Funny and sharing a great perspective. I am enjoying seeing people share similar opinions as other people of color have been sharing for decades :).

When he said "I'll play George Washington Carver if they let me." I laughed hard, BUT the fact that he had to tell them that he was a black guy, made me laugh even harder!
I thought that was common knowledge, but apparently not.
@@jenx5870every single human being outside of the US(which is 7.7 billion people btw) hasn’t even got the slightest clue who George Washington Carver is. So enlighten us.
It really depends on where he'd performing. Speaking as a Canadian, we don't learn about him in school. "USA History" is a one-year elective you can choose in high school, and many students wouldn't feel a need to. I imagine that course is a very condensed, "just the highlights" overview of US history that might easily skip over one 19th century agricultural scientist.
@@hinoron6528 congratulats you know what he did. I just know him as a famous black guy.
It's like one of three black guys they begrudgingly teach you about during Black History Month. But curiously, they never mention Nat Turner that entire month.

The funny thing is the fortune 🥠 most people think of was invented in the US.

I love comedians like this who talk about how weird the world is, and in all the ways that no one else seems to ever talk about.
This guy has just started popping up via YT suggestions the last couple of days. (Why not sooner, YT?) THIS guy is funny and understands that racial/cultural differences are funny and is confidently smooth and cool enough to pull it off! Jimmy can take a variety of assumptions, from every cultural angle, and find the gem. Well done, sir!

Oh my lol he would do that. I should do that too

Some years ago I’m at a restaurant with my 7yro nephew. He’s a tiny guy and needed help using the urinals, so I go with him. After he finishes, he’s washing his hands when an Asian dude walks in. My nephew asks him his name. The guy kind of caught of guard responds with his name. My nephew, shocked faced, “on my god! He speaks English!” The dude looks at me, and all that came out of me was, “nephew, not my kid!” It starts early for some.
What dat boi watching? 😆
Lmao you really said you’re not responsible for that child’s behavior 😭
🤣🤣
😂🤣😂🤣That's a funny as punch line.
@reeree Really? Kids believe in Santa Claus. A big beard white man breaking in into their homes with bag of presents huge enough for all kids in the planet... carried by flying dears... but they are horrible racist for being surprised that a guy of a group that they don't have contact with and they mostly see only on TV speaking foreign languages... speaks English. It's just a kid... he barely understands 1+1
I can imagine a film with Ken Jeong as the father and Jimmy Yang as his son and these two getting an OSCAR the following year!
Watch the other video. Jimmy's real dad will play the dad. And win!
Well Ken is Korean so that’d be pretty f’d up
Lol, just the thought cracks me up.
With Ali Wong as his hot mom, and Bobby Lee as his uncle/older brother.
@@amazingsupergirl7125 Okay. So, a person of Korean ancestry can't play a person of Chinese ancestry? Where exactly are all the lines? Can a Nigerian play South African? What about Somali? Egyptian? Or what about an English actor? I mean, they can play Scottish, Welsh, or Irish, right? What about French? German? Swiss? Danish?
I had no idea this guy was such a good stand-up, keep the specials coming…
yeah, I always LMAO hearing him
If John Wayne can play Genghis Kahn, Jimmy should be able to play Christopher Columbus.
I always honestly thought John Wayne was a bit Mongol-looking. Moreso than just about any Chinese guy I've seen. People call it whitewashing, but you have to wonder how many super-talented broad-chested Mongolian actors were hanging out in Hollywood back then.
Or Frank Sinatra singing "Ole Man River."
@@JETZcorp Considering there's been ethnically Mongolian people in China for centuries (if not millennia) how does what you said make sense? And how would there be Mongolian actors in the studio system, when the people running the studio system refused to hire them?
@@Genevieve1023 I said more than "just about" any Chinese guy "I've seen". So that's ethnic Chinese living in the Western US. Obviously if you trundle around Northern China you're going to find a lot of Mongolian looking and straight up Mongolian people. Obviously I'm not saying that John Wayne is more Mongolian looking than any single person in China. And when I said "in Hollywood", I didn't necessarily mean in the studio system, but physically in the geographic area. There were definitely some Chinese people around L.A. back then, but not a very wide cross-section of them. When my dad went to school in the 70s (20 years on from The Conqueror) there was still only 1 Asian kid in the building. The demographics back then weren't like they are now. So the ideal in making the movie would be to go on a big pre-internet man hunt to find someone who looks Mongolian, is big and imposing, and who can act very well in English. I don't think any single human on Earth in the 1950s meets all 3. They would struggle very hard to find a anyone who fulfills 2 of those requirements, or they could pick up the phone in 10 seconds and call a pro actor who definitely nails 2 of the 3. Bear in mind too that in the mid-50s you can't just bop on over to Mao's mostly pre-industrial communist China and look for actors while Chinese and American soldiers are killing each other in Korea. Going back to the original comment that started this. Let's say in the 1950s, in China, they're making a movie about Christopher Columbus. Chinese production, for a Chinese audience, Chinese language, and made on that side of Mao's version of the iron curtain. They don't even get to look in Hong Kong; that's still effectively Britain at this time. They're probably not going to find a tall skinny white guy who can can act well in Mandarin. They'd find a tall, skinny, and unusually pale Chinese actor. Now, in 2021, when half the world speaks English, and China is modern, open to foreigners, and connected through the internet, there would be no excuse for casting a big white guy as Genghis Khan. Different times bear different circumstances, so it's important to consider those differences before we judge those of the past based on our modern standards. While it IS true that they weren't very interested in pursuing diversity, it is also true that they weren't very able.
@@JETZcorp Those demographics were the result of the Chinese Exclusion act, which had been around in some form for almost 100 years, and the Japanese internment camps in WW2. If that's how America felt about Asians, did Hollywood have any business making a movie about Ghengis Khan?
Double standards among societies are a joke and he mocks them well 👏🏻
Yea he does and he’s hilarious
As a black man EVERYTHING/ONE should be able to be made fun of this is HILARIOUS!

