  • Did you watch the game? The nucks outplayed nashville significantly. They lacked a bit of execution and I think demko as well. But Vancouver dominated every measurable stat except for block shots… Because Vancouver was taking WAY more shots.

  • Yes, us Canucks fans are saying this contract is a bust... as we did shortly after JT Miller got signed, and look how that turned out. We also wanted Boeser and Garland traded. Our track record on this stuff isn't that great. 😂. Petey will be fine and return to form. Hopefully sooner than later.

      @J-jizzy_@J-jizzy_9 күн бұрын
    • Personally I never wanted boeser or garland traded. Garland is arguably top 3 on our team in just pure heart, determination and driving force for a line. You look at the combo of him and Joshua and you see that those two are dynamic together. Garland gets a lot of hate for his size and contract but imo is worth EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR of his contract. He’s one of those glue guys that you need in the playoffs. He can handle his own in scrums, can drive a line, can produce offence, is decent in defensive zone instances. Petey is a problem lately in all zones of the ice. Can’t hit the net or make the plays in the offense. Turns it over constantly in defense and neutral zone. And doesn’t know how to stay on his feet. Petey is a great player but if this is how he’s gonna play for the next 8 years the contract is going to age horribly.

    • Yeah, and people said Loui Eriksson would score 40 goals playing with the twins. Olli Juolevi was supposed to be a star. Kuzmenko was given a new contract and tanked. It goes both ways and, right now, he looks like a big overpayment. Next year, there will be 4 players earning more money : Matthews MacKinnon McDavid Panarin. Elias Pettersson is nowhere near that calibre of player. He isn't even the best player on his own team. Nobody said Miller was gling to be a bust. They said that 8 million should have been spent on Horvat instead. And, yes, you are right, it was better to sign Miller (and trade Bo, but he hardly sucked this year in New York). Pettersson will be making as much as Miller plus Joshua plus Hoglander plus Suter. All have been more valuable so far. He needsto be downright heroic in this year's playoffs and put up 110 points next year to justify his contract.

  • I really dont get the "Nashville were just hungrier" argument. Watching that game imo the Canucks out performed almost the entire game and gave up 3 goals due to stupid mistakes and a momentum shift. It really looked to me like Vancouver was the hungrier, faster, more intense team and the preds just got some cheeky goals taking advantage of some bad positioning on Desmith, and a shit pass by petterson.

  • Honestly I just hope Vancouver pulls through. I would love nothing more than an all-Canadian Edmonton Oilers-Vancouver Canucks matchup with a guarantee that one of them moves on to the Western Conference Finals. Let's just hope whoever it is also moves on to the Finals, and all will be well. I would of course love it to be my Oilers, but if it is the Canucks who go all the way, I will support them. Unfortunately, I do not see how realistic this is due to Thatcher Demko's injury. I hope that it does, though, it would make me, an Oilers fan in the States, and a lot of people in Canada very happy.

Even the Kings still have players from their cup wins. Not saying that they can’t win, even with Demko out, but I question their ability to recover from mistakes, which is why I picked the preds to win. It's all the little things, overskating the puck, mishandling even without pressure, overhandling the puck. He has the talent but it seems like he's living in his own head instead of feeling the game. He needs to snap out of it or he's going to be letting his teammates down when they need him the most.

The two-way forward earned the nickname “Beast Mode” after racking up five goals and 11 points in the six games it took the team to down the Predators. “ We could beat you any way we wanted to. If you wanted to out-hit us we would out-hit you. If you wanted to skate us into the ground, we would skate you back. He'll be fine, he's learning. This is NOT Vancouver's all-in year, this is Vancouver's first year of their contention window. Simple as that. What's more, anyone who watched that game should know that Vancouver was every bit in it from start to finish - they had something like 80+ shot attempts. Credit Nashville 100% for the solid game and insane shot blocking (and the Canucks wildly missing the net). This is looking like a great series, but it's not about who's hungrier. Also, Vancouver's PP has not looked dangerous, which can sink any team in a series.

He’s so slow on the power play when Hughes is bringing it up and he’s supposed to be the guy behind to take the drop pass, he’s too far back and the defense gets enough time to reposition. I just don’t see any confidence coming from him. He’s passing when he has space. Forcing bad shots, and not taking the shot when it’s open. This even led to a goal yesterday, puck is out of the zone and he throws it back in for an interception and preds score. That’s not what you want to see from someone who will make 12m. Is he hiding an injury? Something could be up..but you're right, his confidence needs to increase for him to be a factor. Our depth is carrying us right now. Also, let's be honest....we really need Demko.
