I went right home and fixed this for dinner! 😊 I'm gluten free so I used brown rice flour plus I was rough chopping and eyeballing it, so it was a little thick, but was still scrumptious! Thanks!
Great job!
This is one of the most adorable human beings I've ever seen in my life.
True!
First time in here. Yeah she got me right at the cheerful hello!
She is cute as a button.
Omg i just said the same thing.
Totally agree. So sweet.
“Let’s flip to celebrate Spring!” the smile that spread across my face 😭💛 she’s so wholesome
I made this for my friends and I, we all loved it! Thank you Maangchi! ☺️💕💕
you’re pretty
The best!
I remember hiking the island of Ulung-do (my favorite place in Korea). My friends and I had yachaejeon in a tiny village restaurant. It was sooo delicious! We complimented the cook as we paid our bill. She said, Wait a moment, and ran back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she emerged with a nicely wrapped package of yachaejeon to take on our journey. No charge. A beautiful memory.
That sounds like Korea!! ❤️❤️❤️
Mo
That’s part of Korean hospitality. Very similar to Moroccan hospitality. Unfortunately, the japanese took advantage of this 400 years ago, and again in the 20th century.
I just realized, maangchi been teaching me to make Korean food for like a decade now. Thank you!
Thank you very much for following my recipes for a long time, my friend!
Same
1. rainy day 2. extra vegetables in the fridge 3. flour in the pantry yachaejon timeeeeeee!
Linda Pierre relatable. I also like using left over vegetables that are near the end of their shelf life! So no waste.

What flour did se use?
I think she said all purpose flour
My German husband is always very happy when I watch your videos, because he get the same food in the video the next day!

So sorry, first time I read this as "my German Shepherd", and that's why I said how cute followed by 😘🐶💜.......now I'm crying 😂😂😂

Carlton Banks whats that supposed to mean?
YACHAEJEON (Vegetable Pancake) 2-1/2 c assorted veggies 3/4 c all purpose flour 1/2 t salt 1 lonely mushroom 3/4 c water 3 T vegetable oil DIPPING SAUCE: 1 T soy sauce 2 t vinegar 1 t sesame seeds Hot pepper flakes to taste (optional)
Yeah! She is cute!
..lonely 🍄 😂
Thank you!
In my opinion Sesame seeds should be roasted before adding in the mix,it would smell and taste better.
Thank you👐
I made this tonight after craving it all week. It turned out really well. And I managed to flip it without breaking it! Thanks Maangchi!
Fantastic!
"My mushroom is lonely"--maangchi is the bob ross of korean food!

I know huh...i really hope I'm taking care of my mushrooms. I need to take responsibility. ♡ adorable.
Dear Maangchi, Thank you for giving us vegetarian recipes. I just made this for dinner last night and both hubby and I loved it!! Yum-Yum!! I used what vegetables I had - potato, carrot, onions and green onions. Fantastic. The only thing I failed at was flipping the pancake LOL! I have to practice to be as good at flipping as you. Thank you again!! LOVE your channel!

Came here to learn how to make veggie pancakes, stayed for the amazing vibes! Watching this video made me feel so calm and happy, please keep being your adorable, wholesome self! We need more of that in our world right now
Seriously. She lifted my heart, which was sad today.
Me too, something about her makes me feel like at home and warm :))
Hi Maangchi I am from India & live in the southern part of the the country......we have a similar receipe over here..... called VEGETABLE UTHAPPAM...... but instead of all purpose flour we use a ground batter made of rice & lentils......add as much as veggies as possible......& make something called chutney as side dish...... I am surprised at the similarities between our types of cooking 🤩🤩
This tastes different trust me. I live in Chennai but this is waaaay different than Uttappam
Chilla
Yeah dude, by the way korean adopted from tamil Nadu so similarity will be there!
@@sayounara1232 same pinch , i m too Living in Chennai . Nd i will try
The similarity is so visible. There is history about a princess from Tamilnadu married a Korean King and settled there. That influenced their culture ba bit. So that we can find so many similarities in their language and food and other cultures as well.
I watch your videos when I'm depressed, like therapy.. It helps though 🤗
Hahaha
She's adorable! I always feels better too. And the food!!
I made this today and my stomach is so happy! This is a recipe that I'll definitely be keeping in my meal rotation - it's so quick, easy and delicious! I had a bag of stir fry veggies that really needed to be used up and this recipe was absolutely perfect for that. Can't wait to try more of your recipes Maangchi!
I'm so happy to hear that! Continued good luck with your Korean cooking!

Agree! There’s something contagiously so cute about this chef😋She reminds me so much of my little cutie middle school classmate of many many moons ago! But my dear friend isn’t a cook chef like this lady! I just like to watch & listen to her talking besides her great delicious dishes!
Matriarch of the Korean cooking world. Our teacher. May your cooking light never grow dim. I bow 3 times.

