Interesting coincidence that this was released just a few days after the verdict against Halicki came out. No more licensing fees. Builders (both hobbiests and professionals) are now free to express themselves through building Mustangs however they'd like-even if the build looks like an Eleanor. Definitely a win for car enthusiasts world round (and especially the Carol Shelby Trust, who just beat Halicki in court).
Coincidence in the timing of our video but that’s really cool to hear!
@@AutotopiaLA I thought the reason this video was released was due to the verdict.. Anywho, the lady should give B is for Build their Eleanor back!
@@ssenssel hell yeah
@@ssenssel Absolutely! I wonder if he can sue them?
@@AutotopiaLA (Also, thank you for all the great content. Absolutely love the channel.)
When I saw this movie for the 1st time it was the only time I've ever cared about A GT 500 .Their design made the GT 500 iconic in a way that it was not before I know it's not the original movie But it changed the car world forever It gave us our 1st resto mod hero car
I totally agree. I love the stock GT500 but Eleanor…cmon!
When this car came out I was Blown away at the look and stance of the car… no matter what if ppl like the car or not, it’s still a BADASS CAR!!!!!
What a coincidence. It’s just recently declared that the “Eleanor Mustang” is no longer copyrighted. Just google the news article.
Just saw the article after some of the comments here. Talk about timing and now part of our video is inaccurate lol
Just in time to celebrate Shelby Trusts' victory in court over whats-her-name
So cool they won!
This is a badass ride! I love how it is the original Eleanor from the actual the movie Gone in 60 seconds!! Always been a favorite movie of mine. This is awesome to see the real car in action!! Great job to everybody that worked on and help build this absolutely beautiful ride!!
I know the guy who has one of the original three that’s still in circulation!
I respect it! Better to be able to show it, and honor a small request on an iconic car, than not be able to see it at all! Thanks Sean! 🤙
Thanks for understanding and truly an honor getting to shoot and especially drive this one!
One of the finest Mustangs. The video is really good, lots of details to get the viewer excited. P.S. It's good to see you happy. You have recovered well from the crash.
Been a year Dec 18 since the crash. Still some work needed on my back but thank you! Awesome getting to shoot this legend!!
He's made his money, and is going to make a lot more. He's got the original. Not showing the engine LAME! He's obviously not a gear head, just another one making money. That's what's important to him.
The company owner (much cooler than you’ll ever know) made a request and we honored it
I got to drive this crazy beast a few years ago while I was asleep
❤ I Love This Car. I've seen Gone in 60 Seconds like 50 Million times!!! I never get tired of seeing it!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i grew up with Vintage Mustangs. My dad was a Great mechanic. He had a love for Vintage Mustangs. He had 6 of them. One was a 64 1/2 Convertible, he traded a 10 speed bike (bicycle) for! Though it was only the shell. But still. He never had any Fastbacks, only Coupes. I get to drive one of them for 2 years. I Loved it. ❤ RIP Dad, i sure miss and love you..... 😢 ❤❤❤
Pretty Happy the Eleonor is now free of Copyright and Halicki's copyright claims have been invalidated. Good stuff
Beautiful Shawn - Cool you got to showcase it! Love it
Was looking forward to this for a while
You do such a great job on your channel. Great balance between talking and driving. And I LOVE the driving when you're in a throaty car.
Thank you. My team makes it happen and I love my crew!
What a beautiful car......and what a dream it must have been to drive that car......very special indeed!
Definitely a cool experience driving this one. Beyond words
One of my dream cars‼️🤾♂️
Same here
Shawn, the Eleanor movie cars were not actually 427 cars. They all had very basic 351 Windsor engines. They probably had more like 300 HP. My guess is that viewers would be very disappointed with an under hood reveal. It most likely is very plain and unrestored as there was no reason for the studio to fancy up an engine compartment that would never be seen.
#FACTS ☝
Not true I personally put 427s in 4 of the cars plus chromed them out.
Years ago I work at Don Kott Ford and were a motorsports distributor back then. We sold parts to the studio for this movie. Also they were pretty much stock. Fun Fact, the car with Nicolas Cage was a automatic , because he couldn't drive a stick. And yes these cars were not all tricked out, mabe visuals for the movie.
