Is this in season 5
I will this evening
He didn't just crash, he crashed half the field! Genius.
Cant pass ya if theyre in the grass is a classic race strategy. 😅
Bro used Mario Kart tactics
Romain Hammond?
Even Jeremy was blown away by Hammond’s genius.
And at least this time his off was due to spinning off on fluid from his own car 😀
"I'm a proper racing driver!" The universe took that personally.
I thought he was gonna say, “I AM A DRIVING GOD!!!”
Not all of it.... but alot of this seems staged or exaggerated
@@ethanschmid4104 True OG Top Gear fan! Salute to you, sir.
@@LC-lz6rwA good chunk of it is staged. They can't do all of these stunts without getting someone killed or at least seriously injured. But it's the charm that makes the show great regardless.
Hammond crashing is basically one of the many running jokes of the trio
man-made accident
Really?
No shit Sherlock
Also the fact that Clarkson can’t keep his mouth shut on subjects he should not get involved in.
atleast it wasnt his fault this time :D
It was May’s ambulance that had me rolling
The fact he set up the ambulance ahead of time is hilarious.
😂 at least he tried.
The long shot of the ambulance slowly transiting down the track was hilarious.
Of the seriousness in the crash. James always comes clutch with some funny bits. The stalling and the going “flat out” for the car of choice on the straight just had me rolling.
The most amazing part is that he didn't get lost on the way to the pit entry
Jeremy's reaction to the crosley ambulance is just gold
Almost like he practiced it and it’s all acting.
@@967jamesbairdoh, then why did you even watch it, sour git
@@967jamesbairdor it was genuine laughter.
@@leahc545 There is always that one person.. let's just enjoy
@@KVinceLyeah, one person who isn't a reject.
The way May carried Hammond is just hillarious
Can't wait to do a race analysis on this 😂
Yeah, after Hammond another accident
And this kind of staged silliness is why I I'm grateful your Overdrive channel provides real entertainment like Top Gear originally was. What could have been an incredible segment appears to have been played into a ridiculous pantomime. Looks like I'll spend this season hoping for more from Overdrive!
@@nodafy It's always been scripted, and it's got more so, people rightfully took the piss (plus lockdowns and old age) Their older specials or challenges or the rare raw news reactions were just better It's still nice to see the trio going, but it's not what it used to be, not even pretending to play off their dynamic which is what always made the show good
@@simonh5885 Thank you! Appreciate that. Scott
Interesting that Hammond spun about 700 metres from where May found him
3:31 James May just ran on television. True friendship!
I noticed that too! I thought he refused to do so!
You could see they seemed genuinely worried about Hammond at first, but I'd bet the paramedics made sure he was okay and then the goofs started
I saw that, top entertainment !
Interesting to note that these chaps (Clarkson and May) are always slightly anxious whenever Hammond has had a crash, reminds them of every time they nearly lost him, The Jet powered Drag car, The Rimac Concept One Crash, off the hillside on a three wheeled car etc... and the occasional phone calls made to his wife to tell her Hammond has done it again😂. Keep Hammond safe at all costs Chaps 🫂👑
I think they legitimately have PTSD at this point.
Eventually, it'll be the last one And given they knew his car was busted they had no idea what might have happened
Hi Mindy, it's Jeremy. Yeh... he's, he's done it again 🤣🤣
@PJOZeus yeah, I think that the james running off bit might have been legitimate (getting actual help) but then when it was worked out that hammond was okay, they worked it into an amusing segment on the fly
@@Spitefire6 Nah. The entire crash was scripted.
Ahhhh the fact the James was 100% both delighted and serious about the fact he got to use his Ambulance - following the correct direction of the track to reach him AND the pit lane correctly before joining the track
The comedic timing of James rescuing Richard in the Crosley is unmatched! The serious faces, James running to his car, only to take an eternity to appear over the brow of the track, all in absolute silence. Pure brilliance 💯
This was probably one of the best specials of the last few years: proper old-school Top Gear vibes, I really enjoyed it!
I had the same feeling
I've a feeling this was the last one, it had everything from all the years gone by, James being Captain Slow falling behind, Richard & his pickup Richard Crashing, Jezza & his OTT car, the refrences to the past, the back up car actually being used, the music the drone footage, the laughs, the history lesson & Jeremy's goodbye at the end
@@DeanMoxley87 - pretty sure they’re contracted to do at least 2 more by end of next year. After that, not sure…at least that is what was reported when Amazon were crapping on about the comments Jezza wrote about you know who.
