Will this 1953 Chevy 1 ton truck run and drive after sitting for over 20 years with a locked up engine
Will it run
Will it run after 30 years
Will it run after 50 years
Will it run after 81 years
Will it run after 75 years
Every time i see a old vehicle sitting outside, i think of how easy you make it look.
SAME!
It's is easy if you're only goal is to get it started. Making is reliable is a different story.
@@nogoodcops6557 yeah I bet so. Nonetheless it’s like music to my ears hearing those ol’ girls roar to life and sing once again.
Hey! Its Dr. Frankenstein is at work. This man is auto genius. Just a good ole southern boy, cant beat it. Alabama's a big fan.
I’m in Sweet Home Alabama also…🇺🇸🙏🏻🎸 TrussVegas….!
I’m a old man here in Texas and I got to say I always watch your videos and really enjoy them and I can’t believe you get some of those 80 and 90 year old engines running but you do and that amazing to me.
New engines won't ever do that. Old is gold
The fact that it just fired immediately after being unstuck and having the points sanded is awesome.
way to spoil the ending
Seemed fake.
@@spaceghost8995? How's that?
@@spaceghost8995 Nah, watch some of his other videos. This thing is basically fresh off the showroom floor compared to most of what he's managed to get running.

As a Brit, I absolutely love this guy's accent and banter. I could listen to him chinwag all day. I believe it's a southern dilect? He's obviously also a great mechanic too.
Yep he's from Alabama so he's got a real southern accent
@@rc-daily I thought he was from Arkansas!
@dadsvespa I think you're right! Arkansas not Alabama! Which is even better! 🤣
@@rc-daily Yup,Timbo,Ark,beautiful place....
It’s got some beautiful moss carpet too.

Sir, you have the most friendly voice i ever heard 😀
Funny I read that with his voice.. 😅
Funny, you said 20 years and I was thinking the 80’s. I guess that shows my age.
Yeah.. 20 years ago were the 80s.. 2004 was last month!
LOLOL
Haha me too! 😄 Happens all the time as a matter of fact! Lol
didn't we just graduate from high school only a few years ago? (like 1972)
@@rupe53 86 for me
Them 235 inline 6 are a treat to get back running and driving again. Seems no matter what you do with them. They will not die. Will always run with no problems.
Nope the 235 in my 61 impala survivor car blew apart on the highway 3 weeks ago. It now has a two piece crankshaft.
This one made me think of how I did this to our 51 GMC Freezer Truck when I was 15! She needed to move after 30+ years of holding Ice Cream behind our Market and I took on the challenge. It went just like this but used a giant screwdriver to kick the starter . I finally drove her with square tires about a mile to her new resting place where the buyer pulled the freezer box off and used it while the Truck was sold off. She was a genuine Knudsen milk truck from 51! In 50 years she only had 28K!
Man you amaze me! You remind me so much of myself. I’m 67 now and been fixing crap that wouldn’t run for years. Keep up the fantastic work there just aren’t to many more of us left.
totally agreed, Im 73,and he is a perfect 'double' of me back then,I had a gravel pit in northern Vermont, loaded with 'toys' like that....
That's a pretty solid looking truck. Glad you got your hands on it.
She’s a looker, I hope you get her back in service!
That GMC is a mosquito killer. Man it is fun watching you get those old engines going. Keep up the great work✌️
Fun fact, that six cylinder GM engine in this truck was first designed in 1927 and was in continuous production up until 2002 and lastly by Toyota. Toyota ran this design from 1955 until 2002 😉
If only the Toyota 235 heads worked on the old blocks. A 12 port head would be so cheap!
Those 1 ton engines usualy are 261's, and got used alot to build the blueflame version. My Dad put one in his 55 1st 1/2 ton Chevy. Guy needs to give that distributor, some ajusting. :}
what
The Toyota inline six they started using in 1955 and it looks identical to the Chevy except it has metric threads.
If you look for images of Toyota type F engine you will see what I mean. Wiki shows them 1st using it in 1949.
Love that era of truck, the split windshield and visor is classy..
yeah, the split windshield looks classy, Chev kept it until 1954 (first year for one piece windsheild in their pickups.)
Nicely done. You're right, the engine wants to run. Cooling will help.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have been suffering terribly with depression over the last few years. But watching your videos has been really helping me venture ever so slowly back into the things i used to enjoy! The main one being, working on old cars. I really appreciate it mate! Thanks!
Maybe in time you could venture out to some small car shows. Me and my friend do stuff like here in the UK. 🙂
Jesus loves you bro keep going.
I had a old 1949 chevrolet same show, locked up, diesel down the plug hole for a few days, new points, cleaned out the carburettor, through a 1rd of a cup of petrol down it and off she went beautiful old trucks tough as nails
I just love this mans attitude!
My week just got better with Jennings!
that truck’s got some style. i don’t know what style that would be but it’s definitely got some. lol. love the shots of it when you’re trying to get it to roll and the smoke is just rising up from everywhere. -she really does want to live.
-or maybe she just wants to sleep 😂
I sure do like that GMC. Back in the late 80s I found a 1950 gmc 1/2 ton short, side step pu and was able to trade for it with a 1963 buick special I had gotten for free, but it had no interior whatsoever. That 1950 gmc was in great shape, and the interior was all remarkably in nice shape other than the seat, which I replaced.. I put a lot of work into it and then 3 years later the transmission went and i could not get one anywhere at the time in my area, and there was no Internet, and I didn't know anything about finding parts across the country. I wound up selling it for about $1,000 to a guy for his son.. I still miss that truck, wish I'd held onto it, but had nowhere to keep it. Edit: the Buick was a 64' not 63'
Every time I see such a beauty , I dream of watching its full restoration video ! Thank you.❤
Well, you've come to the wrong channel for THAT!
Much respect for how you understand these old vehicles and bring them back to life. This truck would make a fun project for someone to restore as a rat truck. I like it.,
Man, I love seeing these old relics come to life, throwing smoke signals and everything else! I think this is your best truck ever...or actually the Diamond T protect is probably the best, the old Ford AA is right up there too. Thanks for all the great content!
The hydraulic bed working was a treat, great video!
Mr Mackey knows his shit about getting old engines running. Mmmmkaaay
Kids, starting fluid iz bahd MmmKay.
I thought that video of you getting that old flipped upside down destroyed Plymouth running was so cool 😎
did anyone else see it the distributors moving back and forth when you had it runing yeah. GG bro
Me too. Chevy 216, 235 has a vacuum advance at the base of the distributor that moves it whole
sure, most gm/delco dist in those years, had'outside' vac advance, the WHOLE dist turned...
Oh so it's supposed to do that?
Not in my book it dont move im a mechanic until I retired yeah. @@jaybeemhardscrote7466

