Sorry guys. I cocked up - the gearbox in this car has 9 speeds not 7 as I said. I just can't count...that's why I had to give up being a chartered accountant. Please forgive me for being such an idiot. It won't happen again (it probably will actually).

But the larger problem is, that you did not told us how a 9-speed gearbox is to drive. Did the gears always switch up and down or are the additional gears intended for high speed driving in Germany.
Coming here after seeing the new S and all I can say is that this version is waaay nicer... more classy, more beautiful

Mat you are hands down the best vehicle reviewer on KZhead and pretty much anywhere else. Particularly for the 90% of us who aren't splitting hairs on torque, CCs, HP, G forces, and the Area 51 aerodynamics testing done by Ze Germans etc. You get what most of us want to know which is: 1. Ride comfort (on and off road coz my Grandpa hates rocky suspension due to previous surgery). 2. Back row seating space (So my grandma can nap calmly on long drives). 3. Boot space. 4. Cubby spaces (criminally understated by many other reviewers). 5. Seat comfort and knee space. 6. Fuel economy. 7. How fast or slow it is (For us in African countries where overtaking is life). 8. Sound and Navigation system (So I can keep my wife and son entertained). Keep it up!
I still prefer this s class , it’s too early to create a new one because this still looks brand new!

I had The same offset steering to the left in my previous c class. Makes finding the perfect driving position almost impossible. Thumbs up Mat as you are the only reviewer who mention this problem across the mercedes range 👍

I didn't mind the leaves, but that slab of plastic in the middle of the grill is absolutely hideous!
SsgtHolland it's for the Distronic Plus. There are sensors that monitor the road in order to brake in time etc. But it's optional I guess!

Hi Mat, nice video :) If I am not mistaken the other large change in the interior of the facelifted S Class is that the two screens on the dashboard are now one unit like in the E Class.

Josh Bacon I've noticed it on my car in the UK, a wild guess but maybe it's done soo that in the case of an accident where the drive idk sleeps behind the wheel, your car would veer to the left, as opposed to going straight or right into oncoming cars. Maybe safety?

@Jędrzej Górski Exactly. It's just like model 3 they introduced 2 years ahead of production just because they panicked when Chevy came out with their EV. It was to "lock in" as many of their fanatic fans as possible before they would go over to other brands. Instead of ever faster 0-60, they should hire some quality managers to improve their build quality. After so many years of model S production they STILL have a tone of quality problems that you don't even find in budget cars any longer. But they keep milking that 0-60, hence why it's called the one trick pony. If model 3 has any of those quality problems Tesla will go bankrupt. I hope they have learned from their mistakes.
