      @DaGn0528@DaGn0528 Жыл бұрын
  • My favorite pro tip is : CLUBS (from Get Together). You don't have to use clubs like it is a real life club, for example have a knitting club and club gatherings to knit from time to time. Use clubs like groups. Create friend groups with clubs, and when you want to invite people over, all you have to do is start a club gathering: it lasts for as long as you want and the sims won't leave until you stop the club gathering. It's also much easier to control the sims in a club. You don't have to create event or call people of after the other. But the best part is to create a club for you household only, and you leave the club gathering always running. Then, in the club, you put useful activities to do or common interactions, such as: be nice, make jokes, clean, make food, sleep, repair objects, etc. Your club points will go up by themselves overtime and you will be able to eventually purchase all bonuses, which will make your sims build skills faster, just be happier overall (stronger moodlets), etc. They will also clean, cook and repair objects (for example) more often autonomously. It's honestly very strong and not enough people know about this trick. Honestly now that I use clubs this way, I never wanna go back and couldn't play without Get Together ahah. (I didn't come up with it btw, I found out about this trick watching Simsav, IDK if she came up with it but I don't think she did either.)

  • Can I recommend a short guide on customizing neighborhood stories? I understand a new player will probably be less overwhelmed with them completely turned off, but I actually like having the neighbors move around and have kids on their own since a big problem of long term gameplay is active Sims being the only ones with descendants. It would be helpful to know where the settings are for turning off death (which is way too common) and telling specific households not to move around. The settings are kind of buried in the households panel even for families accessible by clicking on a house.

I tend to have it off for my favourite households, and leave it on on the others for a little bit then monitor it and turn it off again. The accidental deaths got out of hand though it kept killing new parents so I turned that off after only a day or two in game lol!

    • I had a sim get married to his friend who, before he proposed, asked if she should change her job. I as usual said "yes" because I like it when neighbors/friends have a life without thinking much about it. Forward the story a few sim weeks later - my sims, who are now married and have children, see that a flea market is happening. I send the father to go there and leave the mother and children home, but the wife calls. She tells me she changed her job as I told her to do - which was very painful, since I haven't saved in a long time. It wouldn't matter if it wasn't for the fact that I've been leveling up her artist career (it was lvl 8) because of her aspiration (it was painter extraordinaire, she only had the last task left, which was the job) and she changed it to another one. Then she calls me again to tell me she changed it back to artist - I can't with sims sometimes. Edit: fixed structure of a sentence + grammar

You can purchase roses, pomegranates, potatoes, even seasonal packets of seeds that way for a bigger variety of options. • When I comes to gardening the one thing that annoys me is evolving everything one at a time. This is especially true when you have a lot of plants, packed close together and you have to try and figure out which one is glittering

    @earlyjicama4302@earlyjicama4302 Жыл бұрын
    • I like gardening in the sims. But Evolving is annoying for sure for me at least. I usually leave enough space between the plants etc so its easier for me to see which ones need evolving. Also annoying is when you place say a bunch of seeds nicely and yours sims just scatters them and you have to rearrange them. Usually I don't even bother to place the seeds nicely anymore after the sims plants them then I arrange. I like making gardens and green houses.

I grew up on Sims 1~2, so I find the needs drain way too slow in the Sims 4, so the Aspiration traits are basically cheats for me 😆In the same vein, I would always play with Lot Challenges and Temperature effects; I always welcome more challenges (and more ways for sims to die). I also love to have Neighbourhood stories because then my unplayed households will keep changing and it feels less "dead". However!! Seems like we both agree on turning off aging on played sims lmao. You can even hire a gardener to take care of your garden for you and it's extremely easy to make enough money from the produce to pay for hiring them. • Don't forget to switch aspirations often. Before cooking, switch to a cooking aspiration, then switch to a painting aspiration and paint a picture. Before your sim goes to town, switch to a popular aspiration etc. I cannot emphasize enough enough just how useful aspiration points are. My main sims never sleep because I have spent their aspiration points wisely. Also it's a good idea to spend 5000pts on a moneytree seed and then use the copypasto spell from Realm Of Magic or the cloning machine from Get To Work on it. Oops. As a new player you may have neither, which is cool because packs are expensive. This is also why I am astonished that the Satch recommends gardening for moneymaking. Yes, I can confirm that Tiny Living and Seasons are nice packs, but without them I think it's better to start with woodworking, painting or writing. Especially woodworking is nice. Not only do you get decorations for your home that can be sold for good money, you also get the handiness skill which is a skill that always comes in handy.

