7:55 That year (beginning of about 2012) I started playing Runescape because I had just put internet, and decided it was going to be the first online game I would play. I joined Guilenor not as a player but as an adventurer. It was a fantasy world, simple and incredible, mysterious and dangerous. I remember my first steps in Lumbridge when I come out of a basement after defeating a red dragon, along with one of the white knights, otherwise I'm mistaken. I joined a clan, of the time with simpler clans, and I participated, like a warrior, and made friends with the passage of the time. With the flag clans, I have founded a clan of my own, which I have until today, even though I no longer enter the game. The friends I made in the game, who entered my clan, today are just names darkened in the list of clan members, who never go online again. When I see it, I feel empty, forgetful. This game has had a very important part in my life, and so it makes me sad, to know that it is not and will not be what it was before. Even oldschool, it's not the time I actually played. It was Runescape HD, which came about in 2010 itself. I miss my life in 2011.

I am in the exact same boat. I started at the end of 2010 and played up until eoc. I played for about 2 hours back when I was in 4th grade (2007) but that's all. I'm maxed in osrs now but never really get the true nostalgia from osrs.

Haha i rem that login screen. 7:55 I was a veteran 12 yo at the time with a 17 yo online gf. This game taught me stocks, cheating, money, fighting, the boys, “doubling plox”, red portal, not to mess with revanants or ghosts in the real world. And most importantly, it taught me how to grind lol

10:11 at this point, i was the fuckn goat in clan wars, music cape, 99 at hitting 30s with my rune 2h in f2p. Everyone loved the game at this time still, dungeoneering was just around the corner, which was the height of fashionscape imo when we first seen for the first time ever a level 120 skill cape. Very very very quickly this era got infested with bots and died forever IMO

Exactly how I felt man I just started at the end of old school and logged in one day after it changed to HD thinking I had a new weapon but it was rune scim with the HD look :/ fuck I miss the HD era before eoc fucked RuneScape. I'm from 2004 era. Still play to this day. RS3 is awesome. I enjoy change and love growing up with the game and evolving into its different styles throughout the years. Plus, I love the new epic music. Def miss the old days but who doesn't miss the past? However i most certainly enjoy Runescape for what it is now.

Runescape after their CEO changed was a game that got worse and worse after every update, and EoC was the nail to the coffin. Now its just greed of RS3 and 07 is decent, atleast the guys behind 07 are listening their fans with their updates most of the time. But whats the point of 07 in the end? They just went back many years, so everything seemed to go into waste. 07 is like we going back to windows XP because it was one of the best ones...

I was there for the tail end of Runescape Classic when there was no music and only members could have sound effects :D I remember how amazed I was at Runescape "2"'s graphics and interface, and of course amazing music. That first theme brings me back to when my little brother spread Runescape across the entire school and everyone would talk about it every day at lunch. Great times.

2:50 was my era. The nostalgia I just experienced. I was a Runescape BANDIT. God this brings me back. My computer would take ages to load up the login screen and it would be a miracle if I got in to the actual game to play it. My mum then bought me a new computer for my 7th birthday and, by God, I could play SMOOTHLY. Got up to level 76 myself before I started to get bored but damn. Such cool memories.

In my opinion, the one at 3:00 is the most unique. It's symmetrical, stylistic, symbolic, original...all the other ones are nice, but they just make the game look like any of the other millions of RPGs out there. Out of all the login screens, that's the one you'll most likely remember.

I ran this game faithfully from summer 2005 to early 2009... that's when too many things had gotten outta hand. When they restored wilderness and free trade... it still didn't feel the same. I came back for a bit. Everything changed... my journey began to the tune of what starts playing at 2:49. I was Allen1350 and made many good friends along my journey. All the wonderful memories 2001 Theme: I was in secondary school (or high school to some of you), and I saw someone played this in the school library, so I started trying it out myself. It's the first ever mmo I played, and I played it quite seriously. It was also then that I learnt all about cybersecurity the hard way (getting scammed of my account lol). From then on, I was a serious advocate in teaching my friends about cybersecurity and I was quite hardcore on reporting any scam incident I come across even if the victim was someone else Scape Main 2005: Advanced my second and permanent account to a jack of all trades, but quitted after some time due to my obsession with dota in that era Scape Main 2008: I wanted to log in but I forgot my account. So I played alternate accounts for a short while Runescape 2013: I came back to play ironman mode, and finally subscribed as a member for the first time after 14 years, as I started having a full time job. I probably spent 10 years of my life playing this game multiple hours a day, lots of good memories. I remember my brother and i running a scam involving monkey nuts and washing bowls, 2 items very few people knew anything about that had no value. Id be at one side of a bank (usually varrock west) spamming "selling monkey nut 2m" and he would be on other side of bank just out of my view spamming "buying monkey nut 2.5m". You have no idea how many people we scammed cause they thought theyd make a quick 500k profit. Eventually i moved on from my scamming ways and at the end of my time i was 5 manning corp on teams that required ovls and turm...ugh wish i could go back in time

All these youngins in here who started in 04 and earlier. So cute, I started in the golden age of Runescape, year 2000. Now I’m so old(30). I miss playing with my old friends. Mining rune essence on the daily for 30gp each. Well before the exchange. When Zamora, guthix and saradomin cost well over a mil. Fishing lobbies for 90 gp each. Chopping willow logs for 30 gp each. Sitting on a fishing spot asking for levels. Seeing someone say 70 and my response “nice”. Slaying cows for the coveted cowhide. Pursuing the coal mine in Fally just to get inside the lvl 60 mine. And simply this one, walking from lumbridge to Varrock and then on to Falador. Countless drop parties, countless arena battles, and dungeon wars. Sniping geese from the lumbridge bridges. Oh the days, when youth was unimportant, but now is cherished. Thanks for this video my man. I loved it.

