  • My Havanese is 10 weeks old today. She received her first bath by me last week. That big pitcher is a good idea. My puppy DID NOT appreciate the hair dryer so, I used a large heating pad and dry towels. Thanks for making this video. Very helpful.

    • With a puppy who is more afraid of the dryer, you can keep them mostly wrapped in the towel, and just have a helper play SMALL amounts of warm air from the dryer over the puppy's back from whatever distance he will tolerate. Just a bit at a time, and only as much as the pup tolerates without scaring him!

    • @@KarenRandall54 Thanks for replying. My "puppy" is now 13 months old and 14 pounds. What works for us is warm towels from the dryer. I throw 4 bath towels into the dryer and turn it to HIGH. When we're finished with her bath, I just wrap her in a hot towel and massage her. When that towel has cooled or has become damp, I grab another hot towel. Any anxiety she had disappears while holding her. She just melts in my arms. 🙂 The groomer says she has no problem with the hairdryer, though. I may try it again. Again, thank you for replying.

    • @@KarenRandall54I live in very hot climate. Do I need to use a drier? Can I just take my dog outside for few minutes? This is how I dry my hair😂, I just sit in the patio

  • Awe, nice job. They will have to learn the sounds and everything associated with grooming. Nice he is doing it in your loving arms. Very sweet.

  • Darling dog, such a beautiful little Havanese! You are so lucky to be surrounded with all this love. I wonder if you sell them? But you are way up in MA and I’m way down in Southern Missouri . I have raised a liter of Besutiful Standard Poodles and the pups were all born into my hands. I kept two gorgeous males and my son kept the very large and magnificent black one. They lived to be 16, 15,and one son died last month at 13. I have one beautiful large chocolate sable male. I am older now and have been in love with these remarkable Havanese dogs. I really feel this is the direction for me and probably more manageable. Duck will have much success in the show ring. Thank you Mimi

    • I do, but I do not have puppies often! My next litter will be when Ducky is old enough to be the sire! ;)

    • @@dorothywheeler5872 If you prepare chicken in your sink you do other “unsanitary” things in your kitchen! LOL! If you have a problem with it, you can always you another place in the house. But it is easy enough to sanitize stainless steel and granite counters! Please feel free to wash your puppies where you see fit!❤️

  • Wow, I fall in love with this dogs. I am Italian. How much does they cost in USA? In Italy quite expensive, about 600-800 euro without pedigree

    @naomibrik8843@naomibrik88432 жыл бұрын
    • In Sweden minimum around 2200-2700 EUR with pedigree. Seen similar prices for those without pedigree too, but then you know they aren't purebred. Pretty sure COVID increased prices too.

    • Mine is getting born next month. With a pedigree in germany and i will pay 1400, during my research the "covid tax" seems to have put it more around 2000 though.

    • In NC they run $2500 to $4000. Pet only

      @midlight9758@midlight97582 жыл бұрын
    • Generally, good quality Havanese in the US run between $3,000-$4,000. I would not know what non-registered ("non-pedigree")Havanese would cost, as I would STRONGLY advise that people avoid breeders who sell dogs like that and only purchase dogs from reputable breeders who breed quality, health tested, bred-to-standard dogs.

  • Get rid of that noisy hair dryer.

    • You can't dry a coated breed without a hair dryer, so the puppy needs to learn to tolerate it when he has a short coat. Have you seen a Havanese in full coat?

  • This poor little puppy is traumatized by the bath and especially the blow dryer. The negative first experience may leave an imprint on him for life. Always introduce a puppy to new and potentially scary events s-l-o-w-l-y, one step at a time over days or weeks! He is adorable, though!

    @sarahp775@sarahp775 Жыл бұрын
    • Believe me, this puppy was NOT traumatized... this time or ever. His tail was never tucked, he hardly tried to get away. He wiggled a bit, but what 13 week old puppy have you bathed that hasn't? He had been blow dried before this, and regularly since then. He is s show dog, and it's a part of his life. He plays with the stream of air. I agree with you that puppies should be introduced to the dryer slowly and carefully, though! (he was! ;) )

  • Thirteen weeks and his third bath. Insane. Rinse with water!! And don't let puppies get that dirty. That stuff can't be good for a dog's skin.
