  • They are operating on a friendship that began when they were 21 and 22 years old. This is a genuine friendship . Now they are 65 & 66. Priceless .

  • I think it's so cool and rare how two adult women, in the same profession, trying to climb the same corporate latter (in the earlier days), are able to stay best friends who talk daily and haven't let their ego or jealously get in the way all these years. I also really loved how open and honest they were when talking about their personal lives.

  • Gayle's interpersonal communication skills are so impressive. Her asking for clarification, regardless of how many years they have been friends, is key to their friendship. Together, they are phenomenal communicators.

    • @@NicoleD733 that’s a really lovely thing. It gives people a chance to change their mind or grow, reasses etc.... so the last thing they said is what they believe and not hold them to what they believed 20 years ago when they were not as wise... it doesn’t always apply, but good in some areas of life to have friends who allows you to tell them who u are or what u think today.

    • Thank you for putting it in such a nice way. Before, I was always wonder why others people could be able to hold a long conversation that sounds interesting and naturally flow. Now, here when I listened to these 2 incredible communicators, I was instantly drawn to the conversation, both because of the content and the way it was delivered. But I had no idea what made me to feel that way. Just after reading your comment I realized that it was a particular talent and skill, called interpersonal skill. This was such an amazing discover. For the first time I have the right vocabulary to describe vague concepts. You know, those concepts that we can sort of feel them, kind of thinking that they exist but can’t really tell exactly what they are.

  • I’m a mommy of young adult children. I fluctuate between manager and consultant. I’m in agreement with Gayle at the 33:00 mark. Mommy intuition is important. God gave us our children for a reason.

  • Surprisingly, i learned from this interview how they have a great, deep and strong friendship eventhough very different personalities. And that I was all my life fantasying a "perfect model friendship" that maybe doesn't even exist. I will have now to reconsider my personal experiences and expectations of what is friendship... Thank you Oprah for one more time contributing to human relations knowledge 👍❤️

You have your opinion I have mind. And by the way no one knows if they are lovers or not I DON'T CARE. They both showed me their true feelings when gayle played victim after her interview with Lisa. Orphan goes on channel 4 crying for her beloved bestie. You got your opinion I GOT MIND THANK YOU!!!!
