  • I went right home and fixed this for dinner! 😊 I'm gluten free so I used brown rice flour plus I was rough chopping and eyeballing it, so it was a little thick, but was still scrumptious! Thanks!

  • I remember hiking the island of Ulung-do (my favorite place in Korea). My friends and I had yachaejeon in a tiny village restaurant. It was sooo delicious! We complimented the cook as we paid our bill. She said, Wait a moment, and ran back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she emerged with a nicely wrapped package of yachaejeon to take on our journey. No charge. A beautiful memory.

I am surprised at the similarities between our types of cooking 🤩🤩

  • Made this tonight for family dinner, and everyone loved it. Great recipe Maangchi!!!! ❤💛💚 Quadrupled the recipie and used every vegetable we had: zucchini, carrot, white onion, mushroom, red pepper, cabbage, green onion, chives, and also put in a bit of garlic. Used 1/3 less water, because I put in so much cabbage and red pepper, which were both going to water down the batter. Made smaller pancakes and dipped in szechuan sauce. They turned out soooooo tasty, definitely going to make this again soon. Yum!!!

    • Thank you!!! Do you think oat flour would work?

      @youmakemehappy7@youmakemehappy72 жыл бұрын
    • Yes it works. I use also amaranth floor or chickpea floor to make it more proteinaceous. We have an Indian counterpart dish called Adai with different veggies (keeps changing...spinach, moringa leaves, onion, cabbage) changing them as per each family members demany.

      @jchittoor@jchittoor2 жыл бұрын
    • adai is made from soaking rice and different legumes and lentils and grinding them to a coarse paste, adding salt and red chillies, and a pinch of the digestive asafoetida and curry leaves. This is typical adai batter. cook just like this Korean dish on a skillet with oil on either sides in slow fire. add veggies of your choice.

    • @@youmakemehappy7 Hi! Not sure about oat flour, but I’ve seen rice flour used in Indian cuisine and in bread making precisely because it gives crunch to dishes.

And I want to say:my thank you! Only difference is that I added some honey and ginger to the soy sauce. O and BTW: I couldn’t flip it whole as u did…..had to cut in half.

  • I made this today 😋! This is my 3rd time making this dish. I love it so much🥰. I usually eat lunch at work with my friends. We like to share our food and just have a relaxing lunch. Because of the pandemic, we currently work at home online. I ate my pancake with a tiny crack 💔 in my heart. To me, food is more enjoyable when we can share and eat with others and have peace in our hearts. I shared a picture of my pancake with my friends and family. They kept asking me for the recipe 😅, so I shared this video with all of them. Thank you Maangchi for such awesome recipes!

  • Update 2: This recipe has become a regular here, we do it for snacks, for dinner... Lately I'm suspicious I've developed a mild gluten intolerance 😭 so I tried to adapt it, I'm very satisfied with the result and I'd like to share: For a gluten free version, I've been making it with 4 or 5 cups of vegetables (sweet potato, carrots, cabbage, pumpkin and green onions are my favorites), a cup of corn starch, and 1/5 of a cup of water, in my opinion, it's lighter. (I haven't tried it without the egg for a vegan version, but I guess it might work too). Thank yoooou, Maangchi! 💜 Made it for the second time this week, my family loved it! 💕 I've used cabbage, carrot, onion and collard greens, today I added sweet potato too and it was delicious! (healthy and filling, much love for this recipe, thank you so much for sharing this gem). I make smaller ones so it´s very easy to flip. (usually two at the same time on the same skillet).
