Moral of this episode: people hate comparison ONLY when they do worse than others.
that's a psychological concept that's been replicated in many studies. Upwards vs. Downwards Comparisons.
unfortunately this is so true to me
But, yeah of course, it should be like that. Of course you want to be above others but not below them? I think that is a bit sad but not wrong.
@@ella9223 true for most people.
@@androstefanic It's wrong to put up a facade and try to teach others to not care about certain thing, because you're scared you suck at them. It's normal to be insecure about your intelligence, but it's kinda lame to pretend IQ doesn't matter UNTIL you find out you scored really high.

For reaaaaal, I was kind of exasperated, the test was about IQ, about something they already knew, simply as saying, how do you think you went on the test, or do the questions were difficult? what did you answer in certain question... Aghh that's why some people say we women are complicate
fr Taylor was an absolute yapper
They talked about how IQ isn't an indicator of intelligence and sure, it's only an indicator of a type of intelligence. But they were ranking HIGHEST IQ. So the lack of basic comprehension skills displayed by some of them was just a bit disappointing. They took the test. They knew what kind of intelligence it would be ranking. So why did they keep falling back to things like emotional intelligence or humility, or just likeability. The interesting thing is, the highest IQ women also demonstrated the emotional intelligence not to get into an argument about it or push back because they knew it was a losing fight. Also really sad to see the "winner" be so disappointed with her score. 100 is average. 112(or whatever she got) is a solid score putting her in the top quartile of people. So very likely 3/4 of the people putting her down have a lower iq.
Not Taylor so confident and then blaming the others for her not being “the one” 💀
Taylor felt like a pick me. She kept talking about herself and then used the "my friends pushed me to do this" card.

Yeah, IQ is about the ability to understand imo. It has nothing to do with accomplishments, and moreso to do with intuition and craftiness. Some of the biggest booknerds I've ever met had an average IQ, while some of my nonstem best friends are well above the average
Exactly, I'm glad she got humbled. She seemed like a "pick me" girl
Not always. #5 was pretty confident and #8
Jubilee, PLEASE do this with men. I would love to see if they're as supportive to each other as the women or more objective etc. This was such a cool episode!
Bruh their questions are gonna be like: "whats the longest word you know"
I think the questions will be "so, how well do you think you did on the score? How did you find question 5?". At least I hope so
I think men would care much less if they're told they're not smart, and they would get out by themselves in 2m the video will be half the time
Men would not waste their time.

Girl YOU'RE a litteral beauty with brain❤
I’m not surprised some of the higher IQ women self eliminated before 10. I think realistically speaking even if you’re number one you will be smart enough to know there’s always someone better
That's illogical. If you are number one, you know that someone has to have the highest score and that the chance that it could be you is not zero. Of course this chance converges towards zero the more people are in the group. The more people are in the group, the more likely it is that you are not the one.
I mean the chances you'd be the number 1 from 100 people isnt high. Secondly really smart people care much less about people knowing they're number one. They probably just wanted the test score
The girl who eventually turned out to be the smartest didn't actually want to eliminate herself. She was hesitant until she saw that no one else was getting out, that's when she decided to go. Also, the person paired with her said "You can go if you feel like going but I hope you stay"
yes, you're probably more aware of everything you don't know when you're very intelligent
yeah, I felt like Taylor was smart, but I didn’t think she was “the one” because in all the clips they showed of her she was talking and trying to prove how smart she was, and it didn’t seem like she was trying to figure out the intelligence of the people surrounding her.

HONESTLY, i would love it if the final 10 revealed their ranks to the public. I’m so curious to know the contrast between where they ACTUALLY stand vs what their self-perceived rank is.
I don’t know why anyone would stay. If you leave in the first group and have the highest then everyone is like “wow” if you leave in the first group and you are the lowest then you are self aware. Win/win.
amahit winning actually makes a lot of sense. the quietest and most humble people are usually the smartest
Also no offense but she looked and sounded like she was either trans or intersex. Kinda funny the smartest woman in the room is the one that's a biological male or has a mix of male and female brain. If you look at IQ on a graph the women's IQ is more of a bell curve, meaning the average IQ of men and women is fairly equal, but when you go to the extremes there are a lot more really smart men than there are really smart women.
That's not necessary true but what is true tho is that: the most intelligent your are, the less likely you will say you're intelligent cause you realize how lil you know compared to what is possible to know.
Actually that other comment explains very well what I meant: "intelligent people know how much they don't know, not how much they do"

@@natalyarea9369 I agree. Still, she chose to not let a subjective number define her. I don't know if I'll be able to explain it, but let's say that's something that could have given her anxiety. Like, seeing the number could have sent her into a spiral. Choosing to not look is a smart choice in that scenario. Choosing to not let something affect you, especially something like this test which was not an accurate test, and her comparison is only to 99 other people, is not even practical in any sense in her day to day life. So saying something like "true courage would be seeing the number an not caring"... But it's not worth it to get anxious over something that's not even that important in the real world.
@@CreamIceMs that’s 100% true, i didn’t think of it that way.

