And most battlefield artifacts are not in usable condition. The fact that this one is both a battlefield artifact and seeming working condition makes it quite rare and highly desirable for the right collector.

      @khyronkravshera7774@khyronkravshera7774 Жыл бұрын
    • @@khyronkravshera7774 No... no actual collector would want anything to do with this. Only someone who knows nothing about actual firearms, or collectiing would even suggest that. I have multiple war relics that saw service/combat and are fully functional... it isnt that rare to find, whats rare is finding then original as issued, all matching markings and unmolested.

  • A really cool weapon and a truly incredible restoration, couldn't have imagined saving any of it. Can't understand why people would prefer these things remain in their original destroyed condition, rather than gaining a new existence to be appreciated and respected for their original historic value for decades to come. This man's effort honors the previous owner and anyone getting to see and handle them in such a faithfully original condition would surely feel more connected to history. Such a talent is a special gift to the world.

    • @@Jay-jb2vr there are "restoration" channels where they fake age either in a salt bath or bury it in the yard. Then film a montages of the "repair" for clicks. Some enjoy the montages, but most find it disingenuous and shows little skill since it amounts to a montage of disassembling and cleaning, not restoration.

  • I am very impressed with the welding skills that were shown in this project! This whole project was awesome to watch. I have never been as impressed with a KZhead farm video as I was with this restoration of this Lugar. The welding skills and the gunsmith skills that were showed in this restoration project were unbelievable. At first it looked like the person was going to just salvage parts off the gun and maybe sell them or something. But then, as I saw the Welding commence, I knew that it was on! My hat is off to you, sir.

    • This pistol type exists since 1908 like the name says. It was used from police and military since then for almost 40 years till the end of WW2. It also lived through 4 types of goverment systems in Germany: 1. Monarchy until 1918 2. Democracy until 1933 3. Dictatorship until 1945 4. Democracy since 1949

  • Having an extensive background in welding, from TIG on down to plain old Oxy-Acet., started taking on jobs for farmers and collectors who could no longer find critical 100 yr.old parts for their tractors.Water pumps, engine blocks,etc.Once in a while if it's a rare piece I'll do a knife or Zipper lighter. Your video of your restoration work on that hunk that most would have thrown away was absolutely exemplary, and showed great experience.I know the satisfaction it brings.Subscribed 👏👏👏

  • Great job restoring sir! You took a German Luger P-08 Pistol, that was in "terrible" shape, and definitely a "non-shooter",and you spoke some magic words, waved your magic wand, and now you have a decent shooter P-08. Many thanks for your video on a handgun known by millions, the Luger P-08.

  • When I was 13 we lived in a small German village in the Hunsrück area of Germany in 1963. Dad was Air Force and we were there for three years. Being interested in WW2 I was always keeping my eyes open for coins and other artifacts from that period. One day I was walking up a hill on the edge of the road and was looking for more German Reich coins in a little stream/sewer running alongside the road when I spotted a rusty pistol in the water. Being a fan of the Sgt Rock comic books back then I knew it wasn't a Luger but it was small, the grips were rotted away and, looking back on it, I'm guessing it was a Walther. Anyway, I took it back to my father and showed it to him and he said to just go throw it back where I found it. I did just that. The initial pictures shown here reminded me of that.
