In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

the "wisdom teeth-chicken bone mug" not getting 5 points is the most upsetting thing in all of task master history.
Between that, the musical task and the painting task, Danielle deserved so much more this episode
That prize task was an absolute scam for that, yeah. I'm okay with the order of the rest (personally would've done head 3, ring 4, mug 5, but swapping ring and head for comedic value is logical), but that mug is so cursed and absolutely NEEDED to be 5.
Not as bad as the under table cushion spin.
Nina brought young people "cursed" while Tom expected "jinxed".
Which was sad because Tom brushed it off as she was trying to explain young people's "cursed"
Brings a whole new (accidental, since as mentioned Tom was willfully ignorant of the newer meaning) context to the winner lol
Still her rotten veg wasn't even close. The tiki takes it for sure
Nina kinda sucks lol. She's cute, but she sucks
@@gabrieldinixyeah, he’s not exactly a fan of listening to women, but loves letting jimmy and luke lobby ad nausium
I can't believe Danielle only got two points on her song! I thought, for sure, she was going to win that task.
That might be my new favorite song ever made on all of Taskmaster. He deserved the boos!
I feel like she is continually robbed in every subjective scoring task.
Her song was 1000% better than Luke’s, that’s for sure, so I am *shocked* she didn’t even eke out three points. (Danielle’s and Julia’s songs were IMHO the best two.)
@@Dirtydeets95I can't believe you would say such a thing 😂 May I suggest both songs to Rosalind and of course, "Tree Wizard." Not to mention that I think Julia's song was better than Danielle's in this episode. Also, "Over My Shoulder" and "Pants on a Stick"
She was robbed for the music portion. Julia deserved 0 on that shit.
I'm so glad I can now spell 'antidisestablishmentarianism' just by envisioning Julia's easy guide!
Learning how much overconfidence fuels Nina as a person has been my favorite part of this season.
There have been plenty of inept guests in the history of Taskmaster, but I don't think there have been any as _delightfully_ inept as Nina.
I think it's more feigning confidence than actual "overconfidence," but the result is the same 😂
Nina is bae
Dani got robbed, her song and pineapple were both amazing.
Yeah, Tom does seem to be a bit biased towards Julia. Her song was good, but it didn't deserve 5 points.
@@LuisGustavoBDhe wants her goodies
And her prize task was solid gold
Yeah, with the prize task too, she should have run away with the episode
"To know which way left is, you have to know what an L looks like."
Massive props to Nina and Dani for presenting a united front.
Unified in dumbness. It was amazing to watch!
@@Inacurate Not dumb, they painted on canvas, and that canvas was both below them and below the task. Ambiguity on the task was the problem.
@@Watesoftheoasis I think the sheet they painted on was probably a differnt fabric, but we never saw it close enoguh to tell.
Opening youtube and seeing a new episode of Taskmaster is really one of the great joys in life.
Tomorrow we get a new season on here!
So many tasks in this episode where I thought Danielle should have gotten more points: her mug in the prize task was clearly the most cursed item there, her song was golden, her painting on the canvas technically followed the task, and her live task pineapple was the best of all of them. She lost the prize task just because the Taskmaster wanted to make fun of Luke. Julia got 5 points in the song task because everyone knows she can actually sing, despite the Taskmaster even pointing out that she clearly didn't write any lyrics. In the painting task she and Nina broke no rules, and the tasks are supposed to be "rules as written", not "rules as intended", but they got only 1 point each because people were mad they didn't follow the intention of the task. In the prize task even Luke beat her somehow, despite doing nothing but drawing stripes on a few post-its (with nothing but stripes, not even whiskers, a nose, or anything else to indicate a Tasmanian tiger (which don't even have stripes on their faces)).
I think the engagement ring story is more cursed. If that mug had won I would have been shocked, doesn't fit the vibe of the taskmaster to put it first.
The in moment insight to have Nina look in the camera and deliver that line is probably the highlight of this season. It's just someone excelling at their job and you gotta respect that
Julia might be one of my all-time favorite Taskmaster contestants. I swear, every episode, she and Nina absolutely bring the entertainment.
