  • I don't think anyone played as hard as the Preds did against us. Sure some of the other series have their tough moments, but this series legit has been the tightest checking, no free ice, grind it out series that's been played in years. The shot totals for the series were low for a reason. Shot blocks through the roof and tight checks everywhere. The Preds were SUPER annooying to play against and that's to their credit. If we can bring the same level of defence against Edm, with a bit more offence, we'll have a good shot of replaying the season series outcomes. To be fair, Edm is firing on all cylinders - Hyman is an absolute beast wildcard aside from McD and Drais. Should be a good round 2 for hockey fans!

    • @@alankawakami8568 Hyman is going to be a problem no doubt. Its one thing to focus on McD or Drais but now that they have Hyman going off, that's 3 dangerous players. Taking penalties could be VERY costly!

      @Gam3rC4m@Gam3rC4m18 күн бұрын
    • @@Gam3rC4m That is correct because if the Canucks took that cross checking penalty with more time left on the clock near the end of the 3rd period and the Predators were able to get a goal to tie it up and force overtime it could've ended up being a costly one for them so yeah if the Canucks can't stay out of the penalty box vs the Oilers it could be fatal if they can't contain the McDraisaitl or the McHysaitl 3 headed monster!🫣

My own attitude of being a fair-weather fan now probably amplifies this feeling. But it feels great to have a Canucks team where losing 2 goalies to injury, or letting an opponent claw back a game from 3-1, doesn't make me think "oh no", but instead now makes me think "oh boy, exciting".

Now truth be told the Canucks defensive structure definitely forces opponents too the outside, relying on the goalie to make the perimeter shot saves, and the defense on clearing the puck. That seems to cause Edmonton too struggle, as unless they can beat the goalie clean they have to pick up rebounds and get too the front of the net. Vancouvers big defenders seem to neutralize that. As a Canucks fan, it was frustrating not seeing so many shots even getting through. As for this game itself, what a hard fought win! Some good take away from this game was seeing Petey looking like he's tryin to get more into it, he didn't look like such a zombie in this game. Garland. The dude had some great hustle and put great pressure on the Preds. Silov looked amazingingly poised like a veteran in this game. Edmonton is going to be a different kind of beast, and I'm stoked for the coming series! Big props to Nashville, they definitely didn't make it easy, and almost every game could've gone either way.