I'd like to see a major studio cast Jimmy as George Washington, without any explanation. He's just sitting there wearing that white wig with his glasses.
I love how people keep ragging on Damon for being in TGW, despite the fact that he was playing a European knight around the time of the Crusades retracing the path of Marco Polo to acquire Black Powder for the war against the burgeoning Islamic Empire. You know, like the Pope should have sent Jackie Chan on that mission!
Never seen the movie but that's funny with the last sentence.
He is so funny 😂 I loved him in that movie “Love Hard” man I cried like a bitch and laughed so hard. I laughed so hard at the end because in the beginning of the movie when she goes to his house his mom opens the door and is like it’s the mormons again and the dad is like stop trying to make us convert! 😂😂 Anyway at the end she goes over to win him back with cardboard’s with words on them and when he opens the door his parents are like WHO IS IT? & Her first card read “tell them it’s the mormons” 😂😂😂 i was dying 😂😂 they were like DOR THE LAST TIME WE’RE NOT CONVERTING! 💀

That Great Wall movie was released in Korea too. I was very confused, because it was a shitty movie that you didn't even need to watch to tell it was shitty, and still starring Matt, one of my favorite actors. At first I thought it was some other man who looked like him. It was confusing really...
Bro same... I was like wtf is this piece of crap movie.
The one thing I found particularly interesting about that movie, was how racist it was against whites. It's the first time I had experienced proper racism against myself. I wasn't insulted, it was just an interesting experience. Also, I found it interesting how pro-communist it was. I didn't see any reason for such a movie to be a pro-communist propaganda. But I guess if you live in China, everything you do must be pro-communist propaganda.
@@Tjalve70 Yeah, you know it's a Chinese made film, set in China, paid for by China, and produced primarily by a Chinese crew. Everything China makes is anti western. Watch "Wolf Warrior" if you haven't.
@@RogerCharlamange I has expected it to be anti-western. I hadn't expected it to be so blatantly racist. But it wasn't racist in the intentionally offensive way. It was just racist in the matter-of-factly way. Which was interesting. Also, the child-emperor was such blatant pro-communist propaganda, that if any western film maker had made such shallow and blatant propaganda, he would have been laughed out of the community. I do know that the official Chinese view, is that east Asians are not homo sapiens. They claim to be descendants from homo erectus. And if anyone but east Asians had said that, it would have been considered extremely racist.
@@RogerCharlamange the story is by 3 Americans, 3 out of 4 of the producers are American, the screenplay by 3 Americans and 1 of the 4 production companies is American.

Jimmy your so funny, I love you, you keep coming up in my daily feeds, keep going. Love a welsh mummy from Wales UK x x
This is really good!
I actually love how tipping works at Chinese restaurants when you pay cash. The waiter always breaks up the change you get back in such a way that you know exactly how much you need to leave. If the tab is, say, $29.70, and you pay $40, you don't get back a $10 bill, a $1 bill and the change, you get back the change, 4 quarters and a $5 and 5-$1's. So you know to take the $5, and that you need to leave at least half the $1 bills, half the quarters and the change.
I have become an instant fan!!!!! This guy is the real deal!!!! Go Jimmy!!!

as an aisian, I have watched my dad fight with other asian dads about who gets to pay, and its lie- "nono, my pleasure, lemme pay" "ah, but no no. I orders lots of food" "these are MY kids I have to feed so I should pay for them," "oh we all family, ur kids r my kids, I pay"
Let me guess? You born in Arab household?
@@Melon-ALL-Free chinese
Wow? They are really good Chinese.
Yes, this happens with my family and extended family too. I think the difference is if you’re eating with other families- it’s necessary to be generous and pay for the groups bill, that’s why we all fight for the bill….. But the tip part is still not very generous, but very reasonable to them, like they don’t think it’s cheap at all- the amount makes sense to them.
@@linateacup to be fair, tipping culture in the US is out of control. Maybe it would be better if everyone were a bit more Chinese in that regard 🙂

Not only do I remember I went to it in the cinema and still recommend it to people. It's this bizarre steampunk great wall vs aliens? with Matt Damon for some reason. And more importantly Andy Lau manages to look like he's in a serious movie which is so impressive.
