With mainland Europe under Hitler's control, the German Führer turned his attention to Operation Sealion, and the Battle of Britain, expecting an easy victory. However he'd underestimated the enormity of the task and the spirit of a nation inspired by Winston Churchill.
Produced and narrated by Liam Dale.
Nice documentary.. I love the narration..its absolutely peace and calm...it's nice watching

Many knives crimes and robberies. Uk is not a safe
“He mobilized the English language and sent it into battle." Journalist Edward R. Murrow said of Churchill. 💯✨✌.
Parabéns otimo documentario como todos.
Excellent narration and unique music in the background.. Does anyone know the name of the music playing?

Super documentary
Let's not forget Great Britain asserted itself in both WW1 and WW2. Their mainland was not attacked but jumped into both world wars on behalf of others having been attacked.
It was bombed in both world wars
@@TommyAtkins-bd5ky GB declared war on Germany first, because Germany invaded Poland. The old addage, start a fight lest get a bloody nose.
whats this got do do with the original post ?@@jimrutherford2773
Very good to the point of excellence, the firm but slightly modest vocal delivery is worthy of praise…for in his way the narrator reflects the perilous state in which Britain stood in 1940…Post Dunkirk we had little to boast about…yet we had delivered our retreat from Dunkirk, our great people had showed their guts to cross the Channel in our little boats to save those brave soldier souls who were ours! Then we had our Hurricanes and Spitfires and our very young pilots…God bless them - they were brave - many with so few hours’ flying hours…That takes courage! And we had our Royal Navy! Am proud to say I lived through it all, very proud, indeed, when war ended I was twice the age I had when it began, and they were lonely years, but thanks to our People who I would call “the Greatest Generation of all time”…and we had Winston! Without Churchill we’d have gone down that understandable perhaps terrible route that France had thought fit to take…alas!
So were you 6 years old when the war started and 12 when it finished?

We are still under attack, but for the first time since the NORMAN invasion in AD 1066 we are defenceless.
So often the spitfire is heralded as the savior of the battle of Britain. The role that the Hurricane played was just as vital but so often ignored. Both were essential in this battle and both in my eyes are hero's as are the men who flew them with the men who serviced them. In all it was a team effort and one that was well done. Looking at the past where people knew right from wrong I find it so difficult to understand the tolerance people show today for destructive and evil ideology that persist in todays world.
It wasn't just the fighters, radar played its role as well, and royal observer Corp, which provided intelligence for R.A.F. controllers to deployed fighters to allow the luftwaffe to be intercepted
Hurricane had more kills than the Spitfire.
@@joefell7845 In fairness, to get our ratios aright, might this be because there were more of them? I mean, eg, if there were 200 Hurricanes each with two kills and 100 Spits each eg with 3 kills that’d be 400 kills to the Hurricanes and 300 kills to the Spits yet per kite 2:1 favour Hurricane 3:1 per Spit…But don’t get me wrong, I too think the Hurricane was /is too easily dismissed because its aerodynamic held to be - if not even derided by some shame be upon them - a mere extension of the last bi-plane ie as opposed to the super shiny metallic Spitfire…straight from the Schneider Trophy wins….but the Hurricane to its credit could be more quickly repaired! Sydney Camm felt put out too for all his efforts…but poor Mitchell on the other hand didn’t live to see the triumph of his creation….We were fortunate to have them both…Our glasses raised…Amen

"Schtalin", ah, ah. Stalin. Not mentioned: Between June 1 1940 and May 8 1945, 521 Belgian officers served as pilot or navigator in the RAF and 128 were killed. Many Belgians were also trained in the South African Air Force SAAF, and consequently took part in the operations in Africa.
During the battle of Britain 28 Belgian pilots flew with RAF Fighter Command. Their names are remembered with gratitude in the UK in the Battle of Britain roll of honour at Westminster Abbey, as well as by the BoB Historical Society & BoB Memorial Trust.

Why are the subtitles so wrong?
Narration was well executed, but I could have used less narration overall, and allowed more time for the images to speak. By the end, I found myself tuning the narration out.
The UK was very lucky because Hitler made the mistake to concentrate almost all his forces on attacking Urss. If Hitler wouldn't attack Urss and go straight for UK with Urss Japan and Italy, then UK would have been gone in 2 weeks no doubt and no discussion. That was UK's luck..
In your opinion
Utter garbage.

‘From 10 May until 11 June, the British and French air forces lost around 1,850 aircraft in combat, of which some 950 were French. Luftwaffe losses were around 1,100.’

Gibraltar isn't an Island and Ultra wasn't the name of the British codebreaking operation, it was the system of dissemination of intelligence resulting from that operation. These are schoolboy level errors.
