  • I would say 90 percent of increasing your vert is jumping as much as possible and keeping good healthy knees and springing tendons.

    • @@theycallmeMrBossMode The Peak Strength App is cheaper for first few months and it will adapt to you as you progress thru the program. I believe it will be a more convenient option. Also more customizable based on what you have available to you.

  • I was 13 when I still couldn't reach our ceiling. I used DIY leg weights for a week and surprisingly I reached the ceiling, added 2inches vert. jump. Unfortunately, I did not continue as I focused more on shooting🏀 rather than athleticism, and the leg weights did not last for weeks as it is just diy.

    • You're better off doing plyometrics and agility cone drills for lateral mobility. For strength add in hip flexor and extendor exercises, lateral lunges etc. That's personally what I work on for lateral mobility and strength.

      @charondesousa8868@charondesousa886811 ай бұрын
    • @Kamal Sharma I wouldn't say you ever need to train lateral or any specific direction besides up and to the sides...only thing you would need lateral for is skiing and I highly doubt he's skiing 🤣

  • Not only that, but most basketball players have small calves due to having a long tendon insertion. That allows them to run faster and jump higher

    @Review_Rad@Review_Rad9 ай бұрын
    • Not really. A long tendon can be beneficial in a way but a shorter tendon also has a lot of advantages too. Having a shorter tendon means more stiffness so you are naturally more explosive like Tyreek Hill for example.

  • Ngl vince carter (the guy you used to demonstrate a high vertical jump) probably never trained weightlifting in his life. He jumped so damn high because he spent his whole childhood playing basketball and getting high quality elastic ground contacts in a developmental period of his life. Don’t get me wrong oly lifts are great for improving general explosiveness, but they won’t increase your full approach jumping ability like you would need to dunk a basketball. You need to train full approach jumping and more elastic high velocity exercises like bounding, sprinting and full approach jumping to legitimately increase your vertical jump.
