I got an echo dot for Christmas, previously i wasn't too fussed and didn't bother looking into them but great video, pretty convenient and useful features.
We use our device as an alarm clock and then you can also ask it to play any song you like to wake up to. I also use as a timer when cooking. I ask it the weather every day. I also ask it to spell something for me or trivia questions. It will also do math questions. You have to be careful because sometimes it will pick up on conversations when not prompted!
Love using it for measurement conversions between imperial units and metric.

My friends and I have played Escape room, it's kind of annoying cause there arent many options and Alexa keeps declining any moves we try to make. But it's good to get you to think outside of the box and challenge yourself
Number 10 should really say control any lights or plugs etc if you have the relevant pieces of kit. I use Hive and the level of control via my Echo devices is fantastic. What about Alexa commands such as Announce and Drop In?

This is really weird.... In my Amazon Alexa setup at home.... I have had more than 100 "Routines" ---- which is Amazon's name for little programs that run based on events happening. For example, one routine might be triggered by a motion sensor. Then the routine causes all the lamps on that floor to turn on, etc, etc. Well..... Here's the weird thing..... I have deleted several such routines because I decided that I don't want them to do that any more..... Yet those routines are still doing what they were programmed to do. Even though they've been deleted! Apparently, they exist in Amazon's cloud.... and their software is so buggy that deleting a routine doesn't always delete that routine. 😣

I know of one thing you definitely can't do with Alexa that comes with the Toshiba Fire Tv and that is to control Samart Home Devices even though it's advertise as being able to do so by Toshiba and Bestbuy even Amazon kept saying it would but after a week of emails back and forth they eventually admitted that it can't be done

It depends on what search engine you prefer. Echo uses Bing and Google uses Google. As far as functionality goes, they are basically the same thing. You can voice order from Amazon with Echo and Walmart with Google. I have both and find that when I ask basic things like news, alarms, routines, or timers they work similar. For search results, I do prefer my Google as it has answers more often than Echo.
Nice of you to not actually say "Alexa" each time... I bet there are still some people that haven't found out voice-activation works EVERY-TIME someone or anyone says alexa :D
What happens if I have one echo device paired with 2 fire sticks connected to 2 tvs in different rooms and i ask it to play a film or something on Prime? Does it play on both tvs if they are switched on? (as it would be a nuisance if someone else is using the other tv).
