Ram truck stuck on sand dune, heading into the Inland Sea. Can we prevent disaster ? سيلين , العديد
We received a message that there was a pickup truck in trouble. It was on the side of a very steep soft dune, almost into the sea.
We followed the GPS to a whatsapp location, at Khor Al udeid, the Inland Sea on the border with Saudi Arabia.
When we arrived there was no one there. We called the number that had also been sent to us.
The owners of the truck were just along the coast waiting for a call.
We positioned the cruiser to get a winch rope to the truck.
At first the Land Cruiser was being pulled forwards. We anchored it to another Land Cruiser.
Then the winch stalled, the pull was to heavy.
We rigged a snatch block to the line. This doubles the winch capacity whilst halving the line speed.
The pickup truck then came up.
because of the angle of the dune, when it reached the top, it became high centred on the ridge there.
A second vehicle with a winch came along and we connected both winches to the pickup and pulled it over the ridge.
Anyone else click because they thought it was Sylvester Stallone in the thumbnail.
I did too I thought it was Sylvester stallone😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I am surprised why nobody questioned why this person would decide to drive down an embankment that this vehicle could not possibly dive back up...WHY?
That's the first thing I thought of LOL. Like what were they even thinking.
The driver of that truck definitely isn’t the smartest driver on the roads/beach 🤦🏻♂️
And how exactly did he manage this? At what point did this guy think this was a good idea?
I’m gonna say they probably didn’t see the drop until it’s too late, when you drive in the sand dunes it gets very hard to tell where a hill turns into hard drop-off because horizon can blends in with the peak and hills. Always walk and peek over your crest for drops!
To see how deep it was
😂 wtf was he thinking my lord anyone that thinks they could get back up that bank especially in reverse isn't very bright
I imagine alcohol being envolved
@@seantaylor4533unlikely alcohol is illegal in public. You gotta have a license to buy some to take to your house.
Especially a Ram that weights like a house 😂 something this heavy will always need a tow truck on a sandy hill like that
@@BARDOCK550 Even nose down on loose gravel is bad in a pickup.
@@j.l-w9959 “unlikely alcohol is illegal in public.” lol
Nice rescue! I'd only suggest keeping a blanket over your winch line as matter of safety. Thumbs up to the winch for not over heating.
Its a synthetic rope, no need for a rope weight.
@@kansasoutdoors5667 Can still snap though
@@Nelo390 yes it can snap, but it will just fall to the ground. It dont store energy like a steel cable, thats why you dont need a winch line weight.....
@@kansasoutdoors5667After a bit of research, some synthetic lines stretch significantly less than others, but there's no material with 0 stretch, all ropes store some amount of energy as they get loaded. Significantly more safe than a steel cable though, I agree.
@@aaaaaa-lt2tl far from a myth and theres a ton of videos on the net to proove it.
Dang, that's the craziest sand rescue I've ever seen. Good job guys
Thank you
@DunnMotors That's the craziest rescue you've ever seen? Have you seen two rescue videos in your whole fucking life? Or in reality you're a fucking bot and your program to say stupid shit like this.
It’s pretty amazing that nobody understands how critical it is to drop your tire psi down to 15 in these conditions
10 psi 6 psi for tires with a very stiff sidewall
6, says matt❤
A bulldozer couldn’t climb that slippery slope
Nice! Your a good dude that guy is very fortunate that people like you who are willing to jump in and help out exist cuz he would have been watching his truck sink away!!
Can only imagine that they got surprised by the slope. Possibly in the dark? Beautiful location and nice job on the recovery.
Thank you
I really love how clear the water seems to be, with a very slight greenish tint. We do not see water like this in the Pacific Northwest section of the USA.
@@davidbeckenbaugh9598Pacific Ocean water tends to be a deep blue in general
@@MrOiram46 I agree. In general. I do most of my crab fishing around MT Vernon and the water out of the Skagit leaves the water green. Just an odd one up here.
@@davidbeckenbaugh9598 You got to visit some lakes in Washington we got this type of color in them ... Plus look up Lake Chelan in WA.. it's jaw dropping beautiful.
"Scottie I need more power!" .... "I'm given ya all she's got!"
Cable spped ..
Would be better off not spinning the wheels at all so they can just float on the sand better rather than drag the frame and axle through the sand. Nice work with the winches and community teamwork. Cheers from the USA
Thank you
Привет из Москвы. В очень красивом месте он забуксовал
This is what happens when novices get oversized v8 hemi! Good job rescue team.
probably texting lol
Never expected the winch to do as much, amazing! You are a blessing, great job!
Thank you!
Boy , did that winch get a workout, I really hope that Dodge Driver offered some kind of reward for helping him out. Nicely done recovery, but probably should have had a towel or something on that winch line. Toyota to the rescue, love my 4runner
I,m sorry, but after watching the end of this video and hearing that they received some fish and a coffee, I couldn't believe it. I would hate to think if that dodge driver had called a tow truck , what would that have cost him. What a cheap prick. I know you don't do this to get something back. But at least that guy could have bought a new winch cable or something, crist, even a bottle of scotch.
Why didn’t you use the shovel to clear the edge before pulling this thing over it with full force?
I thought that too, sadly not until afterwards.
@@QatarSandMan haha, ok. It’s different, when you are right in the situation, for sure. But I always use the shovel first thing. Sorry for the couch comment, should not have sounded offending. Have some great holidays!✌️