Started in 2003. Something magical that continued till 2005-07. After some break I played again from late -08 to late -09. Nowadays it just feels that I'm lost if I try new RS. If I try Oldschool, I would have to start to all over again..

I stumbled across it on miniclip in 2002. I could get about 1fps on my dial up modem. I remember crying because someone scammed me out of my full bronze in the basement of Varrock bank. It taught me a life lesson to never trust anyone. Anyway good music

Even though I began in 2005, I am most fond of the RS2 HD theme. In 2008-2009 I had fairly decent skills, a clan with lots of friends and the game felt well polished overall. I will miss it.

I created my first account in 2004, quit because I died to a level 7 farmer and lost all my stuff (I was a kid and had no idea how to find a bank or how to know what my combat level was). I came back in 2006 with a new account which is still my main to this day. Man, to think I've been enjoying Gielinor for 14 years... one of the greatest games I've ever played (both in its previous versions and RS3, which is my personal favorite) and I'm not planning on giving it up ever.

2005-2013. It wasn't really the EOC that made me quit, I didn't mind it. It's just all of my old friends I used to play with had stopped playing. A list of 100ish people and no one was ever on. My IRL friends had quit as well. Runescape just felt empty to me.

7:55 That year (beginning of about 2012) I started playing Runescape because I had just put internet, and decided it was going to be the first online game I would play. I joined Guilenor not as a player but as an adventurer. It was a fantasy world, simple and incredible, mysterious and dangerous. I remember my first steps in Lumbridge when I come out of a basement after defeating a red dragon, along with one of the white knights, otherwise I'm mistaken. I joined a clan, of the time with simpler clans, and I participated, like a warrior, and made friends with the passage of the time. With the flag clans, I have founded a clan of my own, which I have until today, even though I no longer enter the game. The friends I made in the game, who entered my clan, today are just names darkened in the list of clan members, who never go online again. When I see it, I feel empty, forgetful. This game has had a very important part in my life, and so it makes me sad, to know that it is not and will not be what it was before. Even oldschool, it's not the time I actually played. It was Runescape HD, which came about in 2010 itself. I miss my life in 2011.
I am in the exact same boat. I started at the end of 2010 and played up until eoc. I played for about 2 hours back when I was in 4th grade (2007) but that's all. I'm maxed in osrs now but never really get the true nostalgia from osrs.
Haha i rem that login screen. 7:55 I was a veteran 12 yo at the time with a 17 yo online gf. This game taught me stocks, cheating, money, fighting, the boys, “doubling plox”, red portal, not to mess with revanants or ghosts in the real world. And most importantly, it taught me how to grind lol
10:11 at this point, i was the fuckn goat in clan wars, music cape, 99 at hitting 30s with my rune 2h in f2p. Everyone loved the game at this time still, dungeoneering was just around the corner, which was the height of fashionscape imo when we first seen for the first time ever a level 120 skill cape. Very very very quickly this era got infested with bots and died forever IMO
Exactly how I felt man I just started at the end of old school and logged in one day after it changed to HD thinking I had a new weapon but it was rune scim with the HD look :/ fuck I miss the HD era before eoc fucked RuneScape. Plus, I love the new epic music. Def miss the old days but who doesn't miss the past? However i most certainly enjoy Runescape for what it is now.

I was there for the tail end of Runescape Classic when there was no music and only members could have sound effects :D I remember how amazed I was at Runescape "2"'s graphics and interface, and of course amazing music. That first theme brings me back to when my little brother spread Runescape across the entire school and everyone would talk about it every day at lunch. Great times.

In my opinion, the one at 3:00 is the most unique. It's symmetrical, stylistic, symbolic, original...all the other ones are nice, but they just make the game look like any of the other millions of RPGs out there. Out of all the login screens, that's the one you'll most likely remember.