Love your channel! I am always blown away by each vehicle in which you show case. A lot of work, time and money spent by very die hard people.
Heck ya! I was hoping you would show this! Especially now that the "Eleanor" fiasco is over!
Interesting timing on our video given that the ruling just happened! So glad we got to shoot this and I got to drive it!
@@AutotopiaLA Definitely! I thought you did it on purpose. I hope now that this thing is over, it'll give the car new popularity. Great video as always! I saw one of the hero cars in person twenty one years ago at the Petersen and got to see the '74 movie car coming in off the flatbed in the parking garage as we were leaving. I'll never forget that day. To hope to see my dream car Eleanor and then it being there and seeing the one and only '73 Mustang too.
Beautiful car. I want one
I do too
Killer car. Crazy influential on alot of people My uncle is a chevrolet guy through and through, but has a HUGE soft spot for eleanors. Great video as always!
Massive influence. Curious to see how things change with the Eleanor/Shelby/Halicki ruling that just happened…
*a lot. It's two words, not one.
Amazing car, great coverage and SO HAPPY the verdict on licensing came out in all of our favors!
Love that the game just changed and the license is gone!
Real Car guys can respect this interview to the fullest and all the business talk..Great Review!!!
This car and movie are my all time favs. Thank you so much for showing us, it is a real treat to see the "real" one up close. As far as the engine goes a 351 is plenty of power for this type of car. Had one in a 69 Mustang convertible when I was 16 and it was killer. Again thank you AWESOME car !!!!
No it should have a 427# baby
Perfection.
I really appreciate this guys. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a badass ride! I love how it is the original Eleanor from the movie!
Thanks. I appreciate the fact that you respect the car owners wishes. I enjoy your videos. Merry Christmas
Always have to respect the owners and builders. Merry Christmas to you as well 👊
Love ya work Brother. Thanks for sharing 👍. Dude the tunes man , who is that at the end , some tuff groove buddy ..
Doooooode!!! This is the car that took me from mild car fan to obsessed with Mustangs!!! This is so awesome!!!

$2 million is a lot when considering how nice the replicas and kit cars are. You would never know the difference.
The value is based on knowing and backing it up with paperwork. You’d never know a real GT40 from a replica either but I’ve sat in the Ken Miles GT40 and it’s mind boggling when you consider what it is
Sign me up for a replica, movie cars are typically crap built wall flowers. They didn't show under the hood cause there isn't anything different than your typical 56 year old engine bay.
Love that car!
👏Shawn Davis I congratulate you on having the storage space that this is filmed in. Great work in investing in property and allows you to show cars that come into your property. 👍keep up the great work. 😎dude.
Definitely an iconic car. I respect on where you stand. Like they say if you don't stand for something you will fall for anything. Respect!
I definitely enjoyed this! I watched gone in 60 seconds in theatre when it first came out! I watch the movie at least 3 times a year. Beautiful car and thanks for sharing! R.I.P. K.B.
Another great video, keep up the great work!
Thank you!
@@AutotopiaLA absolutely! Chrome Cars are one of my favorites because of the General Lee of theirs you covered in a past episode👍
Shawn, I didn't even KNOW about the original Gone in 60 Seconds movie until a few months ago - it's become my favourite car movie of all time, without a doubt! The action is so real and the speed is at an unbelievable pace throughout the closing car chase. Is there any chance you could do a feature on the original Eleanor car? I'm sure that it lives out your way somewhere. Al l the very best from Scotland - have a wonderful New Year!
I still need to see the original movie. Can’t believe I haven’t seen it and I have no idea where that original car is. Would be great to find it and shoot it!
@@AutotopiaLA If you buy the dvd, there are great extra features including interviews with Mrs Halicki and film of her getting thrown around in the passenger seat of the original Eleanor by some old school racer! The car remains in it's original bashed up state from the movie!
@@AutotopiaLA H.B. Halicki used a 73 Mustang sportsroof...Same fast back body style like the Mach 1.
This car is the holy grail of Mustangs and the most praised in all of history. I love Elonor. Great video guys, thanks 🤟🏻😬🙌🏻
I agree. Such an icon!
