Dorsett's 99-yarder is by far the best. As he still had a chance of being caught down to the 15-yard line; and he tip-toed the sideline starting at the opponent's 20-yardline. Outstanding.

Bo Jackson would have OWNED the record books. Incredible. And he was every bit as good at baseball! And I remember Tony's 99 yd. run on Monday night football when I was in high school. 70's and 80's were the best time to grow up watching sports, from boxing (before cable TV) to football to basketball to baseball. All the legends...and great beer commercials!!

"And he was every bit as good at baseball! " No, he most definitely was not. He was top tier HOF quality in football. In baseball, he was barely above mediocre. People fall in love with a couple of his highlights, but you look at how he actually performed in baseball, and it was nothing special.

personally the longrun I love most is O.J. Simpson's 88yards one against Steelers at the Threerivers in the 2nd game of the 75 season which made me start my football career as a RB at highschool and college in Tokyo. ( I am a Tokyo born&bred Japanese of the age 60 and I watched the scene on TV at the age of 15) For I am very sorry for my terrible English.(I am posting my first English comment) And I also would like to say thanks to the channel's operater and all the NFL&Football fans viewing this channel in America, the birthplace of the game for bringing me back a happy and nostalgic memory of my youth.😄😄😄

I love how the Jets defense was featured prominently in this "longest runs from scrimmage in NFL history" video. lol Speaking of the Jets, where's the 98 yard run they had against the Bears back in the 1990s without scoring? They had the ball on their own 1 on 1st and 10, ran down to the Bears' 1 (98 yards), and then failed to score on 4 straight goal-to-go plays. It's the longest play in NFL history without scoring. Typical Jets. 👍

I saw that game, too. I also saw 0ak 34 [ie Bo Jackson] on the play he injured his hip. What a shame. If he'd only played baseball he could have played for 20 yrs.
Bo Jackson is my favorite to watch. The speed, the power and the smooth style....like a supercar.
A superior once in a century athlete. Wish we all could've seen his career keep going.
Would’ve been the Greatest RB of All Time without injury. Imo
@Gyp Rosetti dumb af
Bo was more talented than Jordan and was taking over @ the time of his injury.
"And he was every bit as good at baseball! " No, he most definitely was not. He was top tier HOF quality in football. In baseball, he was barely above mediocre. People fall in love with a couple of his highlights, but you look at how he actually performed in baseball, and it was nothing special.
Bo Jackson was awesome! Herschel Walker was amazing! I miss the NFL of the 1980's and 1990's! Electrifying, thrilling, awesome and amazing football players and games!
4:06 "Throws off bodies like clothes after a marathon" WTF XD
personally the longrun I love most is O.J.
Love Tony Dorsett!!
My man bo Jackson turned into forest Gump he didn't know when to stop
I remember watching that 1983 Tony Dorsett run live. I can't believe it's been 40 years... crazy!
I believe the Vikings won the game though. Que sara que sara
I was watching it on Monday Night Football with 3 Cowboys fans, and the 3 of them were jumping up and down, and then Vikings won the game. Tony Dorsett was a GREAT, GREAT running back.
I was young and had to goto bed, heard the run from the TV in the living room. Killed me to not know what it was.
Thanks for this. I remember OJ Simpson in his best years and Howard Cosell doing his highlights.. those were the days.
My favorite is Tony Dorsett running it back for 99 yards from the end zone. To this day, that is the longest TD run from scrimmage in the modern NFL (after AFL and NFL merger). Dorsett burst through that line so fast.. like a cannonball! Cowboys fans represent!! #DC4L.
It's sad Tony ended his career in a Denver Donkeys uniform!
That wasnt Dorsett it was me.
@@davidcobb2693 Yeah. I know! It was so strange to see him in a Denver uniform 😭
Loved Tony Dorsett!
BEEZERWAX34 I met him years ago. Our daughters played soccer together. He is a nice guy. But I think his health is eroding.
He ran so smooth .
Damn these guy are straight ATHLETES!!!! Love the retro plays! Man you made an awesome video!!! It blows my mind that these guys can run like this.
Bo was The Greatest Athlete ever to exist!!!
The Garrison Hearst one is my favorite. Walk-off OT TD with a savage stiff arm.
Done123thatend
That run had it all!
That was the best one but Cowgirl fans won't admit it.
@@samu-eljackson4211 I also think it was the best one. He had to break tackles instead of just outrunning the defenders.
The Jets appeared on Defense alot in these highlights...Lmao!!
Just End The Season
Crying dry my eyes.
More Summerall. This plus you have good themes. Subbed!