This trio still makes me laugh like a kid. Thanks, guy!
*James going about in that little car is the most comic thing 😂😂😂*
James's ambulance was one of the funniest scenes ever
This Trio will probably never know how much happiness they have brought to the world!
I agree.
I handily disagree. The fact that they're still going even after the departure of the tent, the chaotic waits to get places to film, and the filming themselves, especially since they all have their own personal shows (the Farm, May touring the world, Hammonds shop) says they know exactly how much joy we get out of them and they're committed to giving it to us
Even if you’re Senna you look in the mirrors occasionally.
This trio is still magic ❤️👍🏼
4:20. James in that half assed Ambulance. 😂
May's ambulance and Clarkson's reaction to it had me😂😂😂
Absolutely loved this scene with fat references and the mock ambulance 😂
4:11 I'm dead...🤣
5:12 after that line, it was the perfect time for Jeremy to look into the camera and say: "and with such deep disappointment, back to the tent"
Absolutely love this show and the trio. Don't you dare cancel this Amazon!
Well I believe they have after the current contract runs out..
It's not Amazon cancelling anyone it's Clarkson consitantly acting like cock head he is and writing rubbish in the paper and on twitter if he learnt to keep it to himself we would all still be watching topgear on the bbc
@@CricketEngland i'll kms
@@spooked2104 WTF does that even mean
You obviously have a brain capacity that matches theirs.
Best reason to have Prime. Grand Tour with this Trio is best show ever.
After the constant wind ups about Hammond crashing, it was touching to see the moment of genuine concern shown by Jeremy and May.
They almost always show concern when he actually does They'll take the piss out of him endlessly afterwards because he's not dead, but in the moment they're always concerned, even if it only lasts all of three seconds
Do you really think James would be running to his ‘ambulance’ if he thought there was a chance that Richard was actually hurt.
Are u guy’s that dense that u can’t tell this was completely set up ?
@@Surgeeon yes they are
@@Surgeeon The ambulance bit? Yes, that is set up, probably once they learned Hammond is ok. The leak? Not a chance, this is putting way too many people in unpredictable danger and potential death. Oil on track is dead serious issue.
3:56 This is where most of us nearly died of laughter 😂
Comedy gold. I cannot remember just how many times these 3 have pulled me out of boredom and the duldrooms with their antics!. Wonderfu, wonderful stuff!.
The moment Hammond is informed that Captain Slow is coming for the rescue and everything that followed i laughed a lot XD
5:03 Glad Hammond didn't end up like the dummies from the TG ambulance challenge. 😂
The wax museum and the prison camp scenes were so funny
Every special just gets better and better! Thanks mates!😂😂😂
Still hurting from what Hammond did to the Buick Riviera. Seen a few with the right stance and resto-moded and they are nice.
sarcasm? i hope so this was the worst to date ,just the same script ,same silly pranks just awful ,hard to watch
0:37 These 2 seconds of music remind me of the Top Gear soundtrack.
This episode was fantastic! Gotta be the best post-season 3 GT episode. Clarkson and May making the signs at the Formula Easter race was probably the hardest i’ve laughed at them ever. Then the piece with the Skoda Le Mans car, the Praga Bohema review and the AirCar felt like an entire episode of old-school Top Gear crammed into 10 min. It was great.
This was one of the funniest specials to me. For sure top 5. Wish we would get more per year but totally worth it.
Hammond in particular was on form in this episode, one of the best ever. Many laugh out loud moments. I renewed my prime membership purely to watch this.
this clip is gonna be an all time classic of these lads, haven't laughed this hard in a while
The best clip of all time (as far as I'm concerned) is the part of the U.S. special where they drove through Alabama. But then again, I live in the southeastern U.S. and have to deal with many of these "irony deficient" folks.
...and yet that 47 Crosley is way better ambulancing than the Ford Scorpio ambulance from the previous motoring show ;D
You mean, the “Ecnalubma”? 🤣
hahaha
The Ambulance 😂
"I've got better" hahahaha...the ultimate captain slow joke
James driving his little ambulance got me rolling 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Richard Hammond in his natural habitat.😅😂
Amazing I am really excited to watch this special. Richard, James and Jeremy never disappoint
They're so stupid, I love them 😂
Please amazon dont let these boys go im a 62 year old grandmother and have loved these lads for ever they have genuinely made me laugh for years now and this latest trip has shown us what a beautiful world we have but above all you cant put a price on true friendship.
