"That is a proper Jaaaag." "Hammond you IDIOT." -GOLD
Hammond closes the door "Tinng"
No lie detected.
It's a repeat of the India special "Oh he's bought a mini! That's actually a really good idea, but we can't let him know that."
"If you are a Chinese businessman or businessman woman" - James May, The Grand Tour 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"I see you've bought the Long car" 😂
13:17 if you're looking for it. It's hilarious 😂
I wasn’t the first to arrive, but as you’d expect, I’ve done this properly
Hammond you idiot!
No you didn't *brings a Alfa 8C Coupe*
Hammond you idiot, that's the wrong car *Brings in the Superb Mazda MX5*
Now viewers that we are alone, i can admit that i have made a bit of a mistake
Wish someone in the comment section can do some role plays of this series
I love that James mocked Jeremys “ brown” Aston Martin to no end, proceeded to buy a BMW the same shade of “brown” and then said that his BMW is orange
Both of em in sunset orange. Brilliant! 😂
@@GamingPerks Sunset/Sunburst Orange
@@griffinhays2053well that’s because… ITS BROWN
They're not brown mate, that's verging on a shade of red
Most likely scripted but its stuff like these that make the show beyond funny
The "you know" is such a deep reference. I love it.
Still a running joke from the Car for old people episode
It's so easy to get in and out of, you know?
deep british lore
You know🤣🤣
I love the return to the "easy to get in and out of you know" in some of the episodes from that old chair advert
Ah, every granny's favourite: the Shackleton's High Seat chair. "It's lovely..." 😁
From Shackleton's... ... ... You know
He used it again in one of his Sunday Times reviews few weeks ago.
Yknow our generation jokes about if were gonna be saying memes when were elderly and i think Jeremy is proving that yes we will
Understood only by true fans like us
I fucking lost it when they said “that’s a proper jag, don’t tell Hammond. Hammond you idiot” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
11/10 😂
The happy look on his face changing to confusion was quite funny
reminds me of the top gear indian special when he arrives in a mini James - Thats actually a really good idea but dont tell him that Hammond you idiot jeremy - you idiot
"Driving this I feel like Elvis Presley." "What, dead on the lavatory?"
A previous head-to-head between May and Clarkson had Clarkson in the car previously owned by Elvis
It's actually really nice that Jezza kept that Alfa and still covets it to this day, given it was a one owner example and the old fella he bought it from clearly loved it too.
That GTV 6 might be the best car any of them ever arrived in
@@MartyFoxit looks like sex on wheels. That is a nice car!
@@ZesPak you my friend are an absolute genius for that desciption.
"A German, bought a Cadillac?" 😂😂😂
I think the only thing weirder would be someone from Japan driving around in one lmao
@@evelynsahoe8896 🤣🤣🤣
Must have been the German version of Richard Hammond, ie. a secret American
Nazi germans: LOL
"They think they're Hells Angels, but they're dentists"
this is my comfort content
Great taste, mate! 🍻 😃 👍🏻
Same.. a man of culture
Great way of putting it. It certainly is for me too
How on Earth is it possible to produce just 190hp from an 8.2 V8? That’s quite impressive
Peak American engine design 😂
Its made out of melted down box girders
At the time, the most stringent emissions regulations in the world. The engines them selves were fully capable of good numbers, look at the comparatives pre emissions regulations, and in the real world that figure is slightly misleading because they produce globs of torque from little over idle with a wide spread across most of the rpm range, which is more practical in everyday driving, Unfortunately the seventies bought about a huge swathe of new emissions regulations that given the state of technology at the time were unachievable without using measures that were heavily detrimental to performance, strangling them in essence, those measure included limiting higher rpms, part of the reason for the low peak hp figures. With modern thinking that same engine would produce well over 500 hp na,be compliant, eat tyres and be a lot of fun. Look back at pre war engines, multi cylinder 10+litre racing behemoths making just 100-200 hp or so and today we are getting 150 hp out of 1.0 production car engines,it,s all relative to time.
@@notpoliticallycorrect1303 Time has nothing to do with it, Toyota was getting 95 HP out of 2 liters, *same* time frame, *same* emissions standards. American manufacturers simply refused to spend the time and money for proper engineering, relying on 'brand loyalty' to sell cars. It can be done, Cadillac slapped some fuel injection on the Oldsmobile 350 in the 1975-1979 Seville and got 180 hp out of it. I'm a long time GM fan but the 70s thru the mid 80s were responsible for some of the worst 'fuck it, it's good enough' engineering on the planet.
