coach i have something to ask u. what first power clean or back squats
@@hikosantillan2086 power clean sets then back squat
@@GarageStrength ty coach
The loops are getting really good lately not gonna lie
Yea he really nailed it with that jump
I would say 90 percent of increasing your vert is jumping as much as possible and keeping good healthy knees and springing tendons.
“They have good technique” come on now 😂
i mean its true, they might not know it themselves but good technique definitely is a huge factor
I’m looking for a basketball lifting program. That focuses on strength, vertical, and mobility.
Check out our Peak Strength App. We have basketball specific training in there which targets all of those www.peakstrength.app/
@@GarageStrength great stuff cheers
@@GarageStrength I was thinking about buying the older basketball strength program. Do you still recommend that?
@@theycallmeMrBossMode The Peak Strength App is cheaper for first few months and it will adapt to you as you progress thru the program. I believe it will be a more convenient option. Also more customizable based on what you have available to you.
Compound movements
The coach is going hard on his nutrition look leaner lately ..
If someone saw me jump with a trap bar idk if they would applaud me or run in fear
And most importantly, they JUMP ALOT.
Dam i remember being young and wanting to increase vert
Dane are you dropping fat percentages between every video? Damn dude what’s your Total Daily Intake??
I was 13 when I still couldn't reach our ceiling. I used DIY leg weights for a week and surprisingly I reached the ceiling, added 2inches vert. jump. Unfortunately, I did not continue as I focused more on shooting🏀 rather than athleticism, and the leg weights did not last for weeks as it is just diy.
What are some good workouts to improve lateral mobility and strength?
Power clean, squat and trap bar deadlift id say
@@carpetgymolylifting how can they target lateral mobility?
A lateral lunge lol it’s that simple
You're better off doing plyometrics and agility cone drills for lateral mobility. For strength add in hip flexor and extendor exercises, lateral lunges etc. That's personally what I work on for lateral mobility and strength.
@Kamal Sharma I wouldn't say you ever need to train lateral or any specific direction besides up and to the sides...only thing you would need lateral for is skiing and I highly doubt he's skiing 🤣
But you can't swing your arms while dunking
He says that then proceeds to jump one foot in the air 💀
Arm swings!? That boy jus' think he a bird, he got dat bird brain making him light like a bird.
thank you
They hit the genetic lottery
Not only that, but most basketball players have small calves due to having a long tendon insertion. That allows them to run faster and jump higher
Not really. A long tendon can be beneficial in a way but a shorter tendon also has a lot of advantages too. Having a shorter tendon means more stiffness so you are naturally more explosive like Tyreek Hill for example.
Ngl vince carter (the guy you used to demonstrate a high vertical jump) probably never trained weightlifting in his life. He jumped so damn high because he spent his whole childhood playing basketball and getting high quality elastic ground contacts in a developmental period of his life. Don’t get me wrong oly lifts are great for improving general explosiveness, but they won’t increase your full approach jumping ability like you would need to dunk a basketball. You need to train full approach jumping and more elastic high velocity exercises like bounding, sprinting and full approach jumping to legitimately increase your vertical jump.
they don’t do all that 😂 craziest cap I’ve seen today
Does quarter squats increase speed?
yes
but really heavy though
It’s more fast twitch muscle fiber requirement, not strength gains
The perfect loop doesn’t exi-
In your opinion whats the best barbell exercise to increase your vertical and how many times a week should i do it.
Barbell squat is king
I’d jump high as shit too if I was 6’8
Nfl dudes be 5’10 with 40 inch verts you’ll be fine
Genetics
U need to train
❤❤❤
They have good genetics.... lol this stuff definitely helps though to jump higher not saying it doesn't but the main reason elite athletes jump so high is indeed good athletic genetics
most of them if not almost all of them don’t do half of this stuff
Yah i bet you they do none of these things 😅. Except jumping technique
It is genetics. Not technique.
You don't show one jumping athlete doing any squats / front squats etc lol
You know damn well Vince Carter didn’t do any of that shit
Why does glasses guy squat with his legs wrapped like a mummy?
Weird way to pronounce genetics
점프잘하기
How do elite athletes get to be 6’5?? Easy they go to the gym everyday and work on there squats 🤣🤣🤣 simple
BBC genetics lol
You’re not even jumping high sp why would i take your tips
because he trains people that jump high...
⚽️
..genetics
They don’t look like you lol
man is not natty
