    • @@richardw3347 the one thing it does really well is coordinate the video and the sound together by itself. So that I don't have to render it with another software. It also has an automatic lighting feature so it will adjust the light or maybe adjust the aperture to bring in more light or less light depending on what's needed. The software I use to do my video editing is just Adobe elements.

  • Hey! Great video, thanks! I am on the edge here. I have no camera yet and i want to buy a compact one, mainly for photo and 4k video with a nice bokeh. This camera currently is cheaper than an M50 or A6500. I was thinking about Panasonic GX80, which comes with a 12-32 mm lens, around between f3.5-f5.6 but I want a camera with a nice bokeh effect, so this kit lens is possibly not suitable for it. That's why I am thinking about ZV-1 or GX7 Mk. 3, these 2 are around the same price. What would you suggest?

  • Hey! I have a sony hx400v. Video editing is a big hobby for me, and I like to make travel videos (with artsy nature shots and all) for KZhead and for myself. Can you recommend this as an upgrade or not? Im hesitating if I am the vlogger or artsy video maker ;p for me the lightness of the camera also plays a big role: I get neck aches from mine if I carry it on my travels each day.

  • The lens is not _made_ by Zeiss, but to Zeiss specifications. Just like the "Leica" lenses on Lumix point-and-shoot cameras are not actually made by Leica. If this were the case, the lens alone would probably be more expensive than the whole camera. Still, nice camera. The lens a little bit wider would be even better for vlogging, though.

  • I've been shooting with the ZV-1 as my primary camera for six months (I also have the m50). For my purposes shooting videos, the quality and the compactness of the ZV-1 in unparalleled. Bought mine with the Sony grip and while I primarily use the Benro selfie stick tripod, I find the Sony grip to be a worthy investment because I can trigger the camera remotely - and when you have a camera with the weight of the ZV-1 on a selfie stick, it's very easy to knock that lightweight ballhead out of alignment just by pressing the button on the camera.

    • As my Nikon D5000 was stolen and I have a very old iPhone SE, I am trying to find out which camera/phone combination I should get for producing content for my two youtube channels. as well as private travel photography. The ZV-1, iPhone 12 Pro and or Canon EOS M50 are now on my shortlist.

      @GolfTesla@GolfTesla2 жыл бұрын
    • @@GolfTesla The primary reason I got the ZV-1 was its size. My intention was for travel. Without any accessories, the ZV-1 will fit in your shirt pocket. Plus image resolution is very good, internal sound is not horrible and it has variable focal length with built-in ND (a game changer). I spent the first half of December finally getting out in the world shooting in Saudi Arabia (the videos have started popping up on my channel). Overall, I have to say that I am not disappointed. It's a performer and does everything I wanted it to do. But there were some problems. Of course, battery life is about an hour, so you need to get extra batteries. Every day, I traveled around with seven batteries. They're small and relatively unobtrusive but you still have to plan for them - especially charging. The auto-focus is also very good. However, I did have times when the autofocus was searching or the main person was soft, or something in the foreground was in sharp focus but everything else soft. I left the product focus on, so that could have been a contributing factor. The lens is good but the range is limited. Many times I wanted to get a little more reach - but that is the compromise you make for such a compact size, especially since the idea of traveling with multiple lenses does not sound appealing to me. Also, you'll hear complaining about the narrowness of its widest setting. Personally speaking, I don't like the way the Sigma 16mm warps the image at that focal length, so I'm okay with this effective 24mm. Though there were a few moments I wish I had a long selfie stick. I kit my ZV-1 with the Smallrig Cage, PGYTech Mantispod and Movo VXR-10 mic. I also carry the Rode Wireless GO2 and an additional Benro Slim Carbon tripod. After using it for 18 months, I really like the ZV-1 and was very open to getting the E10 but the lack of internal ND dampened my enthusiasm. I also have the Canon m50 and that's a good camera, just not as flexible as the ZV-1 for YT work. Though it might be the better choice for photography. I've got a ton of lenses but my go to is still the ZV-1. If you go with the m50 be sure to get the Mk2 version. If you're considering the iPhone, go for the 13. The imaging software is so much better than the 12. My friends and I did some head-to-head comparisons and I was blown away by the 13. But I find that the iPhone is still more of a secondary camera for me to capture alternative angles. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I have a Canon Rebel T7 that was mainly for photos but I just started making KZhead and it’s just a pain for me to make videos with the lack of focus and the videos aren’t able to automatically convert to mp4 files. Might go back tomorrow to get that camera! Thanks!

    • The zv1 is just better than the M50 is every single department aside for the fact that the lens isn't interchangeable. But wgo cares when you have a decent in built lense that ranges from 24-70mm. The kit lens on the canon absolutely sucks anyway, so to buy the equivalent of the lens that Sony uses, you're gonna have to invest a whole lot more money. Sony ZV-1 for the win

But, I mostly plan to use this (if I were to get it) as my Streaming cam, and for fun photos or vlogging. You did mention this would be ideal for those type of users. But, I am curious if there is any additional advantages to having a DSLR for use as a cam for at-desk videos/streaming/vlogging? @aleeza3001@aleeza30012 жыл бұрын
    • @@aleeza3001 here's the pros and cons i know for iPhone, but it's for all phones on general. Pros of phone: you always have it, super portable, very decent low light. More accessible and cheaper, can shoot raw Cons of phone: less zoom, front facing camera not flattering for faces (small lense distorts your face), looks less professional, having such a small lense makes images look flat because there's such a wide depth of things in focus. even my $199 canon PowerShot 360 ( a point and shoot) shoots better photos and video than my pixel 4 in good lighting conditions. the image/videos look way more vibrant and have more depth. Also, audio matters and an expensive camera still needs a mic if you can get it. With phones, you can just stick a wireless earbud or other mic in their hand and make them talk

  • I noticed that with the active stabilization on in low light it gets a little jerky at times.

  • Can you help me as far as keeping the video stable? The latest vlog I put up (scheduled for tomorrow) is ruined because of the imagine being all shaky looking. I tried editing on iMovie to help but it just made it look blurry and wavy

    • Sorry to hear. Hard to fix shaky footage besides just shooting stable

  • I usually shoot for my youtube videos for action figures, toys, scale model building and DIYs (e.g. filming my airbrush painting and building scale models) and I don't do talking heads like what vloggers do. Do you think the ZV-1 is worth it?

    • Better you go for Canon G 7x mark iii. Just check this reasonable solution.

  • a helpful review. As my Nikon D5000 was stolen and I have a very old iPhone SE, I am trying to find out which camera/phone combination I should get for producing content for my two youtube channels. as well as private travel photography. The ZV-1, iPhone 12 Pro and or Canon EOS M50 are now on my shortlist.

  • So I have the Canon Mark ii, I was looking to replace it with the Sony ZV1 because I realized a few dots while recording two nights ago and it only happens AT NIGHT! (So confused) anyways I live on a beach and the wind is crazy so the noise cancellation was a big plus but.......you just said it’s not that different. The only thing that would be a tie breaker would be the auto focusing. idk if that’ll be worth the extra $300 or if I should just purchase another Mark ii......😩😩 Anyways this was a cool video! Thanks!!
