  • Rest in peace, Coach Leach. Truly a treasure and a 1 of 1 personality. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they begin to navigate through a difficult time.

  • What a treasure for the world. Totally down to earth and unpretentious. When you consider the incredible accomplishments he had it’s so refreshing meeting someone so cool. He’s good for the soul.

  • I’m a State alum and will truly miss coach Leach. But he was loved by college football fans all over the country not just the schools he coached. May he RIP.

  • I got to say I really appreciate the guys on the right who put an iota of effort into the appearance for the show. Leach is showing you respect but doing the jacket and tie and everyone here shouldve done the same. It was nice to see at all though after the slobs at Barstool and even Cover 3. It’s a sports show doesn’t mean dress like it’s moving day. Really enjoyed seeing how Leach was in this setting. I think Mike Leach proved something with his life about people. The recipe for everyone liking you usually is get as bland as possible and smooth all the edges out. Leach was the opposite of that and I’ve never heard anybody say they didn’t like Leach. You kind of had to be some kind of a-hole to not like Leach. He proved authenticity and eccentricity even is admired over the clones in the media. Way too early. To think what we missed as a college football media guy after coaching, in a Urban Meyer role or better. A Manning type game watching WOULDVE been incredible. What we missed is though nothing compared to him and his family. In a world competing desperately for “likes” “views” maybe the most and most important lines is be yourself. Be interested in others, genuinely. Lubbock, Pullman, Starkville. He chose out of the way places to do his thing. All 3 are. I cant see him at USC or even Notre Dame, although ND did have Holtz an original personality. USC had Robinson. Is it me or did coaches used to be able to have more personality? Anybody ever just want to chill and shoot the breeze with Brian Kelly or Saban? EVERYTHINGS gotten real real sanitized. Leach will be missed. Hugely.

  • Coach Leach is a great fit at Mississippi State - not winners, but we are great comic relief; kind of like when Jerry Clower played here.

    • We are winners.. we're not Vandy.. we were the first team to be #1 in the CFP rankings.. we go to good bowls more years than not.. multiple All-Pro caliber players in the NFL.. we're not going to win a NC but neither is Kentucky in football. Or South Carolina. Or tsun.