143 is really high, but people should understand that what we perceive as intelligence is not just academic abilities but a lot to do with the brain chemistry and structure , the person can have a high IQ but lack the will to achieve academic excellence or pursue a career involving intellectual abilities, so the occupation is not always an indicator for IQ and high IQ people can be interested in jobs or activities not involving pure science or maths like we expect

This video was so raw and real. 👏🏼 nice job jubilee! The video’s comment section is crazy toxic I’m actually shocked. I felt no cockiness from any of the girls and was pretty emotional most of the time. We are so hard on ourselves already, why not show a little confidence in our abilities? But people would rather say these women should be humbled? Wild… Nearly every reaction was so raw and valid, even the low numbers they were humble, didn’t let it define them. And high numbers why not be confident? Be proud of yourself and all the hard work and dedication etc. pull others up and that includes yourself.
As a cognitive science major, this whole video was so interesting to me because going in I knew IQ tests focus on pattern recognition and problem solving first and foremost. It’s interesting to me how stem usually gets looked at as superior but you use pattern recognition and problem solving in the humanities too, so I wish the participants took that more into consideration too
I mean the stats are pretty clear, STEM is the major with one of the highest median IQ and humanities one of the lowest. Nothing demeaning, just real life stats so it would be safe and actually reasonable and pragmatic to assume what you think should not be assumed. But of course some STEM graduates are 100 IQ and some humanities graduates are 150 IQ. Just as a general rule that’s not the case.

I have a feeling they recorded the girl who got 100th place but it probably didn’t go well so they cut it out, so instead they put 99th girl
Either dat or she got 100th place because of interference with the test such as her phone dying
Nah did you miss the girl that didn't open her iq card? She is the reason why the rank only has 99 people and not 100. At 14:50

An online iq test is NEVER valid.
All IQ tests are just ranking systems ... It is not an absolute, its a comparison. If you beat people in a ranking system, then you beat them fair and square.
Depends, the cait has many subtests and is pretty similar to a legit iq test.
If we go by what it said in the end abot a Wechsler scale, they did a WAIS test. But I don't know if that can be administered in a setting like that. Kind of fishy. I did it at my psychologist and I think it took around an hour and she was adiministering it.
yeah its 10-20 points more than real iq test by psychologist or whatever, i had real one when i was 9, i got 112 and on online test i can get 120-130 lol
@mayoiko same. I got 115 on wais and I get 120-135 online. But my results on wais are iffy because I have 140 on one thing then I have around 100 on working memory and something else. From what I read online they can't do normal calculations with those results.
This episode really highlighted that people lie to themselves in order to avoid potential disappointment or rejection... But as soon as they are given that validation that previous "oh I don't care about this and that" goes out the window
I was so glad that Taylor wasn't number 1. She kept on talking about how she's in STEM and tried so hard to flaunt her "intelligence".
Lmao that’s literally what she was supposed to do. And she was in the top 25 it’s not like she was overly confident
🙄🙄🙄 (to your comment, not to Taylor)
stop bringing other women down. she wasnt number 1 cuz she herself said so, but bcuz others chose her
@@boo-xj7jx well, average IQ for university students is higher than hers. But your IQ shows what you are most probably capable of, not what you will actually achieve academically. So frankly speaking it seems more important if your level is extremely low, that means you require more attention to get a proper education from your parents and your teachers.
newsflash for her - adding "empowering", "inspired", "underrepresented" etc to every sentence doesn't actually make you smart lol
ooh it's out! I enjoyed being a part of this and am happy to have met so many amazing people! 🤩

Seeing the amount of backlash on Taylor honestly hurts to see. Just because she's confident in her own ability or considerate of others doesn't make her "cocky" and "arrogant"... I will never understand how people can be so critical and judgmental of someone who is simply confident in their own abilities and considerate of others.
I think it was that she primarily relied empathy, being STEM, and wanting validation as grounds for her being number 1. Then to say “oh I told them I wasn’t but they kept telling me”, if she were genuinely confident she wouldn’t have defaulted to that response.
The way she talks is arrogant and cocky so covering for her

I'd be quite curious if Jubilee could release the IQ test they used
yeah!!!
True I wanna try it too. One of the women said there was math on it, I thought that it would be just pattern recognition stuff. Maybe she meant complete the numerical sequence questions.
its from a book it says it at the beginning. I guess they made it an online test (maybe with google forms) that they could do for this video
They were a combination of EQ and IQ and whtever the 3rd one is
It is not just one test that gives you your real IQ. It must be a battery of test including interviews and interpreted by a pro specialist psychologist who can do it. By the way they are talking they had just made one test. That is not ok.
5:06 Jael is the smartest person in that circle at that moment. It's based on a test, not perception. 🤷🏾♀️
Literally smart and stunning
Jael is so pretty but un that group Lika had a higher score than Jael
thats why she got rank 10.. she had common sense. something majority of them lacked
This was so interesting to watch! The role played by extroversion/assertiveness in determining who stayed. But mainly the way that the women basically selected their leader/spokesperson through this process. It makes sense that the person they selected was the one who connected to the rest of group the best through communication, particularly by articulating feelings around self-esteem and showing emotional leadership to help the group transmute the high anxiety of the selection process. But this was of course not necessarily going to be the one with the highest IQ. The person with the highest IQ would be more likely to have an outlying perspective from the emotional experience of the group as a whole. There also seemed to be a group bias against those with strongly feminine presentation in the selection process.
guys, just one thing, those are not proper iq tests, when doing mine adhd test the psychiatrist also tested for my iq, i had done one very similar to the one they're doing on the show and the results were VERY different from the one my psychiatrist did
Taylor played this game so hard, having the perspective of the viewer made that really easy to see. She may have been the most competitive one there; kudos to that.
Yeah she knew how to play the game. She might do well on Squid Games I think.

how was she competitive?

