Love the safety gear, especially the steel-toed sandals.
thanks boss
@@Gorang_gareng_06 Pretty amazing operation. Please work safely.
Years ago worked for a mobil trailer build. Wore steel toes. Every time something was dropped it was above toe level. A couple times the steel line showed the drop just exactly where to cut off the toes. Useless piece of expencive junk.
@@ellenl.5581 True, that. I wore steel-toed boots in a smelter where I worked to pay for college. Always wondered about toes if the steel cap was crushed.
@@ellenl.5581i strongly disagree! Safety boots have saved my toes several times over the years. Although I now wear Irish Setter Composite.
watching these huge pieces of wood being cut is all well and good but unless you see what the pieces are eventually turned into you can't get the total picture of why they were cut in the first place. I'm sure the tree huggers in the world just cringe when they see these types of videos but it might take some of the bite out of their barking(no pun intended) if they saw the final product. I know I'd love to see what these pieces eventually become.
Thank You For Supporting The Channel
They also don't like to mention the number of people put to work making the final product.

Believe it or not …but the safety rules in the UK are so hard ..these lads wouldn’t last a da in British industry ….THATS why it’s going down the pan
All of you people complaining about cutting trees: Look more closely. That tree has been dead a LONG time. There is no bark on it and the very outside is starting to rot. They are using wood that would be left to rot otherwise.
Thank You For Supporting The Channel
logs are run thru a debarker before milling or bark is removed by hand so the log can cure.... This lumber has been sitting in a yard to air cure or dry before milling. Nice try though.
Thats a 6' to 7' diameter log. Absolutely beautiful wood.

There is just that tension between the big heavy machinery and the flimsy flip flops.

Love the strict safety code. No hard hats, no heavy work gloves, no eye protection no steel tipped work boots. They probably have a iron clad work disability policy. Yep when a worker gets a arm cut off they give him a cup to beg for money.

One has to wonder how many guys that ride the saw mechanism they go through each year... As opposed to band-saw blades...

Wow, how big is the wood trunk! If I had this block, I would turn it into an amazing wood sculpture!
If I had this block, I wouldn't be able to move it in a hundred years. The heartwood is beautiful. I'd love to find this species in the US. but these guys don't even know the name of it.
You would turn it into a sculpture that would be stupid. I'd make beautiful wood tables, conference tables, and sell them for thousands of dollars. Each A beautiful wood conference table today is worth anywhere from 15 to $20000. And that tree trunk is big enough and that would is cutting really nice. I mean, that's good.
Money isn’t everything dumbass… but go ahead, chase it…. Spend your entire life seeking that next big payout. You can’t take any of it with you when you die.

I know it is hard to reconcile the lack of worker safety with what we in developed countries know and practice. But not all countries are lucky to have prospered as we have. Safety was non-existant in the early days of tbe industrial revolution in tne US, too.
Only because we didn't know about it before the industrial revolution. It's been 170 years since then. No excuses. This is just companies being disgustingly cheap - even to the point of risking lives so outrageously. They could easily afford to provide helmets and boots, if nothing else.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and his big logs wash up on the beach and that’s what helps protect from Beach erosion right now the beaches are covered in wood from the heavy rains

This is an old log that has been on the ground for many years. They are salvaging dead-falls, not logging the forest. Salvage logging the forest floor can be very profitable, since all trees eventually die, fall over in a wind storm or suffer from insect infestation.

Not sure what people you are referring to, but, the skill of sawing a log to gain the most lumber from it, goes back at least 150+yrs. in N.A. And in todays modern sawmills, technology decides the most effient cuts to extract the most usable lumber to be used, from home/aparment building, to kids furniture, to toothpicks and then there's lead pencils.

very good.

Have you guys noticed something in this video? They didn't measure or gauge tention on That band saw blade, they don't know how Tight it is how loose it is. That's very, very dangerous. They have a digital device that measures tention on that band saw blade, and they did not do that. That's messed up. I wouldn't get near that freaking machine. Yes, it's a band saw tension gauge. It cost about $488. And you should never run a band saw like this. Like They show in the beginning of this video without checking the tension on that blade. amateurs , I want to know How long they've been doing it for? And I wonder when they're luck is going to run out
Yes...and you and your tensioner and ethnocentrism, still don't know how we built the pyramids. There are many ways of 'knowing' and succeeding at processes. One is intense dedication and experience...connecting to certain sources of energy.😊😊😊😊