Back when the game, was a game and enjoyable to watch. I haven't watched an NFL game in 4 years, even Super or Pro Bowls. Don't miss it. Very nice clips.
Glad my boy OJ is getting out of the slammer! Great clips here, thanks!
We were so blessed to see such a natural athlete in every clip of Bo Jackson, even if it was a brief Career I don’t think we’ll ever see that again.
All of these guys runs were amazing and exciting. However, if you watch closely, Dorsett’s initial burst through the middle of the defensive line was amazingly quick. In my humble opinion, it’s what really set his run apart from the rest of the other fantastic runs.
This is one of the best all time NFL videos I have ever seen. Thanks Savage Brick for this one.
On Dec 6, 2018 Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry scored on a 99-yard touchdown carry during the second quarter, dishing out three defender-shedding stiff-arms while trudging his way to what was arguably the most incredible touchdown of the season.
I still remember TDs 99 yard run.
Me too.
I hated the Cowboys (still do, as an Eagles fan), but I remember seeing it on live TV, and it was an amazing feat. Dorsett was an athlete.
And the Cowboys were short 1 man on the field!
Much respect to the players, they are so perfect and amazing
Many thanks for the great post.
These speedsters make everyone else seem so slow. So exciting to watch
Bo Jackson and what could've been. Man was truly amazing.
I remember watching that game. At first that tackle didn't seem like a big deal til you saw the replay. I remember the following week when an NBC sideline reporter broke the news that it was a lot more serious than originally thought. The reporter was O.J. Simpson.
was just thinking the same thing.... Jackson simply performed at a different level. He was a Mack truck with a Corvette engine....unreal
Dorsett has a 90 plus yard TD a 80 plus yard TD a 70 yard plus TD and a 60 plus yard TD . I believe he is the only RB with this record. The most underrated RB ever. Pure class
I looked this up several years ago - you're on it - but not only that, he had seasons where his long run hit nearly the set of 10's... 90,80,70,60,50,40,30(several times), 20 and 10. Never had a single season long of under 10 though, so he missed winning the full lotto :) in sorted order : 11 20 35 36 38 38 39 47 58 60 71 84 91 and starting in 86: 84 60 38 20 47 58 71 38 35 91 36 39 11
Is this career or single season?
I watched his 99 yarder on television live. It was awesome.
Love the run by Tony, watched that game
Chris Robert
As a Vikings fan, I remember that run too. 😭😭😭
I was 8 yrs old, I was yelling GO TONY!!! He's the only Dallas Cowboy player I ever cheered for.
So did I. And they only had 10 men on the field.
6:25 that DB has a great story for the grandkids, wow caught Bo Jackson
Tony Dorsett STILL holds the record. 99 1/2 yards. I watched that game and the ball was actually placed JUST over the goal line, like the 1 foot line. Heckof run.
I heard Dorsett @2:27 was the longest of them all in the entire history of the NFL. the ball was almost touching the goal line when snapped.
Bill Cenne yea it was but not tha most impressive though
Bill Cenne - It's strange how I remember this set up. The punter for the Vikings had one hell of a punt to pin Dallas deep. The ball just bounced around the one inch line and then went out of bounds. The very next play, Tony did this.
The Cowboys ended up losing the game and it was a Monday night game as well.
Bill Cenne yes but the Vikings still won!!
The missing player was Ron Springs, the intended ball carrier.
1:26 All you can do is smile when you hear Madden talk.
True nostalgia LOL 👍
Especially when he is complaining about the immaculate Reception! Lol
Excellent video!
Bo Jackson with that break neck speed is my personal favorite. Primo video!
Bo had it all.
The Bo Jackson run is probably the best of all time. 2:02. Pure magic.
Herschel Walker and Jackson ran very similar in the open field, and both had tremendous first and second step acceleration. They were both very smooth running at full speed, too. Interesting how they even wore the same jersey number
@@milojanis4901 Yeah, maybe they each chose to wear number 34 because they were fans of 1) Joe Perry [also a World War II veteran], 2) Franco Harris [Rest in Peace], 3) Walter Payton, or 4) Earl Campbell because they all wore number 34!
The way jackson ran over Brian Bosworth 3 times their 1st meeting pretty much deflated that man permanently. Bo was explosive
@@thoglow0911ify You should watch the 30 for 30 episode of Brian Bosworth then you will know how he became the "Sheriff of Fansville" - it was ingenious of Brian Bosworth to create his character while playing for Oklahoma!
Their all incredible!!
CJ2K is the greatest home run hitter in NFL history...gets two clips on here and I think he has two other 85+ yd runs not shown... amazing. Wish the Titans put more around him those years.
