Let me take you along to Lesbos Airport (MJT/LGMT), one of the most beautiful approaches I’ve ever flown in Greece! 😍 A cockpit view approach and landing in a Boeing 737-800 on runway 14 in Mytilene airport, Lesbos, Greece. The video shows what it's like to fly a RNP approach and visual/ manual landing in a Boeing 737 800. Interesting facts, approach charts and actual call-outs and Boeing procedures were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during landing. Would you also like to see other approaches and landings in islands like Samos, Mykonos or even Iceland (Reykjavik)? Let me know what you think guys!

  • When I was a short time student pilot (ran out of money) I was always fascinated by the transition from a flying airplane to a high speed tricycle. I still remember landing a Beach Sundowner on a Icey runway at St. Cloud Minnesota. I admire the skill these people develop and use on every flight. I thank them for their effort.

  • That was delightful! The runway was long enough. Back in 93', I took a flight from Malia to Leyte in the Philippines. The 737 used every inch of that strip with full reverse soon as the tires hit the tarmac. Then the turn at the end of the runway felt like a wing was dragging on one side. Takeoff was about the same, with pilot bringing the engines to full power in the taxi lanes. It was a wild ride!

  • As you start the descent, approach, and landing, people will enjoy (and learn) more if you add communications with Regional Approach, Control Tower, and Ground Controllers. How the plane is handed over from controller to controller. I found that amazingly interesting, the jargon, the call signs, the frequency changes, the talk in the cockpit between the Capitan and the FO, and many more things going on during landing. Every single landing is unique. Congratulations, you do an amazing job with the videos and as a pilot.

  • Added an earlier comment but thought I would add a personal note. One of my sons wrote a biography of his Uncle, Harry Bernard. Harry was born in Scotland ~& came to the US at age 5. He was a Navy pilot during WWII & he flew Pan Africa during the war. He was in the Golden Age of Aviation & met some of those Pioneers. Harry flew every plane from a DC-1 to DC-10 plus Helo’s His military flight log has over 25,000 hours plus he had a Twin 1964 Piper Cherokee which he even flew over the North Pole! Can you Imagine the “seat of your pants” flying he did before avionics!! Wish you could have met this little Scotsman, those kind of pilots are gone forever!!

  • Well I’m an old 81 year old Southern Gentleman from North Carolina, just stumbled onto your KZhead videos & am blown away seeing such brains & flying skill in such a beautiful package!!! I was an early 1960’s 8th Air Force, 68th Bomb Wing 2nd seater-all I ever heard on com was dudes!! B58 Hustlers had a malfunction detection system with a unique attention getter among all the air chatter. When a malfunction was detected a sweet sounding lady would mike in i.e. “you all have a fire in # 4 engine” can you imagine them trying that today!! Safe skies & smooth landing young lady, could watch you flying for hours, but need my milk & cookies before bedtime!!

  • We are moving to Lesbos Greece here In three weeks and I love the approach into Mytilene. As a private pilot it's really cool to see the approach from the cockpit. Keep it up!

  • HI DPG. I recently stumbled onto your videos and I"m hooked. Although I am not a pilot, my DAD was. He was a B17 bomber pilot during the war and brought me up in planes. Sometimes I regret not having followed in his footsteps but, medicine turned out to be a great profession. Deepest sympathy on the recent loss of your grandfather. I'm sure he was so proud of his granddaughter. Keep up the great work. Love the graphics. F