All the wonderful memories 2001 Theme: I was in secondary school (or high school to some of you), and I saw someone played this in the school library, so I started trying it out myself. It's the first ever mmo I played, and I played it quite seriously. It was also then that I learnt all about cybersecurity the hard way (getting scammed of my account lol). From then on, I was a serious advocate in teaching my friends about cybersecurity and I was quite hardcore on reporting any scam incident I come across even if the victim was someone else Scape Main 2005: Advanced my second and permanent account to a jack of all trades, but quitted after some time due to my obsession with dota in that era Scape Main 2008: I wanted to log in but I forgot my account. So I played alternate accounts for a short while Runescape 2013: I came back to play ironman mode, and finally subscribed as a member for the first time after 14 years, as I started having a full time job. I probably spent 10 years of my life playing this game multiple hours a day, lots of good memories. I remember my brother and i running a scam involving monkey nuts and washing bowls, 2 items very few people knew anything about that had no value. Id be at one side of a bank (usually varrock west) spamming "selling monkey nut 2m" and he would be on other side of bank just out of my view spamming "buying monkey nut 2.5m". You have no idea how many people we scammed cause they thought theyd make a quick 500k profit. Eventually i moved on from my scamming ways and at the end of my time i was 5 manning corp on teams that required ovls and turm...ugh wish i could go back in time

RuneScape got good around 2012 and 2013. I started playing around 2010 but I disliked the game until the EoC.
I joined Runescape around 2009-2010. Around that time literally everyone in our school (Even some people in Elementary, including me at the time.) was playing the game. My older sister was the one who got me into the game and at the time I had signed up using my parent's email.

All these youngins in here who started in 04 and earlier. So cute, I started in the golden age of Runescape, year 2000. Now I’m so old(30). I miss playing with my old friends. Mining rune essence on the daily for 30gp each. Well before the exchange. When Zamora, guthix and saradomin cost well over a mil. Fishing lobbies for 90 gp each. Chopping willow logs for 30 gp each. Sitting on a fishing spot asking for levels. Seeing someone say 70 and my response “nice”. Slaying cows for the coveted cowhide. Pursuing the coal mine in Fally just to get inside the lvl 60 mine. And simply this one, walking from lumbridge to Varrock and then on to Falador. Countless drop parties, countless arena battles, and dungeon wars. Sniping geese from the lumbridge bridges. Oh the days, when youth was unimportant, but now is cherished. Thanks for this video my man. I loved it.
RuneScape classic didn't release until 2001, so either you're remembering incorrectly or you're full of shit.
Started in 2003. Something magical that continued till 2005-07. After some break I played again from late -08 to late -09. Nowadays it just feels that I'm lost if I try new RS. If I try Oldschool, I would have to start to all over again..
Wow, I started back in 2007 (played till early 2013) but actually that RS3 theme is a pretty badass rendition. Love what they did with the trills.

I stumbled across it on miniclip in 2002. I could get about 1fps on my dial up modem. I remember crying because someone scammed me out of my full bronze in the basement of Varrock bank. It taught me a life lesson to never trust anyone. Anyway good music
Boy this brings back memories. Particularly the screen from July 2008, when HD came to Runescape. Messed up my beloved crystal bow. But I did love full screen. The other object they messed up, was Nietiznot Helm.

OMG i started playing RS when i was 13 this brings back alot of memories. 11years ago it was amazing with my school mates we used to play at home and also at school no one could stop us. mining and woodcutting all day, back then one cared about graphics i hope they wil bring back ors on Android that would be the best day ever

Played when 0:00 was the login theme.Runescape is the sole reason i use the name accel103 to this very day. Logging in to rs countless amounts of time has made the name impossible for me to forget and ever since then i use it in everything.
I still think RSHD was the best era of Runescape, closely followed by RS2.

I played just before the summoning release. Man I remember the hype just to go start leveling the new skill when it came out. Even for the young age of only being 7 or 8

The animated menu was the best. Remember when started playing RS and I saw these locations and was like „wow, wish my parents would buy me membership” Time flies boys, time flies...
Even though I began in 2005, I am most fond of the RS2 HD theme. In 2008-2009 I had fairly decent skills, a clan with lots of friends and the game felt well polished overall. I will miss it.

I created my first account in 2004, quit because I died to a level 7 farmer and lost all my stuff (I was a kid and had no idea how to find a bank or how to know what my combat level was). I came back in 2006 with a new account which is still my main to this day. Man, to think I've been enjoying Gielinor for 14 years... one of the greatest games I've ever played (both in its previous versions and RS3, which is my personal favorite) and I'm not planning on giving it up ever.

I remember being only 6-ish when I first logged on back in '06. And when I found out they made old-school servers I instantly had a nostalgic rush.
crazy to think i have memories for each theme and represented an era of my account 2005 (my journey began) 2006 ( mining pure ess and getting good) then the hd theme reminds me of my comeback as I got hacked in 07 then in 09 got my account back and first 99 and the 2010 theme just reminds me of getting 99 mining. 2013+ is my epic era multi 99s and rich should easily have maxed by now but i keep leaving and coming back

I maybe remembering wrong but I started playing runescape since december 2004 and I'm fairly certain it had the RS classic logging music but the second screen shown in the video.
For me, the saddest update was when they changed the music.
2005-2013. It wasn't really the EOC that made me quit, I didn't mind it. It's just all of my old friends I used to play with had stopped playing. A list of 100ish people and no one was ever on. My IRL friends had quit as well. Runescape just felt empty to me.
When that happens you join a clan, a real one. Skype group chat. You'll never feel empty on rs again. It's all about moving on and finding new people. You can do it. I did :)
