Muay thai fights in an octagon is so cool to watch
Anyone that wants to compete In Muay Thai at the elite level needs to move and train there. The training experience in Thailand versus Western gyms is never the same. Not saying Janet's coaches aren't competent but there's a huge difference in the style of training and it shows.
Well obviously, most western gyms are only part time, where as gyms in Thailand do it as a profession so you spend your full days training, where as over in the UK we work and then train, there isn’t enough money in owning gyms to stay open all day so most gym owners here work too

@@keithprice1950 well i mean he's not THAT elite. he couldnt get through rodtang and superlek. the most notable win in his entire career is against sam-a but thats his only high-profile win tbh

Todd obviously had no back up plan if her kicks didn't get it done early. She looked a little lost half way through round 2 and had no solution for the super-tight Rodrigues defense and quick hands.
I thought the same, once Rodrigues started to get really aggressiv and close, Todd didn't had an answere to that. Usually Rodrigues takes it easy the first two rounds before stepping it up. We saw the same against Fairtex. I mean as a lesbian I would love to get close with Rodrigues but I don't think like that 😅

Her workouts are insane, and literally never stop. Like, gym rat doesnt cover it - no one with a social life or a hobby is going to beat Rodrigues for a few years. I rarely think 'this fight was one in the gym', but I had zero doubts going into this, felt like Todd wasnt properly informed about the scope of the task before her.

At least Janet Todd fight everyone Unlike mensen that fights Bums. I saw Aliyca in title i knew she is warrior all Alyicia i knew were gems and warrior spirited. Sadly one died die cancer in 2019. And this lady fought for he babyson, if there is something strong then fire or titanium is person fighting for someone that means dearly to them. But i think in Rematch Janet will find a way to beat her
Janet Todd was moving too slow and she doesn't know how to use elbows and knees against her opponent. She was kicking too much and not able to land her punches. She needs to use everything she has to win the fight. Hope she will improve her weaknesses and rematch with her opponent in the next time and reclaimed her tittle back.

Technique and conditioning, not age, the opponent was just better than her
Todd just has that slow pace muaythai style , it's good for traditional opponents . But against opponents like Alicia phuket style gym, you need speed and explosiveness Todd fights like she's sparring in the gym on 80 procent

Anyone else find the ref extremely distracting in this fight? He was like right on top of them, super annoying.
Nah he’s a Thai ref ready to fly in there and put his body on the line for fighters safety he always out here tryna catch people’s heads before it hits the floor when they get knocked out. I think he’s a fantastic ref
he's literally the best ref for muay thai in ONE championship right now. he's the one who's always patient and doesnt immediately break the clinch the moment it happens. maybe if you watch the unedited version of the fight you will notice him less.
He's an amazing ref... best muay thai ref in ONE imo. He started getting closer after JT was cut by one of Allycia's elbows in round 3... and rightly so it was a rough cut in a bad place but the corner patched it up well.

@xaybor good question 🤔 I think it depends on who got the better night that day 😉. Superlek, in general, has a more diverse style, lots of fancy footwork movement, sharp timed hard, and fast kicks . Rodtang is really skilled, too ,but he just likes to bang walk forward, use lots of pressure, and bully punch 👊🏾 box his opponent until he overwhelmed them . So, long story short, if superlek is able to control the distance and pace , I see him getting a decision to win . But if he fights in the pocket boxing distance with Rodtang, he could be in for a long night