I’m always amazed by how you’re able to make any dilapidated junk or old classics run again! You make it look so easy!
I love his pauses. "Interior wise... We've got some cab."
I love that sound! I learned to drive on one of these in the early 60's. What a great truck, it's still on the road.
Dude, this is one of my favorite channels. Love watchin you work
Dude! That's a pretty much complete GMC. Even has the visor. I like it.
Good job! I love to hear those old engines run . You can sure find em!
That's a gorgeous old truck. It's like a piece of art work. I'd love to see it fully restored someday by Mr Jennings.
This dude reminds me of my uncle he's super smart, when I was little my dad said nothing beats a old school car they didn't have all these electronics & sensors. Now I know what he meant any who good job making these girls run again giving them another life these car today wouldn't last that long with or without maintenance I love ya videos how you explain things I watch all your videos multiple times... get them girls fired up
Love them old GMC trucks
I always look forward to watching your videos.
You gotta have a part 2 to this gem ! I hope to see you driving it around so I am in favor of you getting the cooling system done and drive it like you stole it.
What a fuckin beaut. I just said to my daughter "Imagine driving that, bodywork like it is, that patina, but the oily stuff, brakes and suspension all sorted, through Birkenhead" Nodded in agreement (14 yo)
I like that truck, you get stuff going that most people couldn't!
Great job on the old GMC truck !!!!!
What a very beautiful old truck. Thanks for showing it some TLC and sharing the story with the world.
Love these videos! It’s great to see these oldies able to run after so long!
The best part of my week so far. Your videos make my evening every time. I call this a total success. It would drive, and the bed is probably just low on oil, the PTO and pump worked perfectly
Great video, you know your stuff. A pleasure watching these old trucks coming back to life.