It's only after my sims moved to a larger house/lot where gardening actually paid off. My four sims have _pretty much_ hit the four corners of the market. One's a writer who cranks out books like a madman. Another paints and she's the one who got us going in the first place. The third makes all sorts of sculptures and furniture to be sold, and fixes _everything_ around the house. And the fourth has been doing gardening, but it only, just now, paid off. Granted, doing the whole grafting thing to make Death Flowers was totally worth it, but it takes a long time to pay off. That said, Super Sell on flowers for a cool 1.2 million was awesome.

  • I've found that a few of the personality traits on the first tab are Super helpful with skill gains. They all help by periodically autonomously putting your sim into certain moods. For instance Cheerful is going to make your sim "happy" and that is going to buff any mood you're in by a point or 2. Creative is for "inspired" which speeds up all music/art/cooking/acting skilling. Genius gives you "focus" so science/wellness/fitness/gardening. And Self-Assured is for "confidence" dancing/politics etc. Obviously there's super easy ways to put your sims in any mood, but if you're planning on maxing out every instrument or being a mad scientist or something- it doesn't hurt to have them pop into it on their own. If anything their trait can buff up the shower/bath/tea/incense/decor/massage/lot trait.. w/e you already have going.

  • Great trait tip! Will also be sure to make the most of lot traits, too. Gardening is honestly so good; I did rags to riches and planted roses, lilies and other expensive plants that I harvested from around the world. My sim makes soo much money from selling plants that she might as well quit her job. 😂 Handy video! 👍

  • The nice thing about making a "party size" of food is that you're discounted on your magically teleported ingredients more and more the larger the serving count is... and I think that when you group cook, the serving is increased even further to 12 servings (and probably for free), but sadly it can take some effort to get group cooking to work as it seems to possibly create simulation lag... or just very confused or currently occupied sims. I know that I've had group cooking take longer because a sim involved in the group was quite far away or in the middle of an activity or other interaction.

  • Ooh I just had a fun idea for a video based on this, something like "Sims 4 iceberg knowledge". You know them pictures of an iceberg where the knowledge gets more and more niche and complex as you go down to the bottom? Something similar to that so it's level 1, level 2 etc of different "did you knows"? And you could do that for bb, cas and gameplay as well if you were inspired. You can share your tips at all different skill levels and people get to have fun testing themselves if they know the most advanced stuff. Or, more simply, you could no doubt find a Sims 4 iceberg pic and just enjoy going through it and testing yourself plus explaining things to us that we might not know. I genuinely haven't seen this done before but no doubt some creators have in the past. Really enjoy your content and thanks for sharing all these tips 😊

  • If you're gonna start with gardening, best to start with flowers or fruits I think since the value of certain flowers and fruits goes way up. Roses, birds of paradise, pomegranates, dragonfruit are all my faves for get rich quick schemes. Btw, great tip about the prices in build mode items. I usually just go for the first few items on the menu, assuming they're the cheapest. But you make a really good point that you don't have to be limited to the first few items. I'll definitely check all the prices next time I need to do a budget build.

  • I think you should do a video on all the perk traits sims can get as they age up - the top-notch-toddler trait, gifted traits, scout trait, character value traits, etc, because I keep encountering people online who have the relevant packs but don't know much/anything about them. I play on short lifespan and can almost always get all of them so it's not too hard to do if you optimize gameplay. Sims with all of them are pretty OP and once they get to teen years and get the savant trait and have parents mentor them they can max any mentorable skill in a day. One tip is to always do the child social aspiration only after you've completed creativity and motor and most of mental if you have outdoor retreat so you can buy the "incredibly friendly" reward which will help a lot with making friends. Also most of the child aspiration goals double up with things you need to do for scouts, so by the time you get to teen the only scouting thing left is the outdoor activities, which you can get by just grilling several meals.

  • Plant strawberries and snapdragon. Graft them on one another to get dragon fruits. Those are worth a LOT. Place a huge roof above your lot. It's free and make your garden sheltered, allowing all plants to bloom in all seasons. Add a few bee hives. They help improve the quality of your plants. A lot challenge tat I personally like is «Volcanic activity» from Island Living. Yes, the tremors and volcanic eruptions will scare your Sims. Yes, they may cause stuff to brake. But, those volcanic bombs always contain some nice, and often valuable, goodies. Also, repairing the damage is good for handiness. The «gremlins» challenge will force your Sims to build their handiness skill as they repair the damage from those pests.

