Lunteren fire brigade : A dishwasher has caught fire due to a suspected short circuit.
When the resident returned from walking the dog, she saw smoke coming from the dishwasher.
She then alerted the fire brigade and her husband who was taking a shower upstairs.
The fire brigade was initially alerted for a priority 2, but soon flames and thick smoke came from the dishwasher, causing the emergency center to alarm again for a priority 1.

Keep up the good work!

    • Stichting Salvage is awesome. They come on the spot straight away and help you until the first working day. After that the coordination is transferred to the insurance company. This is organised by all the insurance companies in the Netherlands. ETA from the call to get them on the spot is about 60 min.

    • @@Zebuuuu non profit organization paid for by insurance companies. They help out in case of a home fire: they arrange a hotel to sleep, they arrange a company to put on a temporary roof and they make sure you're safe. So you dont have to worry about everything while your house just burned up in flames.

    • In my case, this could not be further from the truth. My crew and I spent many long nights, salvaging the residents clothes and possessions. We knew too well how hard a fire is for them. I sent my firefighters in with the task of pulling items important for the families and children, as soon as it was possible. Most do not understand, but my brothers and I sure did. Our task began as soon as we had knockdown on the fire. We remained on scene to ensure there was not a rekindle, sending the first-in companies home as soon as practical. We dealt with the bewilderment, the tears, and the loss. Our task was to help those families.

    @kevinmarchbank1636@kevinmarchbank16362 жыл бұрын
    • I'm not a firefighter, but it's my understanding that PPE in NL gets swapped out and/or cleaned as soon as possible after an incident clears up (and for longer incidents, *during* the incident by a resupply van like this), to minimize any potential health issues from working with 'contaminated' gear.