This entire cast has a few screws loose and I love them for it! Not one of them is actually good at any of the tasks lmao 😂 usually there’s one person who’s good at them but not this season. They all fail miserably and it’s wonderful to watch
Julias spelling task attempt is the kind of incompetent, wild and impressive stuff this season can do so well, love it.
Correctly spelling antidisestablishmentarianism is “incompetent”? 😳 What a strange take….🤔
Danielle’s song is currently the best thing I’ve seen this season I genuinely don’t think it’ll be topped
Danielle was ROBBED
On prize task, song task, AND live task
tom and nina make such a funny duo, love their energy together
Since they're doing a seris on "How to Win Taskmaster", might I suggest: "If the task tells you to choose a word, pick a short one. If it tells you to choose a letter, pick a common one."
I dunno...that's asking to be a "write [something] without using your chosen word/letter" task.
Loved Danielle's song. It embodies the spirit of the show - absurdity.
I'm pretty sure that the engagement ring was the actual most cursed item.
Something other county’s version of Taskmaster being released has helped me realize is that I can never get enough Taskmaster!
task master all the things!
We need a canadian one, we aren't as close to the Brits anymore but we are still friends
@@Dylan-in2np try american again, but this time get funny people 🤷♂
@ianitor we need a separate one from the states they dominate all American media, and we have a lot of good comedians, too. I'd kill to see Jon Lajoie do this.
@@Dylan-in2np works for me, more the merrier
Nina's unbridled confidence in the tasks is such a joy watch!
Julia should have received a bonus point for word choice difficulty
All the information is on the task
Not really difficult. It's just long. I was actually surprised that some of these native English speakers can't spell. Then I remember that I had to learn my English word by word, written and spoken, instead of picking it up as a kid from my parents and friends. Doesn't make me better than them, but it does always surprise me before I remember how I was taught, and also that my grammar skills in my own native language are like... well, they 'aren't'. That's the problem.
Danielle was the victim of highway robbery in broad daylight for that song. No one else made me laugh so hysterically, and none of the other lyrics will live forever imprinted on my brain!😊
What a banger episode! But I do feel like Danielle was robbed in the so g task T_T
The comment section really should keep in mind this quote from main Tom in episode 2 :"We were worried that you were gonna be sincere there for a second. But you fixed it, didn't you? I really appreciated it, because we are a comedy show."
Getting double the amount of Taskmaster episodes this week is pretty amazing!
Saddest part about Julias spelling is she had paint and paper and didnt just write it down
But she was supposed to use the items of the chosen color to spell the word, which she did, unlike Luke, who used white paper with green crayons. Not to mention, her attempt brought her to the edge of sanity, which is always a win in my book lol
She did write it down but she decided that didn't count lol
or best
@@evgenii1508to say Luke "used" white paper to spell his word means that Julia "used" the brown desk and multi-colored rug to spell hers
She is a professional entertainer and understands the best way to use television as a medium. Desiree goes through a similar process in the pop the balloon task.
Danielle only getting two points for that Fleetwood Mac-esque song = Susan Wokoma only getting three points for Chain Bastard = injustice !
Whomever's running this channel, can you get a message to Ed Gamble to start doing international TM's on the podcast? Tell him to stop touring, stop writing books, stop off-menuing, and get his fucking priorities straight!
Last year in his "this podcast goes on hiatus" announcement, Ed hinted at the possibility that there might be NZ/AU coverage this year. Now that the eps are legally available, let’s hope he finds the time…
danielle's song was so good hsghs an instant taskmaster classic, this season and season 2 of the NZ TM are definitely my favorites out of the non UK versions !
2 POINTS WTF no words she is so underscored.. need this masterpiece on spotify asap...
A taskmaster of all the assistants from the various countries would be amazing!
Julia spelling "antidisestablishmentarianism" in 53 minutes was impressive. But, Neener A'Yama is the bestest south of the Equator.
This cast is very funny and extremely likeable.
Agreed, I honestly love all of them. Greater Tom and Lesser Tom are great as well
Absolutely, they're all so fun in their own unique ways and have good chemistry.