@@MoultrieGeek so what! ford got 100 hp from a 2.0 pinto in the seventies,if you think 180 hp from nearly six litres is good then you are talking bollocks, time has everything to do with it.
20:38 Gotta love the Jaguars toolkit
That's all you need 😂
@@aimanazrie8944 I wonder how many paintings one can undo from a wall solely with that toolkit 😂
They knew their clientele.
They call that Going Equipped for Jaguar Ownership...
I appreciate the fact you actually labelled each episode in the corner of the video. Lot of other KZheadrs did not even bother to put the episodes in description.
most of them are wrong though
@@kevineastonthis channel is the exception thankfully.
James and Jeremy doing “It’s brown” “It isn’t brown, It’s SUNSET ORANGE” bit twice to each other 😂 21:40 25:08
Let's not get bogged down... Some of the most iconic words ever said on television 😂😂😂
Reminds me of the line from Monty Python's The Holy Grail: "Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who..."
4:54 Hammond's license plate looks like some kinda gamer joke
I never caught James saying "businessmanwoman" until this compilation 😂
All these years later and it's even more relevant than it was then...
There’s also him saying “Firemenwoman”
Clarkson, Hammond and May arguing about cars is salve of the soul for me
As an American, I remember watching the China episode for the first time and hearing Hammond say, "best engines ever made" and cringing violently. Northstars are truly awful engines unless you deliberately bulletproof them after the fact.
The sly cooper music... i love that! 10:36
Omg you're right!😂 what a fun Easter egg
I knew it sounded familiar!
15:04 is from Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. They loved to slip in old video game soundtracks, I assume because they could get the rights cheaply.
0:45 I love how he still uses the "easy to get in and out of you know" phrase from TopGear to this very day, including his farm Instagram videos lmao
As soon as James' Cadillac was on screen, I heard the music and I was like "What the hell? Is that Sly Cooper music?!"
Yes, yes it is. Sly 2 Paris level to be exact
27:02, "what are these two old farts doing here?" One of Richard Hammond's best line ever.
Some of the greatest content in the history of civilization
The last scene crack me up when Hammond brings is wheels lmao
"This is definitive. Yours is derivative." Hammond spitting flames
"Honestly, driving this I feel like Elvis Presley." "What, dead on a lavatory?" That was dirty 😂😂😂
1:33 By God, how beautiful this Alfa Romeo is.
This just makes me want to watch the episodes. Gets me all pumped to watch and then cuts to the next one
It is great that Jeremy himself had to put "broomhandle" to depress clutch pedal of the Alfa. "So the clutch and flywheel doesn't fuse together"
11:16 "Honestly, driving this. I feel like Elvis Presly" "What? Dead on a lavatory?"
Every time these guys say the word "brown" always makes me laugh. 😂
brAAAWWWWWnnnn
10:37 I never thought i would hear a song from one of my childhood games in one of these but here i am
"calm... who wants a calm rally car?" " This T**t" That always gets me 😂
Me too ha ha
The meetup of the 3 American land yachts in particular really felt like a return to the early top gear days 😂 Particularly Hammond's arrival and James being a clot with the piece of burgundy trim flying away.
"Was it parked in the sea when you bought it?" LOL
On the first one when Jeremy said “you know” I believe that to be a reference to when they built the car for elders on Top Gear
23:46 "That's horrible!" the delivery of the exclamation here is just mirth-inducing
Forgot this was just a meet up compilation was looking forward to watching it again 😂
LMAO@ 14:00 calling the Northstar v8 one of the best engines ever
I was shocked at that too. One of the biggest heaps of junk GM ever produced
Isn’t amazing how many good lines and comments and deliveries there are in this compilation. It just never stops. So good 👌
While them taking the piss when talking about their friend's cars is always great, I do love when they put that aside to just about each other's choices.
What a marvellous video, I enjoyed it so much 😄 Thank you for posting.
The ultimate highway machine. 1978 Lincoln Mark V 460 Big Block could run 90mph all day without ever breaking a sweat. Big, and heavy enough to turn crappy roads into ribbons of silk. The last true luxury liner for the road. It had a full frame, and was the last production car to have a big block engine. It was a masterpiece that I was lucky enough to own for a time.
My uncle imported one into Australia, was awesome to sit in and drive but borderline impossible to park whenever you went into town 😂
Thank you for this !
James's Caddilac... 8.2 litre v8 and 190 hp. How? Just, how? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"And with age comes... weight" this will never stop being funny.
