  • Malcolm’s only goal was to win arguments and walk away with his head held high. Even if it’s at her expense, he just wants the final word. But Marie knew how to hit back, by attacking his work/talent. The wild part is their arguments had so much honesty and passion.

  • She just tries to make something clear. She needs acknowledgement, appreciation, she needs a partner that sees her and she tells him. But he is defensive about it. He thinks he can do no wrong. Blinded by that he taunts her, makes her feel like she is asking for too much, acts like she should be grateful he even loves her. I recognize these dynamics with my mother. Wherever I try to talk about something that bothers me, she jumps into defense and manages to make it my fault, when I never even intended or tried to attack her.

  • This movie was so intimate, it made me cringe and cry at parts. It doesn't feel like a movie. It feels like a memory, or a dream, something in our subconscious. Like you are spying on their life. Beautiful, terrifying and complex. Best movie I saw on Netflix in a while It doesn't have shoot outs and glitter but the acting leaps off the stage.

He knew how sensitive she is and can be because of where she was before yet he still attacked her knowing all of that. • I like this film, it is definitely not for everyone, but it is good. It deals with a couple, that it looks like finally confronting about somthing that created tension between them while Malcolm was making the film, but it also lighting a light about the hypocrisy of society and especially Hollywood that is trying to compensate years of discrimination of minorities by now treating them like a "make a wish" kid instead of treating them like pepeole, with their own personality inside the context of who they are physically. It's criticizing the notion that we heard in the last Oscars like "why no women are in this and this category" instead of asking what they did to deserve a nomination, and this movie doesn't take away that non white males are not getting the same opportunities, but when they do they are being judged by who they are and not what they did, and I saw a lot of critics hating that aspect of the film and it says a lot about them. Brilliantly done, great acting, great cinematography.

  • this movie was so brilliant at getting what it wanted across that I was emotionally EXHAUSTED at the end. Have to watch it a couple more times to unpack everything. I personally felt as if they didn't fit each other (like the chemistry?) in the beginning but I wonder if that aided in the narrative of them going at each other. Like I still feel that they just don't seem like a couple (he just looks much older idk) but I wonder if that was done on purpose? The awkwardness/unfamiliarity between the 2 may help in the dialogue? Hope anyone understands what I'm trying to say. But of course they were casted based off pure talent which they both did deliver in their individual as well as collaborative performances.

  • Saw this movie, and I have mixed feelings about it. What could've been an amazing piece of art, turned out a bit forced. Like what ensued secs before this particular scene, or Zendaya jutting her chin up, sort of preparing herself to act to argue, John's acting coming off comical as opposed to something very serious, example this exact scene. In the bedroom, towards the end, when he starts crying for the third time in this fight, it seems a bit... forced? Idk how to say but I could just know that they were acting, something which doesn't happen when great actors act and dialogues are not idiotical. Marriage story for ex., the actors made real faces, dialogues looked like something actual real person would say, expressions were also ordinary, which is a compliment because they represented ordinary people. This is something I cannot say about this particular piece. Zendaya's acting was beautiful in Euphoria. Idk why she and him overacted in this.

  • I like zendaya and I think she’s great but I somehow this casting feels off. Not saying she did bad but it does feel unmatched. Washington’s acting skill is pedigree. I never knew he was denzels son when liking his acting in Ballers. He’s great.

  • No, I get it, Sam Levinson. These people are wealthy and miserable for no reason, but they're still only human. That is why they eat mac n' cheese for dinner, and not because they obviously didn't learn anything in home economics class about cooking, as well as dinner table manners, cleaning dishes and kitchenware properly, and not putting your elbows on the table while eating.