2:28 Tony Dorsett
I agree. The Dorsett run is the one I remember the most.
.... good stuff... Helps me get excited about the 2018 season go Cowboys
Why would anyone put this as a thumbs down? They must hate football. These are awesome and bring back awesome memories. Bo Jackson and Tony Dorsett. I forgot how good Chris Johnson was. Thank you kindly for doing tis!!
Unique thing about Dorsett’s record is the fact that Dallas only had 10 men on the field. Ron Springs was supposed to get the ball, but ran off the field.
I was a viking fan in the stadium with my dad and brothers that game. The whole stadium was chanting Safety! Safety! When Tony got past the last defender around the 10 yard line you could hear a huge gasp as the air came out of our cheer! The Vikes did win the game though!
Great post. Thanks.
I wish Bo never got hurt. Same for Gale Sayers.
Bo Jackson was my generation and I wish I got to see more of a NFL career.
What if...Bo doesn't get hurt in the playoff win over the Bengals? The Raiders go to Buffalo and beat the Bills because they couldn't stop Bo. Then even with Parcells and Belichick, the Giants can't stop Bo and the Raiders win Super Bowl XXV. It's no coincidence that Bo's football career ends and the Bills win the AFC Championship 51-3.
Bo was like Derrick Henry with Olympic sprinter speed(in no way am I inferring that Henry is in any way slow).
OJ cuts left. He slashes right. He's on the 10. He's on the 5! He's on the 405!
Momentsin Trading and now he,s free and lose in Las Vegas.
MomentsInTrading he’s caught after 81 !
I didn't see yours till just now lol go read mine lmao
Michael Collins I have always believed that there had to be two killers also but after watching his highlight runs, iiowno. That ni!@# is pretty fast! I could see him pulling it off.
MomentsIn Trading you need to get you a talent agent cause this comment is fuckin nice!
Tony Dorsett 99 1/2 yards! That record can’t be beat! Go Cowboys!!!🏈
The best thing was right before that run, Howard Cossell had made a comment about the Cowboys thinking they can just turn it on whenever they want.
Loved "the juice"...he was a killer running back!
I just remember that Monday night game Houston vs Miami....and Earl Campbell lit up the board!! 250 pounds and out running 185 pound d backs!!!
One of these happened when the offense only had 10 players on the field: Dorsett's 99 yards in 1983.
Nice
Probably this helped the outcome as the defense thought they could get a sack (safety) because they surely noticed they had 1 extra player.. they rushed to sack the QB. That and Dorsett's talent¡¡¡
Oh man, I remember watching that Ahman Green run against the Broncos in Lambeau! That was so cool watching in person!
Nice work, Savage. You put the Tony Dorsett run in here.
Damn.... Bo Jackson made it look so easy.. How can you be that big and that damn fast? He would've been the best...
he waz the best, it took a hip injury 2 stop the Locomotive 🚂
Tony Dorsett 99 1/2 yards with only 10 cowboys on the field
The sad thing that night was Dallas lost. Bummer
I stayed up past my bed time that Monday night and actually saw that run and yes Dallas lost :(
Was it his fault , it was only ten men own defense. Plus u sound like a hater. U prolly Neva played any sport in ur life.
A record that can't be broken...!!!!!
@@shyba2011 never. I got to watch it when it happened live. I was young but I remember that run, the MNF broadcaster especially when the guy said ut oh.
5:40 That music from the old highlight reels😂😂 ESPN should use that.
great video
Lol, that Hearst run was Beastly.
i remember watching Tony Dorsetts 99 yard run TD on Monday Night Football againts my team the Vikings...nobody ran faster then Bo Jackson..
I was at the Raiders and the Steelers ..I just got to my seat and was getting all my equipment situated ..When the crowd erupted I just blindly held my camera up and managed to get almost all of pryors run ..good stuff
That was such a great game.
At 1:03 was Herschel Walker. What many don't know or don't remember is he had world class 100 meter times and ran that event in the 1982 College NCAA's championships. He is also one of the most intelligent and nicest people you will ever meet.
Brian Savage heres the most impressive thing Herschel was 32yrs old when broke that 91 yd td.. Not to mention RB are washed up by 30yrs old and cant run no more.
Fly Eagles Fly!
Herschel had 3 90+ yard TD's with the Eagles that year: the 91 yd run, a 93 yd catch, and a 94 yd KO return.
What's also odd about that run is he didn't break 100 yards for the game despite that long run.
Brian Savage he could catch passes as well as any WR...
That guy who chased Bo Jackson down from behind...legendary status
His number was 75, too, wasn't it? Was he caught by a D-lineman?
