Theres a place in California where the sand dunes sing. I've wanted to explore this the Eureka Dunes for a long time and actually hear what it sounds like.

yep !! great clickbait it got me quick lol
Oh wow that’s amazing the shorts work as intended 😱
This video was amazing, the story and plot were on point. Like your style of story telling man. I’m looking forward to be a good story teller in my video thanks for the inspiration man
Great video, I was really hoping you would of tripped and fell when u where running down the sand mountain at the end
it was so soft you sunk in so deep. at one point we were rolling around it 😂
That’s crazy, we just visited those dunes a couple years ago and had no idea about the fact that they produced that sound. Like you, it was a windy day for us and we probably wouldn’t have been able to hear it anyways. Thanks for sharing this, very cool video and I think you just gave me a reason to go back and check out Death Valley one more time
That sound is haunting! The best part of trips like that is the journey to get there. It's an excuse to get out and see something. I dig these videos!
Hi Jeven , what a great video! The filming, the history and sound of the sand is amazing and very well told. I love traveling and exploring and from time to time share on my channel in spite of what my overall channel is about and followed for. So thank you for sharing because I learn so much from your content, whether it be tutorials or your adventures. So congrats on your new channel and I look forward to following you on this channel as well.
Great stuff. Been watching your other channel for a while and using some of your tips in my own exploring videos. Glad I found this channel now.. great videos
Man this is amazing, loved the place and your visual story. Whenever I visit the US again, I'll make sure to see some of the places you show us!
The music in this video is perfect. It’s never easy to hike in the sand. Thanks for sharing something new!
I really enjoyed this journey. Thanks for sharing the behind-the-scenes stuff. 👍👍
Great video as always!! I love your story telling style! 😊
Thanks for showing us Jeven! 🙏
Hi Jeven cool video! It's really interesting to hear the sounds of the dune. Sounds like an organ. Amazing phenomenon. I like the format of this video!
Hi Jeven, great video, very interesting! With the perfect amount of informations on the dunes and the behind the scene task of filming. The sound is amazing. PS : nice rack focus at the end. Anne & Eric
Really enjoyed your video. Dune sound is amazing. Also appreciated your honesty about capturing the sound for the video. 😁
Great videos, Jeven! Looking forward to seeing more on this channel .... Climbing sand dunes is very hard - you should have brought a body board for some sand boarding down the dunes - that's a lot of fun!
Such a good idea! Next time I go explore some dunes I'll have to bring one
Hey Jeven, awesome video man!! Just found your channels and I’m loving the content! What’s crazy is I just realized I was there the exact same time you were and was drooling over your rig at the dunes. Don’t know if you remember a 5th gen grey 4Runner with a tepui tent, that was me!! Also that was the day those people lost their lab and were searching all evening and night.
Small world. There was only a few of us out there. We were climbing the dunes at night and could see everyone looking for that dog.
*climbing sand dunes are the worst, every foot step just sinks, like walking through syrup. That sound is pretty crazy.*
Great video! Climbing dunes is a real workout. The dunes at Great Sand Dunes National Park here in CO are 900 feet almost killed me 😂
Excellent story Jeven. Very inspiring how you do these/
Such an interesting video. Glad I subscribed. Look forward to more 👍🏻🇬🇧
Nice video. Michigan has Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore along Lake Michigan. The Dune Climb is one of my favorite things to do in the state. It's about 3 and a half miles to hike the trail and back, but you're going up and down multiple sand dunes that range from 200 to 400 feet. Most people wouldn't expect a site like Sleeping Bear Dunes in the Midwest.
Super interesting. If I ever get out that way I'll have to check it out!
Loved this! That noise was very freaky. I was able to visit DVNP for the first time in 2021, it was amazing!
So bizarre. Its even more freaky standing there because you can feel it
thats really cool, never knew this was a thing. thanks for sharing and providing more inspiration to go explore!
Thanks for making this video very informative and interesting. 👍🏽
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the style of the video!! Came from your other channel😃👍🏻
Thanks for going out there and capturing the sound, you did it for all the right reasons :) Sometimes you just have to hear and feel it for yourself.
What a great video. I have never heard about this phenomenon, so now I want to check it out!
Apart from the great adventures you are sharing with us, I'm learning a lot from your other channel and this one to make my channel better. Thank you!
Loved this video and the phenomenon you shared. Subscribed! ❤️👍
Thats pretty awesome. Didn't even know that was possible. Great video to. Keep them coming
So crazy when you hear it in person!
Great video I've just come across from your main channel and I look forward to watching more videos😁👍
Loving these videos Jeven.
Thanks!!
Nice story, loved it. You should have done a little sand surfing while you were there.
This is great man!
Great video Jeven, I always like a good story and informative facts. I’ll have to add this to my bucket list. Question, how do you avoid getting sand in your gear? I’ve wanted to shoot at the beach but I steer away from it because of fear my gear taking a 💩 after due to sand. Any tips?
We got sand in our gear. It was a mess. Bring a blower to trying and get it out and bring a good backpack that can keep it out.
Wow, what a cool phenomenon! I found you via a search I did after watching a piece on the making of the sound design for Dune. And how about this: I have those same lightweight, comfortable, airy, Merrell hikers. Seeing that I just had to subscribe.😀
I thought you were doing a play on words at 3:44 "It's not Foley understood" I definitely enjoy your Adventure/Travel videos
I wasn’t aware there were such dunes near Death Valley. We enjoyed dunes in Namibia though I remember climbing was quite difficult as with each step you slip slightly down.