"Flip! Why? To celebrate the spring!" - good wide word that i have ever heard all my life
loved that lmao
She's a very sweet lady!
Keyunビー so hear it now!
Maangchi describing how she loves to eat this in a rainy day is EXACTLY how South Asians feel about vegetable pakoras and chai during rainy days
I was just thinking how it's like on ebig fried flat pakora😂
This is how Indian army imagines being in Seoul on a rainy day.
Yup!
Very nice
@@SlowLiving1 lmao this comment is gold yo army 😂😂💜
Finally was able to make this correctly. 4th time was The charm. Crunchy on the outside. Yummy on the inside. The sauce sets it off. Thank U~

3 years late you still amazing l'am delighted thank you very much be happy congratulations good luck
I would use avocado oil and almond flour.
The 34 people that dislike this probably can't flip their pancake correctly. xD
jennie?
Haha
Haha...so true
I failed in the flipping part too... maybe next time I just try to make it into mini size instead..
Hahaha
I have to thank maangchi for her recipes to gear me towards easy comfy healthy cooking. Ive struggled for years to go incorporate more veggies in my diet and I really needed them to avoid further health issues. You have really helped me eat variety of vegetables in balanced proportions. My mother is also happy that i finish em and they dont go to waste. Thanks!
Thanks! Good luck with your Korean cooking!

Hi Maangchi. I smiled at your " Let's flip to celebrate spring." and I giggled when you said, "I didn't take good care of this lonely mushroom and I'm not leaving it here because I have to take responsibility." 😄 You are such a hillarious lady and your recipe seems easy to follow. I will do one by one all your vegetarian recepies! You transmit such good vibes with your natural way to do and to explain! New folower from Brazil.
i love your energy! and thank you for sharing with us your wonderful recipe ♡
Made this tonight for family dinner, and everyone loved it. Great recipe Maangchi!!!! ❤💛💚 Quadrupled the recipie and used every vegetable we had: zucchini, carrot, white onion, mushroom, red pepper, cabbage, green onion, chives, and also put in a bit of garlic. Used 1/3 less water, because I put in so much cabbage and red pepper, which were both going to water down the batter. Made smaller pancakes and dipped in szechuan sauce. They turned out soooooo tasty, definitely going to make this again soon. Yum!!!
It sounds great!
It's great with Japanese Okinomiyaki or Tonkatsu sauce too.
Thx for sharing your version..so kind of you🙌🏽🙌🏽🥰🥰
Mas aquela abobrinha parece um pepino
Great tips thank you 🥰
Hey, I really love your receipes. I tried this with rice flour as we usually avoid all purpose flour. But trust me it was so delicious and crunchy. Everyone loved it. Please keep sharing more vegetarian korean dishes.
Thank you!!! Do you think oat flour would work?
Yes it works. I use also amaranth floor or chickpea floor to make it more proteinaceous. We have an Indian counterpart dish called Adai with different veggies (keeps changing...spinach, moringa leaves, onion, cabbage) changing them as per each family members demany.
adai is made from soaking rice and different legumes and lentils and grinding them to a coarse paste, adding salt and red chillies, and a pinch of the digestive asafoetida and curry leaves. This is typical adai batter. cook just like this Korean dish on a skillet with oil on either sides in slow fire. add veggies of your choice.
@@youmakemehappy7 Hi! Not sure about oat flour, but I’ve seen rice flour used in Indian cuisine and in bread making precisely because it gives crunch to dishes.
@@chantalelevesque8343 thank you :)
A wonderful presentation, excellent teaching, yummy and doable recipe. What a delight!
I made this today…3/24/2022….and it was delicious. I ate the entire pancake for my dinner. You posted this recipe almost 4 years ago…but want u to know it’s still alive and well! And I want to say:my thank you! Only difference is that I added some honey and ginger to the soy sauce. O and BTW: I couldn’t flip it whole as u did…..had to cut in half.
Glad you liked it!!
I made this today 😋! This is my 3rd time making this dish. I love it so much🥰. I usually eat lunch at work with my friends. We like to share our food and just have a relaxing lunch. Because of the pandemic, we currently work at home online. I ate my pancake with a tiny crack 💔 in my heart. To me, food is more enjoyable when we can share and eat with others and have peace in our hearts. I shared a picture of my pancake with my friends and family. They kept asking me for the recipe 😅, so I shared this video with all of them. Thank you Maangchi for such awesome recipes!
You must have become an expert in making Korean jeon (Korean style pancake)! Happy cooking! : )
I absolutely love this recipe. THANK YOU!!! Sending love!!!

