The passion of this woman is beyond my understanding. She cares for her vision and works, fights for it to become real. Been a fan since 2018 but this Rosalía, Motomami Rosalía, looks way more confident than her previous versions. She's transformed into a warrior, a voice of power, and I truly respect that. Can't wait to listen to the whole project in a few hours.

rosalia is like a breath of fresh air in the industry for me. her sound is so new, diverse and unique. she really IS the moment
it's not new, its literally Caribbean sound and slang. only because she is a white girl singing it she gets hyped up for it. the sound has been arround for decades

@@joycearmstrong1648 The way she plays with music genres sounds pretty new (not saying it’s new, not even her says it’s new, but it feels like new as she plays with the context). She put many asymmetrical songs with some Latin influence but they don’t sound like the Latin music I’ve heard before. She starts with a reggaeton beat and ends up with a super dark experimental sound (as for example in her song Diablo) or introduces flamenco influence in the way she sings some songs that have nothing to do with flamenco. She is very creative.

The way she articulates her thoughts comes off so genuine and heartfelt. This is her art not just a money making move. She doesn’t care about anything materialistic.
European artists seem so much more authentic to me than anyone else. You can see that most of them do it for passion rather than just a platonic career. Love Rosalías emotional intelligence and honesty.

but Spanish is very different to the rest of europe specially than north european cultures. spain is just another mood, much more influenced for north africa and all that oriental cultures on the gipsy groove. british artist for example, are much moore in common, and in Spain being friendly is just the same than being REAL so for us is natural.
This interview is just fantastic. Rosalía is the most interesting artist atm. She knows exactly how she wants to sound and she's on top of all her productions.

One thing about Rosalia. She has dignity and self worth. She is all about her craft and her passion in her music. She is one of the realest musician of our generation.
I've been in the music industry my entire life. I'm pretty jaded and not easily impressed at this point. ...but her music & voice absolutely blew my mind. She's one of those "once every 7-10 years" type artists. I'll always remember hearing her for the first time and becoming obsessed with finding absolutely everything I could hear from her. She's a true artist and she's destined to become a legend.

She’s so honest and non pretentious because so many artists say they can’t listen to other peoples music, it confuses me because everything you make comes from the library of information that is in your mind of music you have already heard and loved anyways.
As an artist, and as a woman, watching this is so inspiring. I love that Rosalia curates her own vision and sound, like she isn’t bound by others’ opinions or past preconceived notions. She builds her own path herself, she takes the rules and reconstructs them in her own way, and that is so powerful and beautiful. (also, personally, as a latina living in the US, it’s really cool to see artists like her who blend all of these different inspirations and cultures together to make a piece of art such as her new album. It makes me feel seen, while also completely viewing it through her own lens)
It’s easy to see that fame hasn’t changed who she is at her core, she’s humble and down to earth. Her music is purely her artistic expression, she is so so talented

Zane Lowe is a stellar interviewer. Each time I listen, I wonder if he even cares about the interviewing side of things… At heart, it’s so obvious that he is a fan and a lover of music and art. Conversation flows so easily because he cares so much about each artist and their artistic process. I am so grateful that he is in the position that he is.
You gotta love Rosalia FULL for staying authentic to her essence and not wanting to play anyone else's game, that's so rare even the way she talks is so unique
How is Zane so good interviewing?
He is an excellent listener, is very supportive of and uplifts his interviewees, opens up in an emotionally vulnerable way himself, and probably has done improv classes (which I strongly recommend to anyone who wants to learn to be a better listener and discover a sense of play and be more comfortable opening up)

I watch a lot of his interviews; Zane is such a great interviewer. It really is just hanging out and conversing. But yet, he is also very prepared and well-informed. Kudos Zane! I just finished listening to Motomami and was mindblown with the sounds and how she mix and match it, for lack of a better words. I love how inventive and adventurous the whole thing is but like she said, the pieces do come together. I’m so glad I find her. Rosalia is here single handedly rejuvenating how we enjoy music, sound, sonic, voice, all the above.

you’re lucky, she’s an incredible musician. I recommend starting with her first album Los Angeles and then El Mal Querer. Don’t listen to her singles until you get her essence as an artist from those albums first. otherwise you might think she’s just about hits or “bangers” lol.

I knew Rosalia was special when I first heard her music. Hearing her speak proves that.
I imagine her as some kind of super hero or avenger, like the daughter of el Zorro. She has so much inner energy, intelligence and charisma that she could do it great in Hollywood even without composing or singing.
Zane you have to be my favourite interviewer. You find a way to connect with artists and their creative experience whilst being able to engage but not impose with your perspective and connect with them. So good. I really love this interview and I loved this album but now I also love her.

Charming, charismatic, energetic, talented, fun, smart and artistic. Been listening to Motomami now for a month. Every time I hear something new and delightful. Always makes me smile. Now it's fun to hear about the process of making the album. Interesting insight of the creative process. I love how she blends the old with the new, the sad with the joyful and the simple a capella with the samples and production. What a free spirit, and that voice! Goosebumps.

This album gave me big ΛΛΛYΛ (Maya) vibes. Definitely don't mean to compare ROSALÍA to M.I.A., but this record feels just as groundbreaking. ΛΛΛYΛ predated 'Yeezus' and really set the groundwork for a lot of experimental music, that really set the bar afterwards, MOTOMAMI feels just as revolutionary.