Its so wild because in comparison to the surrounding mountains the dunes look so small. Theres actually 2 sets of dunes like this around death valley
I love the roaring dunes in Namibia, used to visit a lot
a litte clarification. California had a series in inland seas, the last remaining of the seas is what we nw call mono lake. The trona pinnacles were create from another inland sea.
Kelso Dunes in the Mojave National Preserve has the same sounds. Pretty cool.
Wow that’s amazing!!
Loved it! Did you skip coloring the footage ?
This footage is colored. I chose to make it look this way
Well, this just makes it even better! :D I really love your creativity. thanks for inspiring me.
Your living my dream. Ty for sharing
There is a place in the Kalahari in South Africa called Brulsand, brul means roar. I always heard about it when I was a kid, searched now for it and heard it now on here as well😊
Thats awesome
This video deserves more attention. It was made like a video from someone with hundred of thousands of subscribers but you only have 16k subs. I'll take a look at the rest of your content and if I like that too, count me as one of those subscribers. Edit: *I misread the view count as the subscriber count.* Still, you deserve more subscribers and viewers. Edit 2: Your content looks pretty entertaining, I subbed
I would love to go there!! Great video.
You should!
That’s awesome! I thought you were going to say the sound of a rattlesnake.
Love the content of this video. I was hoping you were going to just lay down with the snowboard that could’ve been epic ended. 🥰🥰🥰
Not allowed to Sand board out here unfortunately
Dune. Drumsand. Dude! Lollollol that just made this Dune fan's entire week!
“Its a cool 90°” yeah ok
Elite content👌
12 x 6 being 72 feels so wrong
It would be cool to have a full hour of just this sound.
It’s probably close to random noise with max 80Hz or so (High cut)
There is a one hour loop video on KZhead of the sound.
@@1lovesoni can u send the link or video title?
@@Moootin it's just titled Singing Sand Dunes (1 Hour) By uploader DevilMayWeep
Thats amazing 😊
I have to wonder exactly why those dunes in particular do that. I live near the Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan, and I’m tempted to try it there.
I read around and they say the dunes should at least be 120ft high
As someone who used to live in California sonewhat near Death Valley I instantly guessed where you were talking about lol
Hi what mics did you use? Amazing stuff.
The DJI MIC for my main audio and the Zoom F1 to capture the sound
@@ExploreWithJevenDovey Thank You - Very cool
Woow...amazing dune.
Shai Hulud is coming!
That's crazy imagine hearin that at night and having no knowledge of this phenomenon 🤯
It’s like you disturbed a creature that dwells deep beneath the blistering heat. It’s roar warning anything near.
I'd recommend buying LOM Geofon seismic pickup. Put it in the ground, and record.
Subscribed to it
You should do this video again with Physics Girl on your side :)
Sounds like fun! Maybe I'll collab with her in the future
I feel like you kept this one from me hahaha
I wanna go there!
Its a cool spot to explore!
Awesome place.
It really is!
“A cool 90 degrees” heck noooo
Something sus is buried
Does this happen in other areas with sand dunes such as the Sahara desert?
I'm surprised you didn't play more of the sound since you did all that work to get there.
There’s not much more to share. It happens quick and then it’s gone
Man I LOVE California. We got almost every climate, and so many amazing amd amazingly harsh locations, from the gorgeous mountains up north, to Sandstone peak, to the valley(of hell) and to the ACTUAL valley of hell, Death Valley. So much fun and awesome stuff here. The lava tubes we have ard fucking nuts, a lil scary, as hell lol. If you get a chance to visit us, please do. You WILL enjoy yourselves, aaas long as you stay out of the bay area. This place, kinda poopy.
Imagine skiing down that and the loud, deep, roars just vibrate all around you, like you were so cool that you just awoke a demon or something
It’s wild!
What if the sound is caused by a static electricity field in the dry sand, somehow propagating a change in field throughout the dune, and causing sand to move?
it sound like a like a light saber moving
I believe it's just the sand rubbing on itself as it goes down
does anyone know the music? in the video?
The reason why is because the friction and sound create sound because of heat
Is that the levitation frequency?
So why are you / why is he wearing a long pants but short shirt? Any reasons for that?
The next time someone tells me to "kick sand", I'll happily agree 👍😊
That'd be me!
My Jeep broke down in the middle of Death Valley.... kzhead.info/sun/iJSfYKqBfGmYl5s/bejne.html
Which microphone do you use?
The DJI Mic for most of my audio and the Zoom F1 to capture the sound
@@ExploreWithJevenDovey thanks
maybe its the whale just stuck
It sounds like OM chanting!
So exciting and weird that sound. I didn’t know about. I would for sure go there if I lived in Ca. Thanks for great videos🤗🤗
Should have brought an old snowboard to descend.
Denis Villeneuve needs to record this sound for his next "Dune" movies...
Remember to walk without rhythm ...You know why.
Bunch of sand in your shoes...
Очень красиво
cool
At first I thought a passing airplane was ruining your shot. Death Valley has rocks that move and dunes that hum. What a unique place. No wonder it's a national park. I will now proceed to be That Guy. Ready? Ahem. Well actually, those are not the tallest dunes in North America. That honor belongs to the Great Sand Dunes, also a national park, in southern Colorado.
Yup found that out after making this video.
What did you use to record this? Please give us more time to fully absorb the sound and get into the peace of it. You made all that effort and you keep talking over it, it's kind of obnoxious. Pause once in a while, man.
Brilliant. Puzzles me why this channel is so low in subs.
Thank You! Hopefully it will grow as I keep adding more content :)
Kewl 😎
Your panting is louder. 😎 Need to get out there more often.
