  • Joey Votto is amazing. He plays the villain so damn well with opposing fans.

    @mikeroberts7755@mikeroberts77559 ай бұрын
    • Plays the vIllain? He’s a phoney douche. Obviously baseball isn’t as big as hockey, NBA, and I’d even say that the NFL is probably more popular among youth in Canada, today. But: “As far as Toronto, and Canadian baseball, and the country of Canada, and [James Paxton] being Canadian, I don't care at all," said Votto. "[Paxton], or the Jays, or Canada, in general, may disagree with that, but I really couldn't give a rat's ass about that." Canadian baseball fans LOVE baseball, and are ‘proud’ of their Canadian born players. There aren’t very many Canadian born players that are as good as Votto, so for him to say this shit would be like Pedro Martinez talked shit about the Dominican, or if Ohtani disavowed Japan. As much as what he said sucks to hear as a Canadian fan of the ENTIRE sport of baseball (not just Toronto), I hate phoniness even more. What he said was very clear, with nothing to be misconstrued, which like I said, sucks to hear. What pissed me off the most was that he didn’t stick to what he said, and was vain enough to care about his reputation being damaged over staying true to his word. So to see some bogus apology put out after being so clear is just annoying. Fuck Votto….His career is fucking amazing, though.

  • 3:35 - Yes, that’s a great pitch. And I’m sure I’d want it if was Kersh too, especially that late in the game. But for the announcers to say it was “definitely a strike” is a stretch. It’s a borderline pitch that can be called either way.

    • @@willamshugo283 ....... You did not get hit with a 50 mph baseball in 2nd grade. 2nd grade is composed of 6 and 7 year olds. No 7 year old in the country is throwing 50 mph. You can Google pitching velocity by age and it shows the low, average, and high velocity for every age from 6 years old and up to a MLB baseball player. 10 year old kids in the Little League world series are barely hitting 50 mph and they are years older then you would have been in 2nd grade and they are the best players for their age in the world. Also, there are no radar guns used in tball or pony league where a 2nd grader would be playing so how would you know the speed?

I don’t think there’s a high level athlete alive that hasn’t had a moment where they want to smash something in frustration. Some might say bottle it in, but think of big Papi when he smashed the dugout. He’s arguably among THE most sportsmanlike players to have ever played. Shit Machado used to do (before he realized that positive PR equates to more money with endorsements and kept it clean in front of the camera) is unsportsmanlike.
