Denver got their wake up call tonight. Wolves are legit. You can't come out flat like you did against Lakers and 'make it up later'.
They made it up right away, took the lead in the 1st and at half. Just a bad defensive 2nd half. Murray is not healthy and it’s impacting the whole offense. Reggie is going to have to step up.

Sometimes a loss is a good thing. I expect the nuggets to play much better next game and rest of the series.
I think the extra rest caused them to lose a little of their focus. And maybe a bit over confident after another near sweep of the mighty lakers, with all of the big comeback wins. They are not going to be able to rest and count on being able to roar back for a last second win with this team. They have to be ready to play 4 quarters this time, or it will be time to go home. Next game will tell the tale.

You could also point to the first half where the wolves were TERRIBLE shooting and even then the Nuggets barely led. 52%, the Wolves actual shooting percentage for the game, is a much better reflection of how the Wolves actually shot. Just a little better than season average

This is why Jokic is always a great presser. He knows basketball and has great answers to questions, not to mention still can crack a joke in a loss.
People are getting a quality show in this playoff series. Both teams are good and were neck to neck all the season in the standings. I want Denver to win, but I won't be upset if Minnesota wins. I just like a hard fought game.

After all the 3 point and the small ball revolution, it's kind of refreshing watching a team like the Wolves depend on their suffocating defence and their size. This is going to be a very interesting series between probably the best two teams currently.

It’s the bench that is going to help the most for both teams
Nuggets need to start grabbing more offensive rebounds if they wanna win this series.

I hope Malone adjusts. We need another rim protector, and sometimes DJ plays good minutes. It's worth the gamble. Both Murray and Reggie run a great drop pick and roll with him too that can separate the defense and pull Gobert from the rim. I don't know why everyone's freaking out. It was one game that stayed competitive for most of the game. Wolves have a bunch of offensive threats, Jamal had his worst postseason game ever, and it's just a lot that can be learned from.

The bench played fine though. The only difference was 8 points between the wolves and the nuggets. The problem is their starting flat every game and their shots aren’t falling when they need to. Energy needs to turn up way more

Nuggets are going to continue to struggle in this series because of the size of the wolves. Katt and Rudy make a great pair as both know how to protect the paint and go up for contested shots. Going to be a tough series.
There is one way to combat a troubled bench, the thibbs-method. But then, you gotta worry about your guys getting tired. Wolves are tough and we knew that but the defense for denver needs to be better if they want to win the series. First to 4 wins. Wolves got 1, denver has a chance, but the details to defend has got to be there. They may have to let ant get his and defend everyone else. He’ll average 40 but denver can win by defending the others.

They need Bruce Brown and Jeff Green. The lack of a bench is going to hurt them against the Twolves. Not having a healthy Murray is really hurting them too. It's going to be the biggest challenge they've had yet. Jokic s greatness is going to have to show through to beat this team. I'm not ready to give up on them yet. They are going to have to go to a level they've never played at to beat this team. I don't know if the Celtics can even beat the Twolves. They don't take games off like the Celtics.

I don’t think people realize the wolves shot their best fg% in the playoffs last night and second best 3p%. Naz and Conley had huge second halves even for their standards (They probably don’t win if not for Naz) .. even for Ant he was unconscious. In 16 playoff games he has scored 30-39 eight times, that is more so what is expected.. but 43 on almost 60% is unconscious even for him. Murray had 0 points in the first half which he has never done. Despite all that there were 6 lead changes and 10 ties. This is going to be a close series. We’re not giving up after 1 game.