Until seeing this, I thought Josh Thomson was the best recorder player I'd ever seen. Kudos Nina Oyama for that wicked solo
I’m dying at the fact they kept their ‘costumes’ on… on stage with the prizes still holding watermelon on her head! Clapping with spaghetti!?! What was going ON
Nina slowly eating half the spaghetti and letting the rest dribble down her front as the conversation goes on is so surreal and so hilarious
one of the best seasons of them all, i love all of the contestants
Last episode the TM said Luke's head looks like a butt. This episode TM said it is straight up cursed.
Luke's leaning into it
That painting task was edited so perfectly
All these weeks later and my American ears will not adjust to “Danny-elle.”
wait what how do Americans pronounce it ? pretty much the same, no?
How I've heard it said, people tend to skip over or ghost the 'i'. Smth like "Dan-yell"@@NFS136
@@NFS136 Americans say "Dan-yell." No long E sound in the middle.
@petercamp7428 same!! My cousin is a Danielle and it really throws me off for some reason lol.
This show reminds me of my favorite line from a little bit of fry and Laurie. "We might be dumb but we aren't clever."
Julia has become the most entertaining and enjoyable performer on taskmaster.
Thank you for including the cut to ads in this one! It's a lot less jarring :)
Hats off to the production team and editors on that song task!
11:20 Happy to see one ad break snuck itself in :D Was someone not careful while editing? If so, do it more often, we need the ad breaks! ❤
When Tom cashman called the other Tom Main Tom was asking myself "Why not major Tom?"
Danielle is the best! I am laughing tears over here😂
Merry Taskmas!
How do I get secondhand embarrassment from EVERY contestant?! 🤣
I would love to see an episode where it's all the Taskmasters and Assistants as the contestants and the 'Taskmaster' is Eugenio Derbez
Okay, i'm now officially a fan of the australian version! And a little bit in love with nina 😏
Julia's color/word task is among the top TM mental breakdowns for me
Nina and Danielle got robbed, they followed all of the rules
The task also mentioned the canvas was on the ground
@@kdpflush If the cops bust down the door of your second story apartment and shout at you to "Get down on the ground!" while pointing guns at you, would you comply by: 1) dropping to the floor, or 2) attempting to go outside? Now, if they had said the canvas must not leave the grass or the ground _floor_ (the term that Australians use for what Americans call "first floor"), there'd be no wiggle room.
Except it wasnt a canvas they painted on. It was the tablecloth/cloth below the canvas hanging there
@@ForumcoldiArchon canvas a strong, coarse unbleached cloth made from hemp, flax, cotton, or a similar yarn. "a canvas bag"
@@kdpflush agree…and an elevated decking surface is not the ground. Whether the drop cloth material is canvas or otherwise. It was foolish of them to not even bother to look over the deck ledge just in case. The show is Taskmaster- it’s known for twists and turns and difficulty. It’s NOT known for straightforward, simple tasks.
“Don’t you think if maybe you stared into that and unfocused after awhile you’ll see your regret 😂😂😂 love Tom Gleeson
I'd never heard the word palaver before! so i don't know how much to really blame him...but he was a little disadvantaged by his accent, since in American English the R at the end is pretty obvious :') sending him a pavlova from overseas.
Loved Nina's recorder solo!
“I’ve actually been to Pirth 3 times but I didn’t want to seem arrogant” Great line there
Yeah, I laughed out loud at that
If you ever visit Perth don’t let them see your spelling here 😂
@@lynchianthirsttrap Especially not with the original in Scotland. 😂
I really like this cast. They seem to be more self deprecating that most contestants and I'm here for it.
This is the only other version of taskmaster that comes close or maybe even is better than the original
NZ is definitely up top. So good.
Season 2 of NZ is my favorite season across all English speaking TM
LMAOO The musical task is one of my favorites ever! 🤣
At somepoint they should do a taskmaster Tournament of Champions international
Maybe, for logistics reasons, they could group them by hemispheres.
Came to write how much Jimmy's song was giving Aunty Donna. Then Danielle started... Oh. My. God.
