I love how these kids are swinging wood and not makos and zens
All they have is wood brotha
they cant afford them
@@Adhtine311 also scouts look at raw power not some extra power with a metal bat
@@widds8721 yeah
I'm sure they would love a marucci
I'm not from San Pedro but as a kid I played there so many times. Some of the fields they showed there I've played there. And it just made me feel so proud of DR 🇩🇴🇩🇴
The hunger and pure will to create a better living for yourself and your family, following the love of baseball creates these amazing players from this island. Dominicans stand up!
"Because if I didn't have this, they would never love me". I'm not exactly sensing a true love for the game hahaha
This came up in my mentions after he tested positive again 😢
He really have la sangre 🤣
RD el Brasil del béisbol !!! Un abrazo a toda la familia Dominicana !!
Dominican Republic ♥ I am from San Pedro de Macoris
Me too!!!!! Serie 23!!!
Hi
Damn, I remember the good time playing baseball in the DR, so many memories..
The contrast between a major city like Santo Domingo and a small one like San Pedro De Macoris is amazing!! LOVE IT

The island of Samoa creates one of the greatest rugby players ever with a small population in the same rate as this small city creates one of the finest baseball players.
who gives a fuck
A study found that you are 77 times more likely to become an NFL player if you are of Samoan descent.

My mother was born there Cedula 23 (national ID number 23) Love San Pedro de Macoris It is a beautiful place I am crying, remember riding sugar cane train with my grandmother. The warmest, most genuine in Dominican republic.
Great small documentary! I wish my fellow young Dominicans the best...
THIS WHOLE DOC WAS AMAZING. I'M WATCHING THIS AGAIN. WHAT GREAT CONTENT!
I hope that Japan plays a match with Dominica in the next WBC.
Dominica is another country. You mean Republica Dominicana
All you haters need to work as hard as this kid....in your job or on the field doesn't matter. He is building the connectors and small muscles in his arm and relying on sound balance and mechanics rather than muscle to keep up with the big kids. Many of thew big boys you see in the Little league world series you wont see in high school when the little guys catch up in height and weight. I'm not hating on bigger kids, go get yours guys remember mechanics and heart will beat strength and sloppy mechanics..
El país de los pelotero RD⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾
The Atlantic Ocean is on the north side of the island. San Pedro is located on the eastern side of the island, southeast to be specific, the Caribbean Sea is on this side of the island.
Ana De La Cruz The Caribbean Sea is in Fact The Atlantic Ocean.. Caribbean Sea It just a name for that Southern coast but Caribbean Sea is Just a very small section of The Atlantic Ocean..
Thank you so much for your comment. I have to acknowledge this is something that I didn't know. Thanks again!

Robinson cano is a legend
eh, you wouldnt say that if he wasnt a 2nd basemen, hes average at any other position , people think hes great because he does it as a 2nd basemen
If you take his stats from 2009 when he entered his prime up until now he's been the 6th best offensive player inbaseball. The people infront of him? all MVP's except for goldschmidt Cano in this 9 year span hasslash lineof.306/.362/.504. @@zioonr Nah. The most recent suspension was from a medication that by no means translates to enhanced performance, but was prescribed to him in the DR. Unless he and his doctor memorized the list of banned substances from the Anti Doping Agency, you wouldnt assume a high blood pressure pil would be considered a PED. Because it doesnt enhance performance. And even if he was hypothetically given PEDs in the Yankees org, he certainly hasn't been on them for years, and he STILL absolutely rakes. Otherwise he simply wouldn't be there. Red Sox dropped Hanley Ramirez even though they would still pay something like $20 million just to get him out of the lineup. Carl Crawford is STILL getting a massive paycheck from the Dodgers and he hasn't played in years. Simply put, if he couldn't play without PEDs he wouldn't be on the roster.
not a legend... he will be forgotten quickly.

@MANCHESTER UNITED Shut up this man died in your just talking about stupid soccer like have some god damn respect.
@MANCHESTER UNITED soccer is driving people to be idiotic that's why. I watch it too and I like it, grew up watching until I discovered the beauty of baseball. Once you play it it's something else it's too damn good. Both are good sports, American sports though in my opinion are superior and more strategic and intelligent.
the funny thing is that Baseball is the top paying sport soo, I rather be in a sport that is less popular but I make more more ,stop hating

This was the best video I've ever seen
I used to live there and even worked with some kids wanting to learn baseball...lots of poverty but really nice people in that city.