These three legend car meetups alone, are better than every show about cars.
"What Is That?" "This A Cadillac STS And You Can Shut Up" "I Wasn't Gonna Say Anything " "Good"😂
These lot are so good that the trips and challenges are the only car related stuff that I was able to get my wife to watch and enjoy with me🥰🥰🥰
There's just something about these 3 that "Works™" and I've yet to really get my head around it. You've got 3 clearly opposite personalities all working against one another in some weird Check And Balance system combined with a Pokemon Status Type but no matter what it's always entertaining. You can tell these guys genuinely like banting with one another. Despite all the nonsense and behind-the-scenes drama, these guys Just Work together so well.
They’ve been together for a long time too
I do love your comps
Slightly put off with James May arrived in the Cadillac and the Sly Cooper theme plays.
2:02 I love how Jeremy's hands spasm with indignant fury.😆
3 of the best entertainers of their generation. Love them or hate them, they are born entertainers.
We need more of this
Dignified Engineering. Love James May!
"to get in and out of you know" love the reference
13:54 Hammond “this Cadillac is fitted with one of the best engines of all time” Me “oh no” Hammond “The creamy smooth 4.6 liter North Star V8”
hahah yeah I don't know if he was joking when he said it was a good engine but it sure got me.
For your next task Hammond you must replace the starter motor.
That got me lmao
"what do you mean its not exotic" literally just said it was coach built 🤣
“You bought the long car” it took me a moment to get it
“I see you’ve bought the long car”.
This is the best meet-up compilation ........... In the world .
These were the good old days
“That old building is a, oh never mind”😂😂😭
American car meet up, especially when James arrived in that cadillac bus😂
Richard: What about second? Jeremy: I never found it 😂
The supercharged Riviera is still one of my favorite cars from that season so glad Hammond kept it
First set of clips when Hammond says”what?” Gives me such a chuckle
“This monochrome Union Jack applied by Germans”😂😂😂
What the fuck was Hammond going to do do with so many spare tires?? 😂😂😂
The best part of every trip
That Jaguar special was absolutly awesome !!!😂
The plates on all these are amazing.
"Hammond you idiot...." probably one of my favorite lines from the show.
These guys probably have the best chemistry of any TV cast ever. The only other people that come to mind are David, Lee and Rob on Would I Lie To You. The BBC were right to fire Jeremy, but they should have just accepted the show was over at that point.
i was the first to arrive
" Calm, who wants a calm rally car?! " " This Tw...
I love the fact they used music from the Sly games for James turning up in the Cadolac
whoever complied this must be saying: "my genius, it's almost frightening"!
The Northstar V8 is one of the WORSE engines ever made in America! LOL
Reliable it isn't.
That and GM's Quad 4
The best chemistry since H2O.
THE GOAT IS BACK WITH ANOTHER COMP
Hey that music track during May's arrival in the Cadillac was straight out of the second Sly Cooper game, right? Lol!
Difficult to get in and out of, you know
Jeremy, pointing at his Audi: “This car’s ancestor has won TWO battles!” Me at home: “That car’s ancestor LOST two WARS!”
They mined all of the Burgundy all over the world.😂
Who’s gonna tell Hammond that the Northstar V8 was one of the least reliable poorly engineered engines in modern-ish GM history? Leaked oil, leaked coolant, blew head gaskets… just ticking time bombs.
Does Liberace pop out of the center console and play the piano for you? 🤣🤣🤣 Classic James!
That second lorry at the end is the same Renault Magnum Jeremy drove in TopGear lorry challenge
"Honestly driving this i feel like Elvis Presley" "What? Dead on a lavatory?"
(2:38) The door sounds exactly the same as a new Toyota Yaris no lie 😆
10:40 thats the soundtrack from sly 2
To get in and out of you know 🤣🤣 reminds me of that Shackletons chair
I think this could actually cure cancer. They should just play these all day long. It's really enjoyable. I love all their banter and all their competitiveness.😅
This was one of my favorite Top Gear shots of all time. 10:38
I think that’s a different programme (and on the BBC).
That Buick Riviera was originally sold new in Canada. Roy Foss is a GM dealership in the Toronto area. Classic design. Not sure why the back bumper turned green...but that's a minor point. :D
19:17 ...what 😂
The second scene when James May arrives in online Lansia, and Jeremy goes on to describe it is the most beautiful car. That particular Lancia where is designed on an Etch-a-Sketch. The only rounds surface is the tires.
