How long did it take you to change out the bushings? Start to finish Remove and install.

Probably 2 hours, but if I have to do it again probably an hour.

How did you know the bushings needed replacing?

You can hear it if put your car in park and turn you wheel back and forth and you will hear a clunking noise. You can also use a pry and pry the rack and pinion up by the bushings and it it moves then you know it bad.

Mine made a "thunk" noise when I did extreme turning. When I would pack out of a parking spot, say turning the rear to the right. maxing my steering. Then when I woudl swing the tires around to go straight or say turn left, it woudl pop. Basiclaly I assume it was the rack hitting the cross member. I had something similar when the struts went out, but it was at a different point in the turning. Kind of at the transition from left to right. Also, pot holes make a thunk noise, or rough roads. The turning in and out of parking spots was my first indication though.

There is no part number for the bushings. I searched online but couldn’t find one.

Dealership does not sell bushings alone they want to sell you the whole rack n pinion they make it sound good at the end when they tell you it also includes inner and outer tierods for the price of around $1,300.00 parts only.

Did you have any shaking/vibrations at high speeds?

No. The shaking/vibrations could be your tires out of balance. More of a clunking noise when you turn at low speed or over bump.

I used the adjustable wrench to hold it and used the impact from the bottom to get them off.
