    • It is very rare to find a buckle together with a belt assembly. The last time I came across such a find two years ago.

    • It's amazing how things like leather are preserved. Excavations at Hadrians wall blow me away. Clothing, shoes, and even a leather Roman boxing glove. Mud seems to be a a great preservative.

    • Because 80 years ago, these items were not relics and all this was thrown like garbage. Only weapons were taken.