That's what he's most known for haha en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Jones_(cornerback)
Props to the guy for the effort but Bo appeared to be gassed near the end of that run.
Rod Smith
Even before Bo got "gassed" Rod was keeping up with him
All these runs were amazing. I do have to say that I miss very much the football games called by Summerall and Madden.
I remember that Dorsett run. I was a Dallas fan back the... Monday night football...
Herschel Walker should get extra credit for them big-ass shoulder pads.
I thought the same 😂
Style points, credentials, and basic Badassness, it's TD, Touchdown Tony Dorsett Hands down!
Good rhyme
Yeah I'm very late to the game. MUCH RESPECT for this not having a front loaded bunch of crap noise or a way too loud beat rolling on audio instead of real time commentary. Title says and delivers.
Great history captured....
This video ain't complete without a run from the greatest runningback WALTER PAYTON!!
No barry sanders
You mean barry sanders?
@@fallout4and340 yes
I always thought Wilbert Montgomery reminded me a bit of a Payton /Dorsett hybred. Almost as tough as Payton, almost as fast as Dorsett.
Bo Jackson's just incredible
No still knows
Prime time
Bo is impressive on paper, impressive as a Madden choice.. Never ran for 1000 yds in the NFL.
Played like a man among boys. The only others in his class would be O.J.Simpson, Barry Sanders and of course the great Jim Brown. Only Jim had the power that Bo possessed. Bo would make any NFL team today, and make them better! Once in a lifetime athlete.
@@jdm19791 OJ ran for 2000 yds in 1 season. Barry ran for 2000 yds in 1 season. Jim Brown ran for 1800 yds in 1 season. Bo never broke 1000 yds in 1 season. Bo had a Nike campaign and alot bought the hype.. Bo wasn't a man among boys.. He wasn't even an average NFL Starting RB in yards production. A big strong fast guy who played pro baseball.. and had sub average NFL stats.
Great video
Love it
I'll never forget Bo Jackson hitting a fairly hard ground ball to 2nd base and he beat the throw. It's one thing for a right handed batter to beat out a moderate ground ball to short or third, but second base is very rare.
O.J. knifing though the defense. Can’t lay a glove on him. Galloping like a bronc, o man.
🤔😂😂
Yay a raider one :D
Garrison Hearst really had to fight for every yard…. amazing run!
Time to add derrick henry vs the jags
That Hershel Walker run, and that's about as excited as you'll ever hear Pat Summerall get.
Yay 2 raider ones :D
very cool video....tanks!
Legend has it that James Harrison is STILL chasing Pryor.🤣🤣🤣 I remember watching the Dorsett run on MNF.
Dorsett's was the greatest & it was on MNF I am a Cowboy fan from Pgh
Kap when he was luved..
Stunnin'!!! .18
Love the Dorsett run...and a sweet run from Garrison Hearst. 3 for Bo:) and 3 against the Jets D:(
Garrison Hearst's run deserves more credit than it gets.If Herschel Walker played behind the same line Emmitt Smith ran behind who knows how his career could have gone who else has 90 yards plays rushing (1)receiving(1) returning(2)
BO JACKSON WAS SO FAST GREATEST ATHLETE IVE EVER SEEN PLAY
Looking out My
I was at that 1983 Cowboy game. It was crazy to see 99.5 yard run. I still think Bo Jackson was the best. Had he not got hurt. History would have been made.
aye i love running bro
They saved the best for last, and at least Buffalo scored one and didn't give up one; Let's Go Buff-aloooooooooooooooo WHEW!
What, no video of Al Bundy in high school. I'm sure he had a 90 plus run when he scored those 4 Td's. LOL...
Yes I was lead blocker for him at Polk High School when he broke a run for 96 yards.
Ginryuu Hiroku 😂😂😂😄😄 Polk High School city champ MVP
Even Bubba Smith couldn't stop him.
Uncle Rico would be in this, if not for an ankle injury
nor could spare tire Dixon
Bo Jackson was nasty! That speed combined with that power. I mean shit, look at the dudes legs, he was jacked!
A not-to-be-repeated phenom. He was like someone crossed Earl Campbell with Usain Bolt.
He was one of the most gifted athletes we'll ever see. If he hadn't been quite so fast, he wouldn't have gotten hurt, and who knows what he would have been capable of achieving?
Tyler Schroeder im mini Bo Jackson thats what they used to call me lol..
Bo just looked fast!
Nice.
Bo KNOW how to run for 90+ yard runs from scrimmage!!! Would have been the BEST EVER!!
Pat Summeral was so cool
You’re gonna have to add one in your list! 😂
Those huge shoulder pads from the 80's are kinda funny looking. 😊