Great video
Translation/correction> 9:30 This is what that trainer really said: "hey look fatty are you trying to bat first? we can't put someone to bat randomly, this is being recorded. Lets move it in order, the best hitters go first".
Excellent job on this "documentary" loved every second of it!
Thanks for sharing. This video is very "eye opening" to see what the youth of so many countries go through to play baseball. The county where i live in Kentucky, USA, closed down Little League bc we didn't have enough kids/coaches to participate in the program, its very nice to see that there are still people out there with the love and passion of this sport that still makes it as great as it ever was. I hope the kids are not just in it for the money but also bc of the enjoyment that baseball brings to so many people. It has been in my blood since birth but God had other plans.
awesome stuff!
1:48 i feel so bad that the kid thinks that the only reason his family loves him is that he plays baseball.
Thought I was the only one that noticed that.
great video
Wow!!!! Is nice to see that Jesus Frias is still doing the same thing he was doing back in 2001 when I used to be part of his league as a kid!!! He trained me back in 2001 when I was just a kid then I came to the US in 2003 at the age of 13, now I'm 31 and never came back to DR or saw this field again until now on this video!! Wow this video brought me back to my childhood memories.. Amazing!!
Great Job, Thanks 😊

Baseball is the king of sports in DR. It is like soccer to Europe
9:30 the trainer bullied the little fat kid lol he said " if you cant hit go to the back of the line"
jose inoa he said, "Look my brother" proceeds to say, "Look fatty are you going to bat first huh? no your crazy you can't be first you guys are crazy move" he moves 3 players in Dominican Republic coaches are strict just like Brazil is in soccer!
Flaks WSXHARPYSX25TH yeah thats what he said. i just thought it was mean since its something thats gonna be in a video that people are gonna see. im dominican so i got to see things like this first hand.
Gordo is fat..yes! But it can also be used as a nickname. I was called gordo growing up, and the name just stuck. Old friends still call me that after 20 years, I don't mind. 👍🏼
What do you want? Do you want him to hug him and kiss him?
"mira goldo"😂😂😂😂😂 that's why they are so good after because the coaches are strict 😂😂
Isidro reminded me a bit of what a young Roberto Clemente would have looked like. Wishing Isidro the best.
he did not make it, is no longer on any roster.... according to google. this video is from 2017
@@andrewkirwan517 Hey thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping he doesn't give up. He had potential.

Honestly, MLB as an organization is missing such a huge opportunity to not only find players, but to develop an *entire comminity* that's devoted to baseball. Can you imagine the better development young players would get if they had equipment that little leagues take for granted in the US? If instead of hitting bottle caps, they has baseballs? That's where kids who don't get the opportunity to go to an elite camp could become great. If everyone is dedicated, but most don't have the basic equipment, imagine if all the dedicated kids had the chance to practice all the time like they want to anyways. And they're missing a chance to build that community by giving more than just a bag of baseball's - if MLB was smart, they would see that developing the city means more opportunity for the best players to find their first shots. If there was an MLB franchise, a Minor League franchise - even a low-A or Winter League training league for prospects, that's money and economic development for the whole city. And money for the whole city translates to only making it easier for great ball players to find their way to the MLB.
There are winter leagues and A leagues in the Dr though
They’ve built baseball academy’s all over DR now you want them to rebuild the country....
You're missing the point... Hitting bottle caps with a stick is what gives these Dominican kids the edge they need. They are developing superior hand-eye co-ordination to American kids who grow up with all the proper baseball equipment.
Any update on esidro?
Yall should make more videos from san pedro
2:02 they already have baseball players face!
Aye finally seeing a video from the motherland y mi barro!!
✔too great
I live in San Pedro and let me tell you that the baseball system here sucks. All the kids dropout of school to play baseball because all the academies are in the morning so they quit school to pursue baseball but most of them don't even make it
dooklik It does suck, but it's MLB's fault. In the U.S. most of the players are signed when they've finished college, they're in their early 20s. In our country, if you are not signed at 16 your chances to make it are almost zero, it is unfair. MLB should change the rules and not sign players unless they've finished high school.
Ana De la Cruz I'm from the us and i agree. That's really messed up. I never realized this before
dooklik $$$$
that's true but now tell me what are the chances for them to success after the finish school ?
If thinking that way were the norm, nobody should go to school.
You can tell he's a great trainer, Cano Sr. Respect and love the sport so much.

Do it here in Puerto Rico too. I know people which can help in the video and players and the need. And Puerto Rico has great baseball players here too.

Hopefully he makes it
90 mph was the pitcher or his swing??? Towards the end
was there on a mission trip, it is pretty bad.... not as bad as boca chica atleast. if you go to the parks, they are literally filled with baseball players.
Baseball is very good in 🇩🇴
Great doc. I love the culture of baseball in the Caribbean, especially San Pedro 🇩🇴. I also wish Robinson Cano a little bit of humility and class. You’re great enough as you are. No need to flex your Lexus on the field just so everyone can see. Park outside like everyone else if you’re fortunate enough to have a car. That’s what true ballers do in my view 🤷♂️
Donde queda esta academia
did Isidro make it? There is a kid listed as Neyfy Garcia that is the same age and weight from the DR that signed a 600k contract that year but nothing on Isidro. Is Neyfy his real first name?
when I was 13 I was legit easily hitting 80 85 mile and hour fast balls I swear to god I hit a hard line drive on an inside pitch straight back to the pitcher and he tried to bear hand the ball but he slowed it down there for the short stop to come over and make a double play. But my old club team they have younger kids practice with the 16 and 17 year olds.
So agree Davis Vasquez 2
I love baseball
Sebastian is the goat lmaoo Yo quiero ser pelotero I que mi familia tenga mucho cuiato
I sure would love to be able to watch this in another timeline where Robinson didn’t ruin his reputation. He was headed to the hall before he got popped😢
