the sequel of the cars worse than before
right off the baat its awesome next can u do best French and Qurky Sports and Hot Hatch cars
The 7th gen Celica isnt bad at all. Its pretty reliable. I've had 3 Celicas, and my daily is hitting 276k. Probably the cheapest car to own as well as work on. Id definitely recommend a Celica to someone thats just learning to wrench or learn stick.
Just bought my 3rd Celica a couple weeks ago. 2nd 6spd GTS. I drove about 200 miles and idk how long it had no coolant, but when I pulled over to get gas it was extremely low on coolant, and was still not overheating. I could touch the engine indefinitely without it burning me. Going down a mountain, the temp gauge would drop down to like 120. Was running rough but made it 360-something miles and refused to die. Those 2zzge engines are good little motors
They’re great cars and even the GT is pretty quick because they’re so light. Like you said, they’re incredibly easy to work on and parts are cheap. They put that engine in other models so I’m not sure why the celica get the hate. They look cool, super nimble in the corners, steering is tight, comfortable, reliable etc.
Babe wake up, stype tv just posted
I'm surprised you didn't include the BMW 1 Series F40 in the video
2:30 everyone: damn the old merc is goddamn strong Me:damn that fuel tank is beefy
stype can you do the top 10 hypercars (not super but hyper) please
3:03 Funny fact, I saw live that failure on a Mercedes CLS. Driver got stuck in the middle of the street.
I love your video
W video as always
1:06 the amount of extra horsepower added to the type R is within the noise as in it could be tempature and moister difference
Stype, does the fiat multiple new design is better or worse than the old one?
Both. It is less ugly, but also less special
@@TopCarsTV it is a family mpv so how important is a "special" design really
Funny how that Ford Taurus reminds me of a Kia Spectra becoz of the front lol
Meanwhile teslas blowing up without a reason
Where
Noooooooo!!!! Not the Celica mk7! My first Toyota and the most fun to drive car out of all that I've owned. It was cheap to buy and run but most importantly as a young man - cheap to insure. Well, at least I've owned a car that's on the number 1 slot on Stype's list! 😅😅😅
The Ferrari F348tb was and is amazing, it may not be as fast as some other cars but look at it this way, it feels, drives and is as fun as any other Ferrari. Hell, everyone loves the 355 and it esentially is a faster 348. I don't care a car is a bit slower as long as its fun to drive and it doesn't get much better than that
Well, the 348 now getting better with the age, as it has much better steering feeling, than 355, which is just faster on strtraight line. Montezemolo didnt like the acceleration of 348, as some very first new german power sedans were faster, but nowaday its the same. So as an oldtimer, the 355 has only one advantage over the 348 - and it is the sound.
The huge drop in power around 1970 is connected to prohibition of leaded gasoline, not fuel crysis. The compression ratio crashed, and so the power.
those insert pictures are hilarious 😅
Great video! BUT it's missing one car. And that is the mitsubishi eclipse
0:16 that "eeewwww" was personal 💀
very good video
Hey stype could you do the most popular modern cars in each country
The EClass w210... I know someone who bought a new E Class W210 and after just a month the hood rusted through.
What are your thoughts about the current Chevy trailblazer? I believe they made the car a whole lot worse than anything on the road. Once an explorer challenger and now a rerun of a hyundai model😂
Easiest honorable mentions yet Impala Mustang II Cobra and Beetle
Had a poster of a testarossa when i was young..still my dream car with the lambo diablo haha.
Babe, wake up, topcarstv uploaded
I'm starting to learn more about cars. But wasn't the 1980 Buick Skylark worth a shot here? I know eco rules were rough in the early 80's but the car lost almost 3 times it's power in comparison to previous gens.
The entire video could be cars that lost power in the 70s, but that's boring to listen to them
@@TopCarsTV I hear you man.
I was taken by surprise by that LH slander😂
Thanks!
WAKE UP, HE UPLOADED!!!!
AFAIK Already the late Mercedes (W/S/C)124 also had their trouble with rust, because in 1993 they switched to water-based paint and the cleaning periods of these dip tanks were initially too long, so that they got infested with bacteria, it's a lottery, you might got one where the tank got cleaned recently, those rather don't rust but if it got infested paint it's very prone to rust. The Volkswagen Fox - in europe it was the successor to the Lupo but while the Lupo was just 3.53 metres long the Fox was 3.83 metres, just around 8 centimetres shorter than the contemporary Polo Mk IV. And they've built two "special" Lupo models: The 3L (which was critically acclaimed but didn't became a large commercial success) and the GTI with a whopping 125 hp (which was also used for the Lupo Cup) - the up! GTI got only 115 hp.
Honestly the FN2 Civic Type R is my favorite car , it’s look nice and still very fun and have a high 8k rpm redline
Yeah the Testerossa Sucks compared to the 1984 GTO i know that from having both in Gran Turismo 7.