She is so cute!!!! “I’m going to keep an eye on it because I have to take responsibility!” Lololllll
Thanks for sharing that delicious recipe ❤
I just tried this! I used different vegetables but the technique still worked great! I have never made Korean food before today but I definitely will try more recipes in the future!
Wonderful!
I’ve been hooked on her recipes as well as Aaron & Claire. Both channels have awesome recipes that are well explained and really got me in to Korean food! We make Korean meals 1-2 times a week now!
This tastes great. I'm making it for the sevond time right now. The way asian cuisine uses vegetables is wonderful.
It's a warm, overcast day in my town and I'm literally making and eating this pancake. It's so so good!
you always hide your pan aomewhere ckckckck.... so trueeee... its precious
: )
This looks delicious, will make it next week. You are absolutely wonderful, your demo is so clear and joyful. Your family is blessed. It's also great to hear abot Korean life and see your beautiful country.
'You guys know that ½ cup + ¼ cup = ¾ cup" - best math lesson ever
She's so cute.
She's right! Took me a second lol. 2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4
Math lesson for Americans. Too elementary for Koreans!😜😆😲
She is right
I was struggling how my 3/4 will be fore as i dont have measuring cup...now i know..thank to her..saranghe madam
i have made this several times now and it's delicious every time!! my family loves it so much and the best part is that it's so easy to make, thank you maangchi!! :)
Why she so cuuuute 😭 i can't God bless you aunty. keep doing you
I will try this. Looks yummy
Can't wait to cook this!!! I love her commentary especially her stories while cooking, she explains everything so easily it makes you want to cook. Thank You for this:)
OMG. This is one of the simplest and most delicious vegetarian recipes I've ever made. Be sure to set a good crust on the first side before flipping to the second side. I prefer it with more salt, prolly closer to a scant 1 t. salt. Maangchi is just enchanting to watch and her love for her native Korean cuisine is evident. Love her videos.
This video just made my day!! Such a nice presentation 👏 👌 👍 I will try the recipe 😋
Still remember my mum used to prepare with just onions n chives. So nice, so filling n so satisfied before going to school.
My mama and I had made of these today and they were BOMB lol. Thank you so much! I think this is my favorite food right now lol
I just made this and it's SO GOOD!! Such an easy recipe with amazing flavor. I used brown rice flour so that it was gluten free and it worked perfectly. Today I fried up the leftovers, chopped them up into bit sized pieces and added it to rice, along with the sauce, and made fried rice, AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE.
Bardzo ciekawy przepis ,a z Pani jest tak pogodną i wesołą osobą .W przyszłości z chęcią wypróbuję ten przepis. Pozdrawiam
Thank-you for sharing this recipe. It is really delicious; but how you manage to flip the pancake and keep it whole is beyond my skills. It is going to become a family favourite.
It look delicious. She is absolutely ADORABLE! 🤗
I made it right after watching this! I just used some left over veggies and didnt even put various veggies like her! And was kind of skeptical ... will it be good with these only???? The result is.... you guys should definitely make this!!! Amazingly delicious!!!! I am going to buy a lot of vegetables tomorrow and try it again! Thank u maang chi! 잘 먹었습니다 ^^
You're the best, Maangchi! Thank you for making vegetarian-friendly dishes also.
Hi Maangchi, I just discovered your channel recently, I must say I love your recipes. Thank you for sharing these awesome veggies recipes with us. You have such a positive energy, you are full of fun. Please share more vegetarian recipes. Love and light, from South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦😘😘
Update 2: This recipe has become a regular here, we do it for snacks, for dinner... Lately I'm suspicious I've developed a mild gluten intolerance 😭 so I tried to adapt it, I'm very satisfied with the result and I'd like to share: For a gluten free version, I've been making it with 4 or 5 cups of vegetables (sweet potato, carrots, cabbage, pumpkin and green onions are my favorites), a cup of corn starch, and 1/5 of a cup of water, in my opinion, it's lighter. (I haven't tried it without the egg for a vegan version, but I guess it might work too). Thank yoooou, Maangchi! 💜 Made it for the second time this week, my family loved it! 💕 I've used cabbage, carrot, onion and collard greens, today I added sweet potato too and it was delicious! (healthy and filling, much love for this recipe, thank you so much for sharing this gem). I make smaller ones so it´s very easy to flip. (usually two at the same time on the same skillet).
Try it with gram flour
Awesome tips!
If you didn't eat much vegetables before it might be that your bowels react badly to the vegetable/s or mushrooms in the recipe. Might be worth it to google "IBS fodmap" if the gluten free doesn't seem to help.
Chickpea flour for all purpose flour is the way to go
I was watching this recipe feeling sorry for myself that I can't eat it but then I saw your comment and omg 💕 Thank you!