Can we just say how good a friend james is? Man ran into action! If i crashed and saw james, i probably died! Good on you mate! Such a good friend genuinely
When I saw May run after hearing Hammond's off, I genuinely thought he was going to run to where Hammond had crashed 🤣 and my brain was like "Oh god, how bad is it?"... then realizing a few seconds later that he had converted his car into an "ambulance", then the "ambulance" came into view... I lost it after that. Thanks for the laughs @TheGrandTour, I desperately needed it.
I thoroughly enjoy watching each of the trio in their individual endeavors, but the chemistry between them when together is in another league. I laughed so hard at their interactions while watching this video. I have definitely missed them. And let’s not forget the 4th Man, Andy Wilman, the ringleader of the bunch. Looking forward to the new adventure!
What a brilliant episode that was! Just watched it on Amazon Prime. Definitely the very old but gold vibes from the show on.. you know.. the Big Broadcast thingy on the tely. Also newer vibes. Jokes and overall humour were hilarious. I loved also the different visits during the road trip that were very interesting. Won't spoil anything. I rarely laugh that loud but when a new GT comes out I just cry of laughing. Thank you so much for still making me smiling and cheering so much after more than 20 years!
This is probably the funniest part of the episode. I almost died laughing.
Almost died laughing? 😳 Do you need us to call James' ambulance for you? 🚑
@@thegrandtour Oh no. I might crawl to the hospital faster than James getting me there.
My wife said this morning she always knows when a new episode is out because it’s the only show that makes me laugh so hard. T.G. And now G.T. Best show ever made and it’s all due to those three awesome guys. Nothing I have ever watched has ever entertained me so much and I don’t even care a fig for cars. Thanks guys for the laughs your the best.
That ambulance bit was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. 😂
I don’t know what I’d do without these four/three 😂❤ Utterly utterly brilliant as always keep it up lads 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just finished watching. Such a great show presented by the best in the business. The BBC's loss was Amazon's gain so let's hope we get many more episodes of Clarkson, Hammond and May larking about in their 'car' show 🙂
Really great episode. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. These 3 always manage to entertain me again and again.
LMFAO. THEY STILL GOT IT The signs, slowest man to rescue, the medic car, more please.
this special was one of the funniest the nigel mansel accent from hammond had me dying lmaooo
After Scandinavia, i see the universe is finally at peace as things went back to normal
Now if Hammond would have fallen out of the back of that 🚑, that would have been complete gold 😂
.......from 4:01 to the end of the video I could not stop laughing XD XD XD
That episode was one of the best and funniest ever. The 3 were in such great mood… i loved every second
Gotta give Hammond credit, for all the times he has crashed, he continues to get back up and do what he loves.
No wonder he continues to get back up when that crash was faked :D
@@ziomkris1I agree, this crash was staged. The direction he spun and the momentum he had does not match up. His engine probably seized up, so he lost some speed already by the engine braking on the rear. It can also be assumed, that he did hit the brakes. It's a low speed impact if any. I doubt that there was actually an impact.
@@Crallux I already told the other guy, I'm often on that track. He spun in the corner before, which is about 400m from place where he crashed. He crashed on the start straight
@@ziomkris1Look at the video when he spins, his wheels are straight and is on a straight not in a corner. He also stays on track during the spin. My guess is, he spun and stopped on the track or maybe on the grass. Then they decided, it would be more fun to make it crash.
Great episode Loved it :D both Scandinavia and this new one :D
Hammond’s face on the preview is priceless 👌🏻🤣
This had me absolutely crying with laughter! What a fantastic episode. Please do more!
Hilarious but I love the genuine concern they had for Hammond when hearing he went off. There’s real love beneath the humour.
Sorry to say that, but Hammond spin was about 400m before his place of crash one corner before. Then suddenly you can see him in the wall. And they were on the same straight as Hammond so they could easilly see him. It was sooo fake XD (I'm living near that track). Same with that ambulance scene. May "packs" Hammond on the start straight, but then Clarkson see them going through the last corner (so basically they reversed the car)
@@ziomkris1 Very insightful.
@@andyvarte I always pay attention to racing track moments in movies/shows since I know most of them very well :D Greetings!
Love this show!
Definitely an instant classic. Spectacularly beautiful, epically funny. I've never seen Nigel Mansell so animated and erudite on TV before...
Thank you for the amusing and well coordinated stunt-driving work. And, Hammond still intact is always nice.
When I saw James running I thought he had genuine concern, how wrong I was 😂
Me too.... Should have known better.
