Sony DSC-HX60 in 2021 - Can your smartphone do this?

I bought this used but like new HX60 for $90. It easily beats the cameras of most smartphones and its size allows you to take it everywhere with you. Please check the video for test Optical + Clear Image zoom and images. I've also provided an overview of most of its features. You get HDR, auto ISO NR, effective 20MP, 1080p video, massive zoom, compact body... for under $100.

  • Recieved this camera today with case and everything in new condition for 50 euro, I wasnt sure at first but having now used it a little today, it is just an awesome camera. Im well happy with it for that price, after looking on amazon and for 50 euro there are only kiddy type ones really. Just trying to figure out all of the options now and bits

  • Great video , thx . just bought one , awesome little companion for everyday memory. The lens opening is fragile . i always be careful of compression or weight on it, carefully packed in the bag , the wifi is basic and slow but it works, Overall i have many cybershot and sony Alpha , this HX 60 is a great everyday camera ,

    • It does well in low light situations? With a such small sensor + that many MP i amb concerned on how the night photos are... I want to take night sky and night sky + landscape photos. Will they look good and sharp?

    • Hello Annie, Could you please let me know whether the issue persists when you take photos outside, during the day, in the intelligent auto mode? What are your current image quality settings? Do you get blurry images only in darker environments, or regardless of the lightning conditions?

    • Hi. Yes, you can remotely operate your camera from a smartphone (remote shooting).

    • @@1kdiy Thanks for the response. I noticed on your video that when you showed the Sony imaging Edge app, I couldn't see a mode selection so that you can switch between controlling the camera and the video functions. Have you used imaging Edge to control the video functions? Sorry to bother you with this but I'm seriously considering getting one after watching your video but there's no point if it doesn't have this function. Thanks again. I've subscribed!

    • Hi. Unfortunately, the video functions cannot be controlled via the app. The camera does not even allow the video to be manually started by pressing the video button on the camera and throws a warning message if you attempt to record a video. It works great for pictures though. There is little delay/lag and a lot of useful options. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if your use case requires remote video control. By the way, what were you planning to use it for?

    • @@1kdiy Thanks so much for getting back to me about it. It looks a great camera but it's no use to me if it doesn't do that. I have a Sony hx350 but it's just broke and it's to expensive to fix it. I'll keep searching. Thanks again. All the best, Richard.

    • Hi again, I forgot to mention I use it to record my gigs. The remote control allows me to stop and start the recording and also see what I am recording. I use a different device to record the audio and match it up later on premier Pro. You can see some examples in my channel, it's not the greatest video quality but I really enjoy the process.

    • Yes just get a usb and connect the camera to the Device you are using obs on (e.g. laptop)

    • Hey, eBay is best for original accessories, but you'll most likely need to wait until someone lists what you are looking for. If you don't mind a good quality replica, you can get one from the big Chinese websites, such as AE.
