In this video I paint my entire room with Musou Black to see what it looks like when the walls around you absorb over 99% of the light in the room. What happens when you turn on a light in the room?

    • Not necessarily. There are actual deprivation chambers where you are basically hovering in still water, with all your senses being shut off. This has a buttload of positive effects. People just don't understand what a massive amount of information is being processed by the brain every single moment. If that amount of information is not only huge but also intense (loud noises, stressful events, strong light), the nervous system gets overburdened. Since it gets overburdened in an environment that never really dials down, it never gets the time it needs to repair itself. And what happens if it cannot repair itself? It is less able to process that huge amount of intense information and starts breaking even further, which makes it even more susceptible...and we have a vicious cycle. A malfunctioning nervous system impacts literally every single thing in a persons life. Personality, behavior, intelligence, physical ability, health of every single piece of your body from your skin all the way to the marrow of your bones. That is why meditation and other forms of relax are all-around beneficial. Of course, isolating yourself too much for too long is not good (especially if it is forced). But that's another discussion. A controlled isolation is good.

    • This wouldn't really work well in a planetarium, or at least not on the planetarium dome. It sounds counterintuitive, but the dome needs to reflect the light from the planetarium's projector(s) and so the best surface for it is a very reflective matte white surface. That said, this would be neat for the walls... Something tells me the potential disorientation there might be a potential fire hazard, though, so that might also be a no-go. Still, it'd certainly be cool

    • seems like a cool idea but it wouldn't work properly because this type of dye and fabric absorbs most of the light that is projected onto it and you know that in a planetarium they need to project stuff on the dome, and you couldn't really see the projection because most of the light composing it is absorbed by the dye/fabric.

      @FoxGhost7@FoxGhost7 Жыл бұрын
    • @@FoxGhost7 That's a good question. Unfortunately, I have no scientific practice in this regard. But logically, I know that black can neither reflect nor reproduce light. Which means that black would result in missing information that cannot be interpreted by software. However, if one could use black as a kind of recording and separating screen, which only appears to the human eye as a black screen, but would have another function than just being black, for example the recording of other information such as the low frequencies or high frequencies that could be separated, then one could perhaps realize this. however, this is only a conjecture of mine. Unfortunately, I don't know it well enough. That is only a fanatasie equipped assumption.

  • This really illustrates why I prefer lighter-colored table cloths or blankets or furniture or whatever. It's surprising how much a bedroom, for example, is darkened when the bedspread is dark. Or if just one wall is painted an accent color. I was annoyed that one of the walls in my office at my last job was dark gray because it made the whole room darker. I actually pinned up a white shawl and put my degrees on that wall in an attempt to break up the dark.