  • With High school years, if you make a teen in CAS you can get two of the Aspiration traits by selecting the first one you want, say the popularity aspiration's trait, Gregarious, finishing in CAS and then changing your active aspiration to one of the teen aspirations, then age up your sim with an active teen aspiration. The aging up menu will then prompt you to choosing an another adult aspiration because adults don't have access to the teen aspirations, meaning you can get a second permanent aspiration trait such as the romance aspiration trait, Alluring.

They come in the seasons pack and they grow in summer and fall.

  • I like starting with painting and writing instead of gardening. They are easy to build skills that gets me some free money. I usually also start with a vampire for having less needs, and a spellcaster for later game benefits. I choose self assured, goofball and cheerful for my sims, as they don't give negative moodlets for not doing something. For the lot traits, I choose natural light, fast internet and vampire lair. This helps with the writing and painting skills, and gives me some essentials for my vampire.

You can build it at the Foxbury student community center if you can't afford a robot station at home. No need to enroll either. Realm of Magic has a couple gardening spells. Not game changers, but they let you grow your plants and your magic power at the same time. (Spinningplumbobs' Fairies vs Witches mod has a couple more, as has Triplis' Become a Sorcerer mod, but not everyone can use mods.)

That neighborhood is filled to the brim with collectables. Even more so because stray pets will dig up and leave piles of presents around for you to just put in your inventory to sell. Super easy way to make money for a Rags to Riches or Legacy challenge.

  • there are great tips, its good to play around with it to get your personal feel for your desired setting too. I’ve started so many new games and finally have a good setting for my game. my personal in starting a new game is to turn off auto aging for townies but keep it on for my played sims for a sense of time progression. But I like the townies aging off so I can interact with each of them in my own time. Also I don’t turn neighborhood stories completely off but I disable some things. I disable their ability to die via neighborhood stories (again want to interact with them in my own time), I don’t let them move out so the goths or other starting townies don’t end up somewhere weird, and turned off being able to leave their careers. I decided to not turn off pet adoption which might bite me in the ass later but what the heck lol.

  • Gardening is my go to when I don't want to cheat to make money fast. LILIES & ROSES are the most profitable, harvested from the Newcrest neighborhood. I make around $2500 - $7000+ per garden "sell all" from 8-12 planted Lily Flowers or Rose Flowers, depending on the quality of the garden. Great Soil and Homey lots, and Greenthumb help the garden thrive.

If you really want the plats in a straight line you need to either leave som space between them and they'll plant where you put them OR just put them all out randomly and move them once your sim has planted all of them. I do the latter.

  • You can make a lot of money gardening, but it's also a lot of work. And to really make a ton of money gardening, you need the best plants. UFO (Undentified Fruit Objects) are my personal favorite. But there are other good choices. If you have the buy/build mode cheat on, which I highly recommend, you can get anything you want. But the quickest and easiest ways to make money at the beginning of the game are fishing, painting, freelance writing, and harvesting wild plants and collectibles. If you are super broke, though, don't bother building a house at all. Set up a tent instead and build a small outhouse. Basically, a tiny building that has a bathroom. You can then add a mini-fridge, grill, and high-tech trash can as upgrades to your hobo camp. As for bonus aspiration traits, there is a way to get all of them. Pick an aspiration, go into CAS, and then click the check mark to finish editing your sim. Then pick another aspiration and do it again. These bonus traits can be helpful. But they aren't game changers. They are more like wimpy versions of some of the better traits in the game. But still, it doesn't hurt to have them. As for jobs in the game, don't bother with them. You can make a lot more money doing other things. Except for one little trick. Complete an aspiration or two and get the connections trait. Then start and quit each job in the game. You will start at level 2 or 3 at each job and will get bonus items each time. It can add up to over 20,000 simoleons. Just don't bother with the part-time jobs except for life guard and diver. They are the only ones with good bonuses. And this trick is one that you can only do once. But it's a nice way to get some cash early in the game. Also make use of venues. Libraries have computers, etc. And there are places you can find painting easels. You don't even need to buy your own. And if you get a quick meal out of a refrigerator, there is no cost for it. And if other sims make food, you can eat it for free as well.

  • Gardening is way OP. Especially with the Cottage Living pack. It offers some of the most valuable flowers and produce as a regularly purchasable object in Henford. One of the fastest skill and money gains is strawberries and snapdragons. Strawberries grow fast. You can grow both of those and shortly be able to grow dragon fruit through splicing. Dragonfruit is slow to get your first harvest but worth so much each you can pretty much quit your job as soon as your first batch is mature.
