So, the main reason the red crabs aren't eaten is because they don't taste good and are more waste then food? But spider crabs are good, so they are eaten. That's what I got from this video.

Hell coonass Cajuns could take an old tire or license plate and season it, cook it, and make it c'est ce bon mon Amie! They came up with Old Bay in Baltimore not Baton Rouge. Thanks to the Holocaust a Jewish German refugee Gustav Brunn came up with it in Baltimore in 1940. He was a master sausage Spicer in Duetschland until the MAGAs I mean Nazis chased him out!

It's more interesting why don't they just build a few culverts and force crabs to go through there, can't possibly cost more than cleaning all of this up.
...they show up from Everywhere. Then head to the sea. Then go back in 2 waves. That walk over buildings. Concrete is no problem unless Super smooth & steep. How do you collect them? You're talking about the LA River & storm water system, but veryical like war trenches, on a tiny island that cant pay for it nor afford to maintain it, destroying the island w all the work & concrete. Doing that would cost Lots of Mooney, time, effort, to destroy the whole economy & ecology.
@@iainburgess8577 buildings are a bit different from fences you could build that are specifically designed to prevent crabs from climbing, preferably without inflicting harm to those that attempt to
You missed this point... The infrastructure costs would make this understanding a no go@@shinobuoshino5066
set net bariers then lift
i think you're underestimating how small this island is and how expensive concrete is. 😂. putting out and collecting sheet metal barriers on a few roads once a year is definitely less expensive than miles of concrete work.
If this crabs are in Asia It's already on the list of Endangered species.
if i lived there id be crabby all day long
'Crab People, Crab People. Taste like crab, walk like people.'

Crab People, Crab People. Walk like Crab, taste like people
i thought it was talk like people
@@dudleyvasausage7879 In SP it is but the red crabs of Christmas Island don't talk so I made it 'walk'. I didn't want Matt & Trey to sue me, either :D

11:18 WATOP Narrator pronouncing "chitinous" like an absolute Alpha Giga-Chad! 😭
Can't they feed them to crocodiles , alligators, or animals in the zoo.
Give it to some Asians they’ll figure something out
Fried tempura crab meat. 😋

In my country.. Vietnam .. you will see they can eat any animal . These carbs are so lucky here.
Great information! Love this channel, always interesting to watch! Love ya Steve! Catch you again next time!
I wonder what PETA is going to do about this
The sound they make24/7 must be pretty amazing. I'd like to find a good clearly done recording of this
Yeah, I was disappointed it didn't make the edit.

In Maine the green crabs are really starting to gain traction as a seasonal food! Some tasty little guys for sure!
Crab whiskey!🤣🤣🤣
A real-life Crab Rave.
Rabbits were introduced and went absolutely berserk breeding. 😎👍
There's plenty of crabs we'll eat in aust, but there's quite a few that are toxic and best avoided, if they've got black tips on their claws, best not to mess with them.
Sri Lankan mud crabs! That’s the proper crab for Singapore pepper crab and chilli crab. The best!
It must stink on that island
Imagine all these crabs dancing to Crab Rave by Noisestorm
Can you feel it now Mr. Krabs?
Was hoping you’re gonna do the story on the ones that change shells like when the shell gets too small when their body grows too big for it. They need a new shell so they all get a line after all measuring up, they go from largest to smallest and just switch shells. They always end up one guy at the end of it doesn’t get a shell.
Did anyone notice that there was a lot of commercials in this video every 2 minutes 3 minutes

Dogs in Oz lick Cane Toads. The dogs go to some sort of doggie heaven and roll about on their backs in the grass. Though very toxic, toad secretions are a class of psychedelic catalysts. Remember the princess who kissed the toad?

🎶Crab people, crab people..🎵
So the red land crab is just a bunch of lonely dudes living in basements, alone, and then a rave starts and they all scramble and trample each other to get to the baes
Crab Rave song played in my head the whole time
i see the maskings in this video and i want to scream because that's a lot of work 😂👍🏼
Imagine willingly bringing wasps somewhere 😂
Imagine what other islands have done without crabs all these centuries!
They look exactly like the Blue Land Crabs in the Caribbean but those are freaking delicious
They taste great nice and juicy same thing happens in Andros Island 😊
Those crabs like travelling

Liberty, taking the word in its concrete sense, consists in the ability to choose.
Wow Mr.crabs! 😂
remember our spiders are bigger lol 🤣
Right off the bat without watching I’m going to guess the coconut crabs are good in soup and murderous.
You don't have to go to some unknown island out in the middle of the ocean... how come the Caribbean islands weren't mentioned since the exact same thing happens there? In Dominican Republic we hear what sounds like rain but it was sunny and no clouds in late afternoon ... then thousands of crabs appeared that began migrating towards the beach out of the jungle and across the roads.
If you're hungry, anything edible may taste good
Love Steve 😂
Your background music kind of reminds me of something that would be in Sonic Mania
For this episode, it is good to add "Crab Rave" by Noisestorm.

I love crab curry 🍛 😋
Its a crazy thing to see live but there very important to the eco system that's why they help them
Asians see this as a buffet 😂😂😂
I shouldn't have to watch 6 minutes of video just explaining how many there are, I actually came to the comments to find out why there not eaten.
"Hey, Sabatori! Give the ugly kid the red crab."
they are brand new batch clay red claw shell look it never been ingest rooling in river shore micro folter feed on any other source shell sheded armor clothes wear tear different mixed color blend in it habitat or know to be spread out anywhere right ?first few outing
I still wonder why I don't fear crabs as hideous gross creatures(even though they actually are) than spiders, despite being in the same arachnid family. Maybe because their cuter than the stereotypical spiders and less dangerous than spiders(other than overpulation) and less fear of eating them.
Less hair
I got crabs watching this with my hiney😂😂😂
wonder what would happen if you played crab rave
It’s call crab March in Jamaica
Noisestorm: Crab Rave
jake harper would say..there just bad ass spiders
The wasps they want to bring are actually *parasitic* and specialize on using the ants as hosts lmao

Every time I take a hiatus from this channel it’s always switching from Steve acting like this is his voice to it not… I’m getting whiplash 🥴🤣
Ants OP!
There are not as many crabs as there used to be. Sadly, ants got to the island, and they are killing the crabs.
Same thing happens in El Salvadore, my friend back in the 90's was an expert diver & trainer. He was going on a dive trip down in El Salvadore, asked me to come along haha NO TY....Said and tookpics of their red crabs crossing the roads just like those in the video. But no one down there put up barricades lol they just let the crabs do their thing.
send in the cavalry, the ant eater
When they pointed out that the tiny introduced wasp was from Malaysia, they pointed somewhere in Central America. This is on the other side of the world from Malaysia.
Now I live in Louisiana and I love me some boiled crabs but what I can't stand is soft shell crab, to me it's like biting into parchment paper.
For the soft shell crabs, you have to fry them and they taste excellent😂
That's because you've never ate a Chesapeake Bay fried soft shell crab sandwich. Lived in Louisiana for a decade and their crabs are good but the best blue crabs come from the Bay not the Gulf. Now crawlfish etoufeé, fried gar balls, gator tail, blackened catfish filets, frog legs and those huge gulf oysters are the bomb.
I like the soft shell fried as well!
the muppets are on to you
Maybe they could use some anteaters...like....a lot
do they not have seasoning in aus? I'd be doing crab boils for months 😂. yeah there's only a few types of crab that are delicious by themselves... Cajuns figured out the rest
Other people in other countries will eat it so they have to export it and earn revenues
This is why Australia is the closest thing to being on a different planet. We dont need Mars, just go to Australia 😂😂😂