Outstanding bad ass car. If Chip Foose was impressed. Whoa. I'd like to see more of these.😍😎😎♥🔥🔥
I have ridden in THIS car! And let me tell you ... It's incredible. More incredible than you can even imagine
This should have way more views!!!!!
That’s what I thought!
One of the only cars I really want!
I love this car and movie (including the original Gone in 60 seconds). Unfortunately I could only afford the model car version. 😁
Me also. I have 2 die cast models of it and that's as close as I'll ever get to it.
As much as we all love and adore this car with all the mods and upgrades this car has, my ultimate dream car would be a late 60's Camaro but with these same or at least most of the upgrades this car has.
Hes got a few on here, my favorite is the green one on bags.
I love it. But I’ll take BULLITT. and yes that’s the way it’s spelled.
Frank Bullitt
That’s cool. I’d still take this but gotta love Bullitt too
I'm 67 and watched bullitt being filmed in San Francisco as a kid
The original movie was badass. So raw and chock ful of cars and real stunts.
With a Doubt the most Iconic Mustang on the planet. But I would have to say the most iconic and most replicated car would be the Smokey and the Bandit 77 Trans Am.
Love this car but to me , the most iconic car , is the Ford Falcon interceptor from 1979 Mad Max movie !
Would love to see it and ride in the car legend .. awesome show keep them coming bro .
More coming I promise. Stoked I got to drive this legend!!
My favourite movie mustang with the NFS mustang and KITT from 2008
One of my fav picture cars too
Oh my god I can’t believe he let u drive that car! That’s bucket list shit right there bud 👍
So cool! Not much driving but I got to drive it!
When nick cage spins the Eleanor around after he boosts it in garage, god it’s fucking on, speakers up! Send the bald eagles!!!! 🤣
Such a killer vibe to that car ! Awesome for seeing it here, I mean that is the machine Nic Cage was using for that iconic Re-make right. That there is one huge celebrity !!
Absolutely gorgeous The Real Deal Sweet love the movie and of course the CAR NEVER GETS TIRERING
Absolutely 💯 love this Show an amazing Car ALOT OF turbulence going around about ELENORE you guys are Handling it All well and good the others not QUITE as much so I ALWAYS watch Shawn he's great at his job keep on keeping on guy's
Incredible
I will agree that the stunts were amazing but they can't compare to the original Gone In 60 Seconds, Halicki Beat the Hell out of that Mustang and it still ran, and as far as I know you can still drive it. No Fancy CGI Tricks in the Original.
Personally I love the remake
@@AutotopiaLA Even though I really liked the original with its real stunt work, the 2000 version is definitely a rare remake that I enjoyed just as much, maybe even more!
The real deal looks mighty fine … awesome thanks for sharing dude 😎🇺🇸✌🏽
I’ve loved this car since I saw the movie when I was little. That far will never get old.
Awesome 👍🏽👍🏻🤙🏼 yeah I saw it when it was at Chip Foose places telling how many where made but this one is one of three cool 😎😎 , and say hi to Jay for me please 😀👍🏽🤙🏼 he's awesome ! Thanks for sharing, it's our enjoyment to watch 😀👍🏻
That’s cool and next time I see Jay I’ll tell him hello. Typically we just see him driving by my shop and give him a wave 👋
@@AutotopiaLA cool 🤣👍🏽
When it Raines, it pours.
Lol!
That is one of the most iconic Mustangs ever made
This has been my dream car, even before the movie was ever thought of.
Its good to know that eleanor isnt copyrighted anymore It shouldnt have ever been copyrighted you cant copyright a name or utilitarian item
It’s pretty cool it finally ruled in that direction
Beautiful 👍👍
F that trademark BS
It’s all over with now. Ruling just came down on that and Shelby won!!
es una hermosura esta de lujo me encanta ese mustang lonora
It's a very nice car!👍❤️😎💥
Thank you for showcasing this Shawn. Although my all time favourite is the '67-8 GT390, Eleanor is very special too - a great mix of old and modern without fucking it up. Also a special shoutout to the individual that ruined it and the replicas for years 🖕
Thanks and I agree!!
Um dos mais belos carro do mundo eleonor a lenda no Brasil temos maveric a lenda dos v8.