Not-so-fun fact: IQ tests (and many other "academic" testing) are based on eugenics... All these women are all brilliant and are uniquely genius.
Comparison really is the thief of joy! What a cool piece. Loved it!
Want to point out the girl who was 99/100 being an IQ of 85. Thats still an average IQ, it's low average but still within average limits so she's still smart and I hope she knows that ❤️
Yeah the number two was like two standard deviations above the mean, the number 99 only one standard deviation below. I wonder if they skewed it that way on purpose, but I guess if the tests weren't done until they were there they couldn't have. More likely volunteer bias, I guess, for something like this.
I was in special education through high school. I got like a IQ of 60 to 70. It went up after going to college. The last time I check it was over 100. Yes, you could increase your IQ. But to a specific point.

I don't get what they mean by humble them. If you're insulting someone over a harmless video you must have low IQ yourself 😂.
They lack so much self-awareness. They're the exact reason most of the women are terrified of having any confidence in themselves.
i dont think they need to heal at all...they just enjoy seeing turth and equality...if anything these girls should be more self aware and humble themselves before someone else has the ability to do it. They bring it on themselves by acting all knowing
I teared up! This type of video is so uplifting. After getting tweaked a little to guard against mental scars would be great to really work on building up more women in the workforce!

I love how that one girl said she averages at 380 books per year. Like girly, that's more than one book per day 💀 does she read like baby books or smt? Edit: 920 likes wow :0 Also for anyone saying that it’s possible for a person to read that much, I don’t think it is. Because especially as an adult you are working a lot and it’s quite frankly impossible to be reading more than one book in a day unless that’s all that you do. I’m a very fast reader and the quickest I can read a 350 page book is around two days so yeah. If u disagree then idrc

Bringing up high school grades to determine IQ is wild
80-90% of the time educational success has nothing to do with IQ. So even bringing your Masters up would be a fail.
@@TheBazino yeah. A lot of this felt like women projecting intelligence to sound a lot smarter than they are. Attempting to be psuedointellectuals by bringing up social issues. 💀
@@bean6047 Taylor was the best example of this. 116 is not a bad IQ to have, but what made her sound soooo intelligent to the other girls was, that she basically has perfected the feminist language of using words that sound smart but literally don't mean what the person is saying. Feminism has introduced something into our world that hasn't existed before. Using words without their meaning or even the opposite meaning of what you are saying. Wokeness then put this into overdrive by removing ALL meaning from words.
I felt absolutely horrible for Taylor. She was crying over not only her comparison, but the highly likely pressure and stress she was put on. It was very relatable, and I was very sad she had to get 24th place. She doubted herself, and not getting even into the final ten didn't help her.
Ah it was all made better when the girls hugged her and said "you did so well" [standing there] LMAO!
These tests are not very accurate. Idk why people get so hung up on them. The test relies on you not knowing the patterns which you may have picked up before even attempting the test somewhere else.
@@Cherry-pu4mx Yeah, I agree.
Yall hating on Taylor for what? There was the huge theme here of women not standing up for themselves and she emphasized how the support of her friends gave her the strength to advocate for herself. Not that other people put her there. Crazy to see those comments with thousands of likes

@@TheBazino I would be in top 5 based on my IQ if I were there with these people, and I am into acting. You can be smart and just do things for your soul. You can google it, some of the famous actors are even on a genius level.
@@The_Katsiaryna Well even if you are honest about your IQ, you need to work on your reading skills. I didn't say actors are not intelligent. I said the reason SHE has given for becoming an actor and not wanting to be judged by numbers anymore is a likely indicator that her IQ is not high. Because she didn't say she wanted to become an actor because she is passionate about acting, but she doesn't want to be judged by numbers anymore.
I wish they focused more on informing them about the IQ rankings because I feel like a lot of the women got caught up in where they were out of 100 rather than their actual IQ standing. Like the girl who was 99/100 had an 89 and that's an average IQ, so she is by no means not intelligent, she has a very common IQ. Taylor was 24/100 but 116 is considered to be above average IQ. But regardless, IQ doesn't determine you're achievement or capabilities, so ppl shouldn't use it as a sole indication of their potential as a person.
Olivia was 85 not 89, but yes that is still a totally fine and, as you say, common score.
Well, the mean for IQ is precisely at 100 85-115 is what 68% of the people score, but the score of 85 is literally bottom line for "average"
@@_bloomoon_depends how u look at the average. Worldwide yes but if u compare it in a country itself it could look completely diffrent