The best scene that made me laugh 🤣 for minutes was when jezza and hamster set may to race with truck , JCB, 3 wheeler and a bicycle and he still lost it and then he yelled angrily "you bastards".
The only thing that ticked me off was that they mislabeled the Velorex 3-wheeler as 'Soviet'. It was made in Czechoslovakia and used ČZ and Jawa motorcycle engines.
I will forever love these guys
I had the most massive laugh attack in ages...THANK YOU GT
I have loved Top Gear and The Grand Tour. I know the lads are getting older and maybe aren’t up for the insane journeys they’ve done in their younger days, but I will miss them enormously. I’ve seen many shows where people try to follow their formula, and they all fall woefully short. These guys are geniuses at this. If the reason for the series ending is Amazon needing to bow to the “Outrage Police” who are offended by Everything, then that’s a shame. I knew that eventually the series would end, but it’s too soon! There will never be another series to rival what these men have done. Age creeps up on us all, but couldn’t we have just a few more years? *Edited to correct misinformation I had*
Well yeah it'll be sad once the three of them complete their last special. Even if the reason for it won't be some controversial issue, they are getting old and also have their own business in life. But damn they've had a wild ride and we all got to see it in its glory
Rare occasion of Captain Slow running ...
This special was so good, best special yet!
That siren honking will be playing in my head for hours now ... Thanks .... 😅
At least Hammond managed to keep his pants intact after this one.
Truly a fantastic episode. So many great laughing points. Loved the return to track testing cars in the Top Gear style.
There was a part in the special where it would seem like Jeremy was about to introduce the Stig. Knew it wouldn't be possible but it made me think that it was going to happen 😂
Wait is this out already on Amazon?
@@timfagan816 it usually gets released the night before… or I’ve wondered if it gets released on UK time zone so North America technically gets its slightly early than advertised
@andrewsbbq I understand, I am in New Zealand a,day ahead of the uk, (I was born in thr uk) useless fact! 😂. It's annoying cos we're a day ahead, so when it's the day of release we're already past that day in the uk. But it doesn't come here on the same day as the uk in nz. So the wait is even longer. I explained this so poorly. I wouldn't think you even bothered to read it 😂😂😂🤦
@@ja4309 I once had the mental image of Jeremy saying, "Normally, this is where I would introduce our tame racing driver. Unfortunately, since leaving our previous network, we don't have one. Fortunately, however, we were able to buy ourselves one on Amazon!" At which point a human-sized Amazon Prime box is wheeled up and laid down. The trio open it, only to find someone in the Stig's outfit inside it. There's a pregnant pause, and shots of the three of them with "Oh god we're going to get sued" looks on their faces... and then cut to someone carting the hastily re-sealed box away as Jeremy voices over, "Luckily, we were able to take advantage of Amazon's generous returns policy..."
The tenseness of Hammond crashing followed May hopping into that dinky little Crosley ambulance was comedy genuis
The Grand Tour rocks as always.. These 3 could do this into their 80's and stil be the best car show out there .
This medical car is a comedy gold! Imagine something like Grosjean's Bahrain crash and then... James and his medical car for the rescue.
I honestly get so anxious and scared with things like this. Richard is one of my favorite people that I've never met, and with all the accidents he's been in, I'm so afraid that one of these days he won't walk away from one. 🙁
My thoughts exactly
This one was staged though..
Perhaps you should seek help if a staged TV show is causing you anxiety.
@@andrewmurray6750 Don't think they staged vintage race cars squirving off the track.
@@kimmathis1945 But he spun on the corner which is about 400m before his crash place. Hammond crashed on the start straight, they could see him. And after that, May packs him to the ambulance 50m before pit lane starts, but suddenly there's a shot when they're going through the last corner. It was sooo fakeeee XD

You could tell for several seconds that they were genuinely scared for him. They joke about it but they care for the little guy.
Nah, it was staged. Look at May's crash in the last one, that was a real accident and you could see they react differently.
@@itzan7513haha yeah. Hammond had a slow spin and was still on the track then they cut back and he is in a tire barrier 100 feet away facing the other way 😂
@@FGGamer876 Look at the picture of Hammond in the wall, the car is undamaged. All they've done is take the wheel off (there are no lug nuts) and lean it at a angle over the hub, then taken the front wing off and lent it at an angle. I expect the coolant leak was also faked.
@FGG You're*
@@FGGamer876 The leak was a coolant leak. The engine is in the rear and the radiators run along side it. The bolt came from the front of the car so it has nothing to do with the cooling system. Additionally that bolt does not look like it would come from any part of the cooling system.
