  • Grinter eventually got his comeuppance in Tasmania. Got ironed out in a TFL game with the biggest hip and shoulder by Glenorchy's Robert "Googsy" Gourlay at North Hobart in a final. Grinter was then playing coach of New Norfolk.

  • Toothless gum-less halfwits walking around saying the game’s gone soft are a bunch of mangled apricots. Granted, in some cases it’s gone too much the other way for fear of under-compensating but it’s done a lot right and outlawing these kinds of criminal players and sociopathic player behaviours is absolutely a good thing.

    • Why don't you say what you really mean 😂😂😂 but at least in those days they didn't change the rules and manipulate the game for the TV rights sale's and to get certain teams into the finals. Or rob teams in the finals. Richmond goal reverse final against Brisbane and 6 day break for GWS to play Collingwood this year while Calton got eight days break. The game has become manipulated .

  • This is funny timing, I only saw vision of Grinter's bump on Chris Mew this morning. Absolutely split him in half, clean as a whistle. Would get 15 weeks these days but not even a free kick then. In fact, Mew's teammates didn't even remonstrate, was just considered normal fair play then. Times have certainly changed! kzhead.info/sun/kpmcoMqni3immoU/bejne.html

    • @@marynoonan6111 Youre not wrong, it was a tough game. He would hip and shoulder and clean guys up "within the rules", players could get away with it back then. Its the "King hits" from players that i hated, when a guy has no chance of defending himself....and there were plenty of dirty gutless snipers back in the old days doing that.

  • Was that the prelim Grinter got Mew? He couldnt get a kick in the grand final. No doubt still concussed. Amazed Schwartz didnt name Dipper after fixingbup Flower and Wilson in the same game. I always hated the fact the dirty blokes took out fair players and not each other (except for Balme taking out Ditterich).

    @melthoidserendipity1332@melthoidserendipity13328 ай бұрын
    • Not really true. Balme came to Norwood, initially as a player/coach and his white line fever hadn't abated one iota. He still used to hit guys, but both big and small. Neil was the master of having his eyes fixed firmly on the ball and then punching the guy going for the mark fair in the face. He never missed and he often got away with it. Steven Kerley (formerly from Melbourne) played for Norwood but then switched to North Adelaide. I vividly remember Balme smashing Kerley in the face. I heard him talking about the incident not so long ago and he said he'd got pissed off with Kerley because he kept playing on when he kicked out to get an extra stat. Mmmm, it seemed like a rather weak excuse for lowering the boom on him, but whatever. I have this dramatic photo of Balme taking a high contested chest mark against Carlton and another tough guy, Vin Waite, is smashing him to the side of the head with everything he had

  • Funniest part is the gambling junkie Schwartz calling one of the smartest businessmen in the league, Craig Kelly dumb.

    @DaengPudz@DaengPudz23 күн бұрын
    • What an appalling comment. The Ox was referring to Craig's actions in a specific scenario on the footy field. And yes, he had his challenges with gambling, which he has owned, has been clean now for 20-years, and now works in the field of addiction helping others with their challenges. If you want to throw comments like that from the sidelines, then knock yourself out. Just know that a comment like the one you've made says nothing about The Ox, but speaks volumes about you.
