  • I did my PhD at the location in the background - New College, University of Edinburgh. The doors up the steps lead to a meeting hall where the Church of Scotland has its business meetings. To the left is the library. To right there's a door that leads to the classrooms and offices. It's a beautiful and historic building on the Mound in Edinburgh practically next door to the castle and overlooking Prince's Street and the Prince's Street Garden. Turn around and you can feel and smell the sea air coming in off the Firth of Forth, mixed with an odd yeasty odor emanating from a local beer brewery that often permeates the city center. The sound of buses, tourists, bagpipes is carried to your ears on a crisp breeze.

    • @@HALIDONMUSIC Yes, I study classics, and numerous texts about classics were stored in the college before the covid-19. Then the library of the new college was under reconstruction, and all books were relocated to the Hume Tower.

  • This may be the best compilation of classical pieces I've ever heard. Might be about the piano just being incredibly beautiful and calming. Might be because the songs are amazing. Might be both! And Lebensräume at the beginning sounded just perfect!

There are pros and cons to listening to classical music while doing something, a pro being that it lacks distracting lyrics and a con being that it's sometimes too beautiful not to put down everything to fully feel it 🤍 Thank you so much for the love on our playlist though, glad you enjoy it!
