A parole officer (Jordan Peele) trying to connect with one of the convicts under his charge uses an unconventional technique: a puppet named "Little Homie."

  • This may seem like a funny, lighthearted sketch but if you think about it, it's really messed up. There's this ex-con who's genuinely trying to turn over a new leaf and the parole officer who has decided to fail him no matter what. He's setting the guy up for failure. If he smokes the weed, he gets thrown back into prison and if he plays along with Lil Hommie, he gets thrown back into prison. There's literally no way for him out of this and you can tell that this is the police officer's intention when you see the guards coming in towards the end, ready to take him away. They seemed a little too sure that the man would fail the parole hearing. Furthermore, after watching the whole clip and looking back at it in hindsight, it's scary to think what the officer meant when he said he "found this method quite effective with the juveniles". Was he tricking juveniles into becoming career criminals like this too?