Would've moved the cruiser 45° to avoid high centering, not needing a second winch and not needing to dig. Easy to say this while sitting comfortably out of the moment though. Good on you for having the resources to get the job done!
You’ve never been to the dunes
Have the Ram owner buy you a new rope. That one is no good now. Good teamwork. Job well done.
The winch motor is probably cooked too!!
Awesome recovery. Its a steep dune and has a sudden fall to it. Municipal authorities have placed markers but inexperienced or unaware drivers just keep going straight ahead. This was the Qatari side, across the channel, you can see the Saudi side too. A beautiful sunrise spot for sure 😊
dont overlook the tactic of letting air out of the stuck vehicle tires. Kudos to the pickup driver - he didnt bury it up to the axles when getting stuck. Also note the winching vehicle is well back from the slope before they start. well done. just stay back from the winch line under tension please.
The video seems to be bogus. Where is the disturbance in the sand where the truck drove over the edge? The sand is nice and smooth at that point just like the rest of the edge. If the truck had gone over the edge there would have been a flat, scraped off area where the under carriage drug the sand. Where are the tire tracks going down to the truck? No tire tracks either. And lastly...at that radical slope, gravity would most likely have pulled the truck down hill into the water.
@@bradoutboard8885it’s windy, can’t you hear the wind? It blows the sand smooth again pretty quickly.
@@bradoutboard8885 y comollego alli cres que lo puso una grua no entiendo
good job guys wish I could have been there to help, gets a bit dreary here in Ohio USA this time of year, I could use some sun and sand
Fr i live in Kentucky feel ya lol
You could visit the sand dunes in Indiana or Pismo Beach or Glamis both in California.
That recovery guy really knows what he is doing.
give your winch a break now and then it was probably glowing! good job!
That took a lot of skill and experience for sure.
Great job guys! But if you pulled it at a 30 degree angle when at the top it would have pulled easier
Nice work! I wouldn’t have thought those angles would’ve worked out.
I remember being at a party where one of the guests got stuck in the mud. All the men who owned pickup truck were practically fighting each other for the chance to be the one to hook up to the stuck vehicle. It surprises me that professional recovery companies actually make money when so many people want to do it for free.
It's the same here, until it looks a bit difficult. Then they stand back. Once they see you have it in hand, all of a sudden, everyone is in charge.
@@QatarSandManheh heh, ain’t that the truth brothuh! 😂 good job! He was damn lucky you helped him! ✌️
Wow, Qatar looks amazing
I don't know how I landed on this video or even why I watched it all the way through? Curiosity got me when I saw the angle of that descent past the ridge and was thinking it was impossible with that one truck and a winch. This was seriously impressive and I was genuinely nervous toward the end wishing for success (but still nervous). Very cool what you guys do. Nice work.
Thank you
That winch was impressive. Damn.
It never seises to amaze me that people are so stupid… I’m mean what and the hell were they thinking?!
They were trying to get a closer look
Nothing
Have any of you actually driven in the dunes. This can happen very easily. Look at the angle rescue truck is sitting, driver would be looking at mostly sky. Not to mention at a certain time of day the sun kind of blends the dunes together. Amber sunglasses or goggles helps alot .... I'm fortunate enough to have an off road machine and live close to dunes and I see stuff like this all the time
you obviously have never been in the dunes. im sure the truck didnt realize that was the last drop to the ocean
This is the coolest video I've seen yet in my 20 years on KZhead
Thank you
Surprised it worked, you’re a good man.
beautiful country! beautiful Toyota's! that truck looks like its ten hours old, along with the friends of the driver.
They should have let the tyres down a bit on the bakkie.
How ever owns this truck is very lucky. And ti have a snatch block as well. Very lucky.
Can't help but think a pair of maxxtrax under the ram would've helped here, at least to pop it out of where it was stuck. Maybe I'm under thinking it...
Great work! Triple winching might also be worth considering in such a situation.
I love all these comments from guys suggesting how you could have done a better job! You were the guys on the spot. You did a great job. By the way, where are the Land Rovers?
Thank you. There's a few current model Land Rovers around. They're very expensive here. They don't get involved in recoveries for some reason. I'm not sure the unibody construction would be up to it. There's a few series 3's they're treated as collectables, very rarely see them about. I used to have three series 3's when I lived in the UK, wish I still had them.
All in the shop
How did this even happen- I know that they weren't going full speed because they would've veen in the sea. Or maybe they wanted to experiment or something, My final theory is that they are going around a speed where they were too late when they realized the cliff and ended up like that but idk.
No tire tracks to the edge at all in the start. Or at the start if the down hill. It was like they launched and landed on one spot before the water but no idea how not slid into it. There was no sand piled in the front down hill side of the tires either like it heald it in place. Very strange.
The Qatar Sand Man does it again 👏👏👏
Great video. The guy knew what he was doing. Not a lot of people know that…
Awesome, never seen anything like that. Driver , from now on, look where you are going!
I think it is really cool that our cousins over seas do the same fun stuff we do here in the US.
Absolutely Beautiful Place. Great Channel.Cheers From Eugene, oregon.