2 million dollar 💰 Eleanor sounds Op....... Freakin cool buddy..... Crazy Eleanor
Oh My Gawd!!! 😍😍😍
Very cool!!!! 👍👍
Stoked I got to drive it for a bit!
@@AutotopiaLA 👍
A truly beutiful car. And a great story. Thanks again for another great video.
B is for build doesn’t pay BS licensing fees but they do make sure the cars they drive on city streets have functioning brakes
And we don’t? We’ve shot 100’s of videos and we have 1 brake failure (I was the passenger) and that’s what you got? 🤦♂️
Yes! I remember seeing the trailer for this movie and I was so excited. I loved the movie. Whether or not people like this car or hate it, is Car helped Carol she’ll be back into the household name. Carol Shelby at the time and early 2000 after the movie joined with unique performance in taxes to build replicas of the movie cars. They make quite a few of them before the owners of Younique performance got in trouble for money embezzlement. That end of the relationship with any Performance and Shelby, then the widow of the original movie maker Went to court and won against Carroll for licensing rights. That also ended the relationship between the GT500 and the Eleanor cars, hence why another car company built continuation gone in 60 seconds replicas under the widow Denise because of her licensing Patton. Up until a few weeks ago, now the licensing hold on the yellow name is gone and free to anyone to use. I still love this car even though it’s been replicated so many times and buy purist, hated. Like it or not though, this car did help bring Carroll Shelby back into a household name and I will forever love this car. Great video and I enjoy watching them. Keep up the great work with your videos.
Wow. It cool, I totally understand it. I'm not pissed at all. I respect the owner of the car !
351 stroked to a 427, na give me the 427 block as Carroll requested!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really wish you would leave the prices out of these. Let's make it about the cars
It’s always about the cars and sometimes we also add in $$ when it’s relevant. If you’ve watched, most of our video leave $$ out
its a shame a karen owns the rights to Eleanor
Game over on that one now
Haliki just lost that battle
Yes she did!! Took long enough but here we are
Sweet
How much I 'love' this Eleanor , for me it's still not more than a classic fastback but beautiful (!) restyled ... And I really like it . On the other hand , the Bullit car is still a Real moviestar and that chase was even better . The effects with the Eleanor on the bridge(the flying part) are a bit cheap ... But thanks for this video , I love the see this car again.
I never expected to see that car show up on youtube. Talk about beyond special. I've seen some other favourite movie cars on youtube and under the hood many were definitely disappointing. Still was interesting to find out how they were built.
Picture cars are a different breed but this one is actually well built (still has plenty of flaws) and it was simply awesome getting to drive it for a few minutes
@@AutotopiaLA What most interested me was how the engine actually sounds and discovering that the nitrous button is on the shift knob, For some reason I never noticed that in the movie.
@@beinghappy1312 that’s the famous “Go Baby Go” button!
@@AutotopiaLA Yeah, it's a sweet button. I just think it looks better somewhere other than the shift knob
It must be since you filmed but, apparently all the royalty thing has now run out or not renewed. ✌️
Crazy the timing of releasing this video and the ruling against Halicki
Do some more trucks/off-road trucks those are fun to watch!
Dig into the channel. We’ve shot quite a few off road trucks and street trucks
Man I love that car
If someone told me that I can have whatever car I want… but the catch is you have to drive it for the rest of your life. This would be the one for me.
Cool car. Glad I got to see it in londons fuelfest. Chris is cool
Chris and Chrome Cars are the best!
LYN274 aka Eleanor is one of my favourite American cars and the Hemi Cuda along with a Chevelle 454 might as well include a Dodge Challenger not forgetting a Plymouth Superbird.
I love Eleanor and she loves me!
Nice ride. Ur buddy is kinda twitchy. Stay safe out there.
I've got a client that punishes his "Eleanor" daily! He has no use, whatsoever, for 5th gear!😂😂😂😂 Monthly maintenance keeps her rippin!
It's nice to see the O.G. Eleanor. It's akin to seeing the Mona Lisa and not a picture of the Mona Lisa
I saw the 2000 movie on the opening night in theaters… I can neither confirm, nor deny that I tried what they were doing in the theater parking lot after the movie 😬🤫🤐
