  • Blue drag truck is twin turbo'd, the green is a no turbo unit... I wouldn't call it a wannabe, almost 70mph in a 15k lbs truck @ the drag strip with no turbo is amazing. Especially since the engine design is over 60 years old!!!

    • It's called bracket racing. You run your vehicle a couple of times. Then you write the time you think you'll run on your window, let's say you think your will run 13.5. Your opponent has a much faster car 10.1. You get a 3.4 second head start. So whoever has the best reaction time plus runs closest to their time without running faster wins. Say your opponent runs at 9.90 and you run 15.5 you win he ran to fast of a time called a breakout. Start to early red light and lose. There's a lot more to bracket racing but it's a fair race between two cars that are unequal.

One is a drag "truck" and the other makes the country go around. Lets see how long that "race truck" can even keep racing, let alone even get to the races without all the real trucks doing their job and making a living for a huge number of people.

They're both drag truck trailer queens, if you were so keen on "real" work trucks the first thing you'd notice is the green truck has its 5th wheel removed along with all its hydraulics, next big clue is the single rear drag slicks and finally the sound of its engine and acceleration, That thing has some serious performance modifications too. Just because a truck still has its horns, lights, factory stacks, and airbox dosent mean it can haul a load cross country.

The 5th wheel removed? how long does that take to put back on and change tires, etc. I've done it. along with turbos, injectors, fuel pumps. This same thing goes on in tractor pulling, but they have different classes so machines like this don't get matched up and punk kids aren't shouting wannabe. There are tractors that were built for pulling and that's all they'll ever do. Then there is a class where the tractors are modified (some quite heavily) but they go back to work on Monday on the farm until next years county fair season. I can help you though. Sometimes you think you're right, but you just don't know enough to be right or wrong in this instance

  • Im confused, which one is the wanna be a truck?

    @jimmydcricket5893@jimmydcricket58933 жыл бұрын
  • The naturally aspirated understressed engine can do this a hundred times with nothing but regular maintenance, the built one on the other hand she requires lots of "building".

    @pizzadude6615@pizzadude66153 жыл бұрын
    • Neither of those trucks are naturally aspirated. Or are you referring to something other than this video?

  • Im just making some research about 2 stroke Detroit engines since here in europe as far as I know we had no 2 strokes in trucks, except few US trucks made their way here. Was that V12 somehow relative to usual V12 benefits, like low RPM torque, quietness or less vibrations? How was it to drive that monster? BTW...those guys should make round 2. 1000 miles 25 tons delivery.

    @martincoufalik9101@martincoufalik91014 жыл бұрын
    • Not sure on the comparison...hard to do apples to apples as the V12s were a lot bigger displacement. 12v71 was, by definition twice the size of a 6-71 and was still over a hundred cubes bigger than a 8v92. In my limited time listening to a V12, I would say the sound was more even, which would seem to me to make less vibration. Detroits were known for one thing...noise. My brother-in-law has a tractor with a small Detroit, the tractors nickname is Screamer. The general nickname for a V12 Detroit is Buzzin' Dozen. Out behind the barn is my dad's old dump truck with a 6-71 in it; on a clear...otherwise quiet...night, you could hear it pull onto the highway out of the quarry ~15 miles away.

    • @@66stang357 And what about the cabin noise? Same madness? We did also some V12s here in Czech Republic, they were mostly only military thing tho...Made for moving things like tanks. You can look here. kzhead.info/sun/hbF8lZiLZ52XfH0/bejne.html That thing is aircooled by the way.

  • Well. I was excited to watch this cuz these trucks are BEAUTIFUL. The title "wannabe"- a bit derogatory... Coulda been wittier or classier- like the description: "Cornfield Corvette (I LOVE the name "Cornfield Corvette", BTW after a second look at the paint job!) vs [say, "Classic"] V12 Peterbilt" but whatever. Still neat to see the difference in action- To the POSITIVE comments: I just LOVE how you hear the drag trucks wheels spinning THE WHOLE WAY DOWN! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘 WHAT a BEHEMOTH! BUT- I see BOTH times appeared to be set for "13.00": obviously not accurate for the green truck- so, did they hit the mark or breakout!? If that time (sorry, I dont know all the technical terms) had been set for 20.45, they would have technically won for being closer to his time... or maybe that only works if the blue truck had clocked "12.99" and brokeout? Either way it's cool to me! Now for the negative- ALL the HATERS?! F*CK ALL Y'all trolls. The drag truck is a thing of Beauty! AND the (I assume stock) hauler too- seeing how it moved with all that torque not having a load to focus on! Man. BOTH trucks are cool as Fonzie... or Lemmy Kilmister. Whatever. Throw tiny penises around with comments- this was pretty cool. Hearing them both makes me feel "Maximum Overdrive" all day. 😎 Thanks for sharing. Also, just curious- where is this located? The powerline poles in the background look unfamiliar to me...

    • Joshua Chapin This is Woodbury, Oregon. The guy in the booth screwed up the times and ascot was just for the fun of it, the driver of the blue truck decided to just take a guess at it and counted it off. Ended up a little too early, but made for a fun blow by. There should be a link around here somewhere to a friends KZhead page with video from inside the green truck.