I've said that after 1 episode, but I can confirm it now: as a completely neutral viewer (I'm Swiss), the Australian TM is definitely my favorite (both the TM and his assistant). (I've watched the UK, NZ and Australian ones)
Yes the Toms are very likable. I love that they present the dynamic a bit differently. But I think it is equal to the UK's vibe. NZ is great but I'm not a fan of that TM.
Imo the worst possible. He gives no wiggle room, discredits creativity in a COMEDY series and underscores contestants. With each episode my distaste for the TM grows.
I can't compare nation to nation, but I have no difficulty selecting the best overall season, and that's the UK series seven (the Rhod Gilbert one). But the UK also has the weakest one (series ten). I'd say the Aus and NZ seasons fall in the middle of the pack somewhere.
I love Greg. He is the best TM imo.
each episode gets better and better :) i thought last ep was top 3 ever... now i want this ep to be top 3.. its like the guests are getting more and desperate yet everything they pump out is gold
Luke should have been disqualified, the canvas was lifted off of the ground to move it closer
I disagree. He just asked for it to be moved - didn't ask for it to be lifted. Tom lifted it of his own accord. It usually doesn't come up, but I feel like events arising from the assistant's behavior are generally given a pass as far as potential DQs.
The painting task was a highlight for me 😂 Thank you for the upload!! Love TM ❤
Jimmy’s song was so rough😭
Dumb in Unison is the theme of this series.
The best Thursday ever!!! Thanks Taskmaster!!🎉🎉🎉
shoutout to the editing and camera work - it looked great!
Is Alex hiding the good sealing wax technology from the overseas taskmasters, or are they just insisting on using bad wax?
Nina's recorder solo. Amazing.
idk I really felt like Danielle got robbed in this episode :-( her mug was very curse-d, her song was the most celebratory and personal (right next to Julia's tbh), and her and Nina did follow the rules of the painting task - the material of the sheet being "canvas" should've been pushed more but mr. taskmaster Tom is hard to please, I've come to find out
I don't think that material was canvas, so that could make a difference. Also, the painting couldn't leave the ground, so that would depend on how technical you want to be with the word ground. Were Nina and Danielle on the ground when they were painting?
Is there a map-of-Australia-related reason they get specifically 13 minutes for the map of Australia task?
Fully agree with Danielle. Caring for other animals, in my case horses, has the potential for stymying many principles of the free market. The benefits outweigh nearly everything capitalism throws at us.
Julia spelling "antidisestablishmentarianism" is one of my favorite taskmaster segments of all time. A real time lapse of losing your mind.
Julia is so iconic - the way she makes both Luke and Jimmy cringe-laugh at 24:52 is just amazing. Good for her being single lmao.
3rd time that Danielle has made me cry laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yesss another episode!!!
My favorite episode so far!
I had to look up what "cerise" is, lol
What a great cast.
Love a nice Tasky after a good smoko
I mean this in the nicest and best possible way - Everything about Nina reminds me of every middle school girl from my class over 20 years ago.
25:03 when Tom G says "who's next" if I were Tom C, I would have gone: "no one she literally just said so"
I've grown very fond of this season.
Amazing.
I am blown away by how in sync Dannielle and Nina were for the painting task.
Taskmasters perogative and it was way funnier to give them 1, but I'm pretty sure Danielle and Nina fulfilled the task as written.
I would say it would depend on how technical they wanted to be with the word ground.
That reminds me, I'm totally out of clapping-spaghetti
For the painting task, I would run down and use some cardboard down to stencil the map
Julia is a great contestant and has a lot of brilliant moments, but I do feel like Tom favors her a lot sometimes.
I loved Nina's theme song the best. Everything she does just makes me feel happy!
I wholeheartedly disagree with the prize task points
Hands down, this is the best TM after the original. Now where is the TM Australia merch?
Danielle's song is unironically something I would listen to during my day. That was genuinely awesome lol it gave me Jefferson Airplane and Janis Joplin vibes occasionally (but in a silly way of course).
I find myself really looking forward to Luke’s performances more and more
This Julia Morris has really grown on me 😂💗
20:21 Favourite TM song!! Go Luke!
I love how he said "Neener Oyama" rhymed lol It's almost like they realize how it should be pronounced but they can't help it