It looks like a beautiful day. The colors of the water really pop with the sand color. Dodge Ram truck. You would never see this with a camel, even if the rider was drunk.

They really are great vehicles, my familys owned landcruisers for many many years here in australia. They are workhorses that with a little (oil filter and care) last generations. I wasnt a big fan until i had been through a few Fords, GMs and other euro trash, Now id never buy anything else. Toyota or lexus for me.
Good job, everyone. That's a heck of a pull up
Haha!! A Ram had to get saved by Yotas! You know it's going home with it's tail between it's legs!!
Good work boys, I think digging the top of the peak down could have helped thst problem at the end?
A new Dodge being rescued by an old Toyota, nothing to see here! Ken from Qatar believed in me and lent me my first $5k to pursue the automotive industry at 21 years old. Nothing but love and respect.
Just another childish response about a new Ram pickup, MY TOYOTA'S BETTER))))) MY CHEVY TRUCKS BETTER)))))) MY FORD TRUCKS BETTER)))))) MY DODGE TRUCKS BETTER))))) MY MY MY MY MY MY MY MY MY))) THERE AIN'T NO STOCK! @@craigkerr9281 and another disgruntled patron off their meds interjecting themselves into what they can’t comprehend. Ultimately it is a new Dodge being pulled out be an old Toyota. Not saying it’s the truck, when it’s all driver error. Seems your just another butt hurt harasser that needs to keep his mental incompetence to himself. What vehicle will try to make it on its own? Takes a dud to put it there in the first place. Own a Dodge that is NOT Daimler but rather Fiat or should I say Stellanis. Next time I suggest you read the comment before jumping off to your own conclusions. Mental anguish is treated with big pharma. I think Ivermectin is having its toll on you. Reread did it was a statement but you made it so much more. How about if it was an old Toyota being rescued by a new Dodge, nothing to see here. See how that works! Cap-locked the entire comment? can winches overheat? after you pulled it 1/4 way up with so much struggle I was worrying about maybe letting it cool down
Yes, they do overheat. I think some advanced Warn winches have a setting that will shut them down when they get too hot, though you can override that with a setting. I think this winch has a continuous duty cycle of around 2 minutes. However, I just run it till it's too hot to touch. We have air temperatures of 50°C here in the summer, so it's pretty difficult not to exceed the equipment ratings. Basically, a winch is a consumable, I go through a winch every couple of years.
Well done lads!
Not sure how I got here but good work!
Thank you
this seems to be like an impossible recovery gr8 job
you did phenomenal!

Неплохо!Но трактором было бы быстрее😊
Very surprised bumper didn't rip off
There is a hole through the bumper that gives access to a tow point, directly through a chassis member, which sits inside the bumper. There was no load on the bumper.

They should have dug out a ramp at the top!
why ? thats all i want to know is why anyone would go down that sand bank why ?
Toyotas to the rescue, as always. It seemed that the Ram(if it was) didn't even have a LSD or diff lock on the rear as only one rear wheel was spinning when he applied power near the top.
Bloody good job. I personally would have let the winch cool down every so often, being under such a load. Other than that though, good stuff!
Thank you

It's definitely a Darwin award candidate!
Did he let the air out of the tires? That would help.

Beautiful area. Sand to play in and clear water to swim . Just not in the truck
Awesome #CommunityOutreach!
GOOD JOB ❤❤
I'm all about cars and trucks, off-roading, racing, etc - but for the LIFE OF ME WHAT THE heck was this person trying to accomplish?????!!!!! There's NO where to go, I'm just at a loss for words, there's ZERO possible routes, no crossings, no connecting roads, the only possible outcome for anyone with a brain is going straight down and getting stuck!......... congrats, mission accomplished!
Maybe don't drive down there 🤔
I'm surprised the owner didn't just abandon it and buy a new truck.
Figures the same brain that purchased a Ram, gets it stuck like this, lol…
Kinda crazy there is not tire marks behind the truck......either its been stuck so long the wind cleared off the ruts or the sand was so soft it close in behind it
I think he should been in the truck for 2 reasons have in 4low to assist the winch and if that winch rope broke or anything and the truck wouldn't end up in the water
Yea, a few concerns with safety in how they did, but it worked. I want to know how/why he got there in the first place?
Good job 👍
I'm guessing it happened at night?
