I just don’t understand why they don’t put Naughton to the back line. That back six is so gettable. he’s a great mark but his goal kicking is horrendous. They need help back there, he seems like he’d be an incredible centre half back.
It might make them better, but they've just signed him for 9 years on elite key forward money. Changing the plan would be a tough pill to swallow.
He was recruited as a backman and they sure need a better defence.
Same case with Darcy.
There’s a lot about Beveridge’s team selection that makes no sense. How has Darcy not been settled into a key position. Why did he have Dunkley playing second ruck? How did Bailey Smith go from one of the best young midfielders in the comp to a total non event before he got injured. Why did JJ go from norm smith medal half back to useless forward. Why did they bring in Lobb when they were over serviced for tall forwards. Why is Caleb Daniel not one of the first picked in defence. What has he done to Macrae? Goes on and on.
Great mark but he got targeted twice in a whole game, so his team dont even rate him

Nothing you can do? Last week they spent a whole segment on how stopping Gawn is key to stopping Melb (plus making May/Lever accountable) If Melb had a half decent fwd line they would have won by 15 goals.
Usually when a team replaces the entire coaching set-up, the Coach will also follow them. It's very rare that a Coach stays on with the amount of rapid change that the Bulldogs have undertaken.
A similar thing happened with Rodgers in his final season at LFC, he was then sacked 3 months later. Surely Bevo doesn't last long barring some miracle happening.

only example I can think of where its brought success was Geelong in 2022, got rid of a lot of assistants who had been there a long time. The dogs however have had constant issues with Bevo whereas the Geelong players voted Scott stay.
Adelaide tried to do this with McGovern back in our premiership window and it was a shocking mistake on our clubs part not making him a full time defender at the time. Look at what he’s done at Carlton the first two games this week and I believe naughton is light years ahead talent wise
Don’t often side with Kane but he’s spot on about bevo - an afl standard coach shouldn’t require a ‘supervisor’ of sorts to keep them under control. There is something off about Bevo
I reckon the correct player position placements FOR THE BENFIT OF THE TEAM is vetoed by the players over the coach.
They need to sack bevo, blokes more keen on throwing the magnets around and tricking the media than winning

Yeah I tend to agree. Bevo’s CV is way worse than it looks. Its only bcos he won 1 flag. They haven’t made the top 4 in his entire tenure. Surely they r a better side than the crap they have served up the last 12 months.

They have zero system or game plan and can’t defend or stop the other team’s momentum ever. The only reason they are competitive is they have a decent list. Easily the worst coached most underperforming team in the AFL and have been so for 3 years. Kane, David king etc have been saying this for 3 years.

They already have two and they are used by used by the Hawks and Kanga's like 3-4 times a season every year.
Believe it or not, there’s bigger issues in the world than AFL and the people or Tasmania see it as a huge waste of money and resources that could be better spent.

@@JaydenLoader-lz8jb It's exponentially far more cost effective to upgrade either of those two Stadiums than it is to build an entirely new one that will cost taxpayers pretty close to a billion when you factor in the ridiculously bs required roof that no other Stadium in the country except the Docklands has.
You can tell Kane has never coached. He plucks out an example of the Dogs not being prepared because they are physical with Gawn as he trotted back and forth 50m to take the kick, when it would have been a certain 50m penalty if they did (completely off the ball). He mentions Gawn didn’t have a scratch on him and had 26 disposals (this is while the score is 21-16 in the first quarter mind you).
and they're clamping down on off ball unnecessary contact. His comment was inane and it's not the reason Dogs lost lol, but he loves creating drama and appealing to meathead mentality

Yeah it's a top 8 list under bevo.. Under a coach who has a clue, they should be pushing top 4, they've never made the 4 under Bevo. Did collingwood have a top 4 list before macrae? Good coaches improve the playing list, with you know, coaching..