I really wish Ferrari should bring back the Ferrari 348TB because it looks really cool
The rear does look amazing. But the rest is better on a 308
@@TopCarsTV True
Quite like the 348 , not as good as the 355 but cheaper to run and maintain . Looks better than anything ferrari currently make .
This is a surprising one
4:28 good thing that they made the F355 right After the 348 and they didnt close the V8 cars program, maybe we wouldnt have the 360 Modena or the F430, or even the whole GT3, GT2 and GTE class cars we had in the last 10 years.
The 4th gen Commodore included the VE. It was the foundation for the VF. GM spent $1.07 Billion including the Caprice.
So what years Celica is he bashing on ? I had 2 1990 - 92 Celica's the ones with the retractable headlights....there were awesome cars...I wanted to get a 2001 model but by then I need to get a larger vehicle...

The main issue with the 7th gen Celica was, it came out late. Maybe if it came out earlier, things would be a lot better. Granted a high-revving 1.8L was a Acura speech and Toyota cashed on it so late, if they at least released the Celica earlier, things would be way different. All things considered, the 7th gen Celica isn't really bad, some people just love seeing it as ''wuuuhhhh not same as the original'', which is why every car gets hated on these days.
But still inferior to the 6th Gen
@@ichwersunstIn terms of performance the 7th gen is actually universally better than the 6th gen if you don't count the far more expensive GT4
That Taurus needs an ocean gate logo down the side 💀
FYI... There was no gas shortge in 1971, but the US guvmint DID require lead reduction in gasoline, the dreaded unleaded. The gas shortages started with the Yom Kippur war in 1973 and kept going. Embargoes, shortages, gas lines, gasless Sundays, alternate-day refueling (by license #)...in oil-rich Houston many companies hired college students to sit in gas lines all day just so the myriad of company cars were always full. No, that's not an urban legend; my mother was Secretary-Treasurer for one of those companies, and they had 4 part time gas-liners (2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon).
I really like the way the 7th celica looks, but it’s a shame it’s not as good of a car it should have been
Sometimes new things are worse (or they get greedy)
ROCKSTAR games to be a sample
Opinion respected on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Like), Ferrari 348 (Love), the 3rd-Gen Taurus (Like and prefer it over the previous two generations) and, the last-gen Celica (Like). And, I have to be honest here, the 3rd-Gen Taurus actually looks better than the Accord and Camry. I prefer it's styling over the more boring stylings of those two cars. It's unique styling is also it's biggest strength. It has more drag coefficient than the previous Tauruses and it's aerodynamic styling is also why it won the 1999 NASCAR Season. Yeah, the NASCAR versions aren't the same as it's road-going counterparts. But, it still proved the benefits of it's sleek design. With all due respect, the last-gen Celica has great styling and can be fun to drive due to it's lighter weight. It's styling is an improvement over the previous generations and the reason why Toyota didn't take it rallying is because Toyota switched over to the Corolla in the 1998 season. And, the Ferrari 348 is still a great car despite it's reputation. It didn't have the tech that the 300ZX and the NSX did. But, what they didn't have over those two is the feel whenever you drive around in it. The 348 has more personality than those two and it's interior has a better feel to it than it's Japanese rivals. And, I actually preferred the newer E-Class over the older ones. Yes, they might be less reliable. But as long as if you know how to maintain it and don't take it to an untrustworthy mechanic, it'll be just as reliable as the previous generation. And, rust isn't an issue for people who live in California if you plan to move over there. So yeah, that generation of the E-Class is reliable as long as if it's in the right hands. It's pretty much the same case with any Alfa Romeo car.
I loved the celica in need for speed underground. Maybe i can find one cheap if it's so bad
Celica gen 7 was and is a brilliant car. I own one and trust me it is still special. Underrated.
7:41 My reaction to the twd clementine comic book
The successor of the 90s type r looks really good, for my opinion
Discovered your channel, binge watched many episodes. Very entertaining, but I have one feedback: The e at the end of „coupe“ is not silent. Check correct pronunciation.
Coupe vs Coupé American pronunciation vs French original word
@@TopCarsTV seems one of these slight differences between British and US English.
1. Chevrolet Impala 2. Aforementioned Ford Mustang 3. VW Beetle
Damn the ferrari 348 is my crush car from my childhood and still today 🙈
What about the Jag XF? They screwed up by not giving it a v8 for 2016 onwards
My only argument is gonna be that the Civic Type R looked better, even if it got heavier.
The F355 imo is one of the most gorgeous Ferraris ever. Still unreliable
Oke i confess as a former honda mechanic and there for driving honda's for over 20 years your main issue fn2 compared to his predecessor has one flaw. That model also has a McPherson setup, you have to go back to ek models for dubble wishbone suspension.... and I like the fn2 look back included splitglass and all. Later models not so much
